Zinder quickly followed after Colson, placing a gold piece on the counter, not paying attention to actual prices at the moment. She stayed close to Colson, not wanting to get left behind. "W-wait for me!" She squeaked out.

"No worries!" Zukiel replied with a grin. "I can sense it. Faintly, but it's in that direction." he said, pointing to their left. "She feels...sad."

"well, that's better than angry, hungry, bored, or rage-filled. i can work with that" Colson then eyes Zukiel a bit. "dragon sense...that's a new one for me. how?"

"Family trait. My mother had it, and her mother before her." Zukiel replied, as he led them out of the town. "But to be fair, it's a lonely sadness I sense. Which is better than what the townsfolk have thought. I don't sense anything else at the moment."

the dwarf grunts. "interesting family, lad. Still, don't count this dragon as a none-threat just yet. a very sad Red Dragon is still a good thing in my book. Chromatic dragons may be a different story. and we don't know how long the walk is. keep sharp." As they leave the town proper and enter the countryside, Colson draws his sheild, and holds his axe in a relaxed grip at his side, going back to the habits of a bodyguard.
(should we encounter roll, or are we going strait to dragon first?)

"I know the dangers of chromatic dragons, and I don't care. If a dragon is sad, regardless of what color their scales are, I want to help them." Zukiel said firmly, looking at the dwarf. "Either way, you're right about the walk. She's further away then we think, so it'll be some time before we reach her."

Zinder looked around. "Dragon? Sad dragon? We should make it happy, Colson!" She said a little louder than normal. "Would you really kill it if it was bad?" She then whispered, not wanting to draw attention to herself too much.

As they walked out of town, into the small forest outside of the town, where Zukiel sensed the dragon's presence. A group of five men walked out of the brush ahead of them, dressed in simple clothes and wielding wooden spears. The leader spoke to them, "Stop! I cannot allow to go any further into these woods, adventurers."

Livian stopped with the group, tapping her bottom lip thoughtfully as she looked at the men. She had thought they looked familiar, but wasn't sure if they were.

Livian thought they looked familiar, but did not recognize them specifically from her time in the village.

Colson glared slightly. "ok. no. for one, if your worried for our safety from local disturbances, don't be. we're going out to fix that problem. if your bandits, good luck. our gold and belongings are ours, and your not having them without a fight." he then points at their wooden spears "besides, with only wooden spears, and no armor, i think we're more equipped to handle whatever you have in mind to be the problem." he looks them each in the eye, then says one last thing. "move."
(there is probably a better way for him to react, but i'm going with annoyed at being told to stop. Also, bodyguard. threat detected. lol. passive intimidate check! +5)

Livian shrugged and started walking around them. "Well, if you think we'd be able to take them, then there's no point in killing them. I thought they looked familiar, but I've been to lots of towns and seen lots of faces, it's impossible for me to remember all of them."
