Masaraku picked up the mummified bird water and said, "Or you know, crazy idea here, we listen to the lady who tied you up and go with her plan." She began the trek to the village, letting her mist fade away. Either the plants were attracted to it or they were controlled by somebody else, either way she had a shield of rope and flesh to keep her safe. She began to supress her chakra signature and slipped into the shadows. She placed the kusarigama back at her side and drew her sword, unwrapping the tip and touched it to the bird watchers exposed ankle. Worst case scenario, he would pass out from the chakra absorption, but she needed to stock up just in case. the chakra would be stored in the blade for the time being.
When they reached the village she would immediately set out to find signs of life. After all, there had been some guys by a camp fire before.

As the party made a move Batsu trailed behind and kept his eyes peeled for any suspicious activity. While doing so, he overheard her continue to badger the bird watcher and the medic had to interject. "Masaraku, he's the only lead we have right now. The last thing we need is for him to be scared out of his wits. If he leads us astray then waste him. But as for right now, he's all we've got. Ease up, will you?" Batsu then moved to the side and went back to watching over the area.

The young man twitches and struggles as he tries his best to get away from the painful-something that seems to make him weaker and weaker. Being wrapped up in a coucoon is not helping one to move. But seemingly he succesfully escapes aleast one of the many knots he had been tangled up in. But it did not help much, he can still move less than a catterpillar. Terrified, muffled screams are becoming a background noise to the party as they torture their prisoner along the way. "OH MY GOD! WHAT ARE THESE FOR KIND OF PEOPLE!" he think-screams to himself "I JUST WANT TO GO HOME! AAAAAARGH!"

Description of the moment: The two are making their way to the village. Nothing peculiar is occuring this moment. As the fog disperse, you can once again see the valley and the village. The three men that was gathered by the fire, have started to throw buckets of water on it and begun to gather their belongings. Going to them would be a detour but not one of big proportions. The men are stationed at the end of a hill, alongside a river that runs along the entire valley. Otherwise, you could continue to the village and be there in fifteen minutes. ((Next post))

Masaraku walked towards the guys at the fire pit. "Hey Bird Boy, remember what I said about trying to escape?" She didn't feel the need to continue, by now he probably pieced together that the sword was draining his chakra through the small cut on his ankle. "Bats, keep an arrow at the ready for this guy." She waved her sword hand at the men down the hill before placing it back against the mans ankle again. When they got close enough for the villagers to hear she said, "I believe that we were hired to find a missing girl, but instead we found a pervert bird watcher." She tossed him down, letting him roll a little ways. "Two questions, Do you recogize him, and if so, how long has he been here for?"

1, As they had gotten closer, they could see that the men were of age. Around seventy-eighty years old. They all stank of alcohol and sweat. These were not the nobles of the village. One of the men, sitting down eating some sort of stew from a can, fell backwards off of his chair as a man got tossed infront of them. ((I figure his face is visible?)) the other two, one packing his bag and the other trying to bite of his toe-nails, slowly got up and hunched over the boy to get a good look at the person. "Uhm.. No no clue.. But I don't spend much time around here, or inside the village. I just got here today so.. So.. So I should not be asked." the man was intoxicated, stumbling with his words.

2, The one who had packed his bag said, "Yes!" a finger wagged back and forth in excitment "Indeed I have! He.. He is a.. What do you call it.." he took a moment to run his finger through his beards. "A... A horse.. Man? No.. A person who.. You know.. Sits on these.. These.." this man was also drunk "these.. Carts? Cart driver?" he got agitated at his own incapability to get the right words out so his next sentance were somewhat shouty "A man who sits on a.. A carridge! Yes a carriedge! And, and transports items from one village to another! There.. Seen him.. On carts! Don't know the boy's name though.. Probably something with a K"

3, The third one was still laying on the ground.

Batsu sighed as he was given orders from Masaraku. Once again, the girl took the reigns of a mission and started acting as such. Granted that this was the way of the Hoshigaki and Batsu wasn't exactly leadership material. Still, it didn't make it any less annoying. The medic hesitantly reached for an arrow and readied his bow. He didn't raise the bow to aim but he did do as Masaraku asked.

While Batsu stood there in silence during the interrogation, he watched the mannerisms of the men who were being asked questions. The overall clumsiness, the stench of alcohol in the air, the man passed out on the ground... these guys were clearly piss drunk. In the back of Batsu's mind, he secretly hoped his life wouldn't turn out like this when he gets older. Even though they were drunk, one of them manged to verify the guys inhabitants in the area. He was a firm believer in the adage that 'a drunk heart speaks a sober mind' so he believed what was being said. However it wasn't him making the ultimate decision. Masaraku was holding the poor guy. All he could do was side eye her as he waited for what happened next.

