Enju was running out of things to pretend to do. The flowers were arrnaged perfectly, everything was clean and set. The shop was actually looking above average. He turned and leant against a post, debating whether to offer help but they seemed to have everything handled. He merely smiled in their direction and chose to offer just in case, fixing his kimono and running a hand through his hair.

As a Haka approached the two it sent a twinge of excitement down his spine. He wasn't uneasy about them but respectfully kept his gaze focused elsewhere after taking a slight glance. He bowed pointedly to the Haka before adressing the Gehaka. He couldn't quite remeber if that was wrong or not, he didn't have the best memory and his mother wasn't the best of a teacher but he made sure to keep his demeanor innocent and helpful.

"Do you need any help, sir? I saw you from my shop and just wanted to check on you."

After speaking he grinned lightly but kept his eyes downcast, suddenly nervous. What if he had interupted the Haka? His jaw tightened as that thought passed through his head.

However he was wrong. Tohru tilted his head faintly, watching him a bit and inquiring almost innocently "What are you doing?" which could have been laced with venom that the Gehaka didn't yet sense. It wasnt as if idling around with large baskets in the middle of a large street busy with people was very common. Actually, Tohru liked the way the Gehaka looked. It wasn't that he'd ever admit it- not many Haka would. But, being a bit of lower class, he did like to look at handsome Gehaka.

It probably didn't help that his mother was a scribe, and he also would be a scribe some day, but for now he was a tutor in writing and reading, for Gehaka who's owners allowed them or needed them to learn. He had the afternoon off however, purchasing supplies for the shop.

Sada nodded, stealing a glance at his new friend's cousin. Silently, he cursed in his mind. Damn, Haka were pretty even from behind. The blush on his face grew, he always felt so clumsy, even being this close.

The raven haired gehaka looked at Hotaru, and his eyebrows lifted. Something was bugging him, the blue eyes followed the other's gaze to the shop. It was a little easy to guess then.

"Maybe he wanted a vase for flowers...or ....something," he found himself defending the pretty haka, even if Hotaru's cousin could have done it for himself. The blue eyes squeezed shut, the blush still there.

Oh, this was not good. He swallowed hard, his ears drooping as realization dawned on him. Now he remembered. Of course, it was wrong. He wondered for a moment why he thought it hadn't been wrong. It was that recklessness in him that did it, he was always so eager for anything exciting to happen he had blatantly forgotten his manners. He had another feeling that it was going to be a very deadly mistake.

He could pick out the that tinge of venom in his words. He had long since learned to detect it from his mother and her friends, being a riley little Gehaka since birth. Of course, that wasn't as funny as it sounded, his parent's were very serious and lashing every now and then that kept him from wreaking havoc in the shop or anywhere, for that matter. He gulped and dropped his head just a bit lower, the grin on his face sharpening.

"M-me, sir?"

Hotaru snorted. "When my cousion become intrested in flower will be a day I rejoice," he muttered. This was not the behavior he expected in his cousin, it was just not Shinku. The blonde sigh, maybe Aunt had finally gotten to her son and had stopped his behavior.

The blue eyes lingered on Sada. The other was blushing heavily, and he had defended his cousin. His new friend wasn't starting to become attracted to his cousin, was he? Hotaru looked back at Shinku, he didn't see anyone beautiful or attractive.

As another Gehaka appeared, Hachiro found a reason to look at him, shifting the heavy basket in his arms. "Ah...yes, I may need help getting this other basket to my mother's shop..." He spoke quietly, keeping his head bowed while the Haka continued to watch them both. The other didn't seem nearly as intimidated as he was--but hadn't his mother told him that one must be quiet and meek in the presance of a Haka?

As the Haka himself spoke, Hachiro lowered his head a bit more, fixing his eyes politely on the other's sandals. He wasn't sure who the man was adressing, but he would answer anyway, to not keep him waiting. Forcing the knot out of his throat, the Gehaka quietly said, "I had been sent to retrieve silk worms for my mother's shop. One of the baskets has cracked and I do not wish to spill the contents inside." With that, he remained silent, waiting to be dismissed or whatever else the Haka might think of doing to him.

The shy Gehaka avoided all eye contact as he headed through the Main Street of the town. There were Gehaka and Haka everywhere and his shy nature told him to beware of both. It was nearing his afternoon mealtime, which he enjoyed under the shade of his favorite tree on the other side of town. He was covered in tiny wood shavings from a hard morning's work in the boat-building shop his mother owned. Though he had many troubles in his life, he striven to make a place for himself useful to his mother whether it was a threat to his health or not.

Tsukiko, Shizuka. He nervously looked side to side with his wide grey eyes, his incredibly pale skin glowing slightly in the bright sunlight. He was afraid of getting burnt again; he was so sensitive to light that he rarely worked outside lest the sun roast him. He pushed a long tendril of his black hair behind one of his ears and walked on, hoping to not to be noticed by anyone around...

"Absolutely, sir," he murmured.

Capek nodded, moving carefully to the display shelves. He took down a cup of each set, pausing long enough to spread them out across his mother's countertop. He gave the set up a last glance before moving his attention back to the Haka; or, his full attention anyway. he'd been keeping the young man in the corner of his eye as he moved about the shop. 'Relax,' he said, as if it was something Capek could really control. He'd been taught since he was young to respect Haka, and more specifically to hover over any customer that entered the shop.

"Here are the current sets, sir. The four on the left are made and painted by my mother Sato Chisai." With a practiced motion, Capek lifted the cup, indicating the brand in the center of the cup's base. "The other two are made by Sato's apprenctices. All of the sets are made and fired here in the shop."

A practiced speech.

Hoped not to be notice? Yeah, right. Sorry to burst your bubble, little Gehaka, but when you're in one's way...

A sound like thick sheet unfurling in the wind would be heard as Kei approached, alerting Shizuka of his presence. He himself was quite tan from always being out and about, be it working in the garden his mother kept or scouting for new and unusual colors. And now he had found a potential one, in the form of a small nest settled among the upper branches of the tree Shizuka was sitting under.

"Hey," He quite rudely hailed his fellow Gehaka, "Mind if I climb over you?"

(Actually, I'd prefer you called him Shizuka because there's another Tsukiko... just a note to avoid confusion... heart )

Shizuka looked up quickly, a noodle dangling from his lip and froze. He stood quickly, half tripping over himself and knocking over his whole bowl of noodles. With his lunch gone, and his tranquility disturbed, he knew nothing else to do but stand aside and cower. Not accustomed to being spoken to, he didn't say a word, but merely watched what the other Gehaka would do next, the childish innocence in his eyes was clear as day.

((Shiizakana Azuma (Tsuru) ))

"The day when I am rested is the day when I am dead."

A deep, steady voice sang the lyrics quietly as he passed down the street, his thin frame shifting back and forth in the ripples of the crowd.

" In and out of a waking dream, I am alive, and so I shall wander."

With a shamisen on his back, this was a man who swayed in time to the tides of the city.

The intoxicating scents of a busy market place wafted through the air, the sweet smells of exotic fruits and incense mixing with all the sweat and grime of the long street.

He smiled, a few inaudible words slipping from his lips, like the first raindrops of a coming storm.

((You got it))

Kei paused, blinking at the other's frantic reaction and arching a brow at the spilt lunch. What a waste. He stepped closer to the tree, almost ignoring Shizuka until he could touch the trunk of the tree.

"Sitting up here... you look like you're hiding from someone. Don't worry, I'm not going to tell anyone you're here if you're hiding from a Haka. Though, I suggest sitting in the tree next time." He nodded. That said, the bat-like creature sunk his nails into the bark and gave one great flap of his wings. This propelled him up the tree, until he could latch onto the desired branch and make a grab at the nest. "Hey, help me out, will ya? I'm gonna pass these eggs down to you so I won't break them coming down."

Shizuka sees Kei (is that right) eyeing the spilt food and blushes deeply, the edges of his wings glowing slightly as well. As the other Gehaka began to speak, Shizuka listened quietly and replied almost inaudibly. "I-I wasn't hiding. I d-don't know any Ha-Hakas." He takes in the advice about sitting in the tree the next time, but doesn't know if that's a good idea. (You'll see why later) He whispers anyway, "I'll remember that..."

His arms held behind his back, he watches as Kei almost instantly propelled to the top of the tree. He watched as he pulled the eggs out of the nest and starting gingerly climbing back down. His brows arching with the innocent urge to help this new person, Shizuka hurried to the tree and held his calloused, cut-up hands up toward the closest branch, offering what help he could.

((Yurp, Kei. Kei Kudaku~ ))

"Careful." He urged, slipping an egg into the awaiting hands. He had used his legs to hook around the branch and hold him still while he plucked eggs from the nest. Then he'd hung upside down, passing eggs down to his helper.

"Haven't met a Haka?" Kei implored, smirking. "Well, good for you. You just keep hiding around here and you probably never will." He offered two more eggs to Shizuka.