Masaraku picked up the bird watcher again, so much for the welcome party, bunch of drunks. She continued to drain Bird Watcher's chakra, she should be getting close to half of his chakra if she measured right. Once she got above that she might stop. That depended on if his story checked out with the villagers.

This was taking up more time than what was necessary. The man was identified as one of the villagers --even if by a drunkard--, the booze-hounds weren't coughing up anything else and here the team was... virtually not even coming close to finding the girl. Batsu continued to side-eye Masaraku until he faced the village and started moving towards it. "There's nothing left here for us Masaraku. Let's move on before something happens to the girl." Batsu then turned and looked back at Masaraku, slowing his pace as he walked backwards. "... and if you need more chakra then use mine instead." Batsu then turned and faced the village again and resumed to his normal walking pace. He went back to looking around the area for anything suspicious.

Masaraku dropped the bird watcher and wrapped the tip of her sword. She leaned forward and picked up the small guy in his rope jacket. "Cht, whatever." Secretly she wanted to lay the smack down on some drunkards, but the mission was the priority. She slipped the sword over her shoulder with some loose bandages tied from the crossguard to the tip of the weapon. The village wasn't to far and she wanted to ditch this kid and find the missing girl so that she could get back to training, so she walked behind Batsu.

Batsu's awareness roll(60): The sun is shining and nothing seems to bother the world at this moment.

The two left the drunken men by the lake, talking away their day with meaningless philosophy and random acts of aggresiveness. They procedded up the hill and turned a right where the signs for the crossroad were. It said "Tench" referring to the village's name and "Tench's fishing spot" for the way down the hill to the drunken men. There were multiple routes that could take them down to the long lines of water which had the rice plants sticking out of it. But the two continued along the main road that lead to the scene of the crime. The village. Here, the two needed to find information on whom and where the attackers had taken the girl. Which leads us to...

A capture of an important girl
Part II: "The mourning village"

User Image

They enter the village and a large crowd of people are slowly dissolving. A stage has been the gathering spot for these people that now are walking away, holding eachother in sad embrace. Every face spots some sign for sadness or discontent. The meeting that these people just had, had not been one of good news. A old man, with a cane and a long mustache walks down the stairs that led up to the stage. He must have been the talker. He walks up to a couple where the man is desperately trying to console a woman. Other than that: the village seems healthy. The houses are of the outmost quality wood and design, showing no signs of damages or old colored paint. The streets are clean and animals are kept in their cages or tied to posts. A few vendors could be seen to the east side of the center and to the west there was a park and something that looked like a kindergarden. The stage and some tress blocked the view for what were located in the north. Now the question needs to be asked:

What will you do?

Batsu continued trekking down the road taking in the scenery while en route. After all, he was in unfamiliar territory so the wisest thing to do was to benchmark everything in order to make it safely back to the village... provided that everything went smoothly.

Eventually the duo made it to the entrance of the village. The male read the sign that contained the village'sname and he made a mental note of it as he passed by.Batsu looked at the village from afar he marveled at how tranquil the village must have been. That was short-lived after the male gazed upon the villagers faces. The aura was not a pleasant one People looked quite downtrodden and Batsu could surmise to say that it was due to the disappearance of the girl. Hopefully Masaraku and himself would be able to turn the morale of the village around with finding the missing one... provided that that was the issue from the start.

Batsu made his way towards the stage where he saw an elderly man come down. He figured that he was an elder of some sort so who better to approach? As he made way he came across a couple in which a man was trying desperately to console a woman who was hysterically crying. Batsu couldn't help but to look as he passed by and the empathic portion of the medic crept out as he himself felt his heart sank. In his mind the only thing he could think was "We have to find her... we HAVE to find her." Batsu eventually had to look away and back towards the man who was coming off of the stage. The boy then pulled himself together as he stopped in front of the man. "Hello sir, we are ninja from Kirigakure who were sent to help find the missing female. Any information that you have to help find her would be most appreciated at this time." Batsu then gave the man a courtesy bow after speaking.

The old man came to a halt as he saw the two walk towards him, they were shinobis, he could tell by their forehead protectors. His face turned from sadness to a sincere smile. After Batsu were done talking he slowly made his way towards him and embraced him gently. "I know.. And thank you.. You will do your best" he stopped his embrace and looked up towards his eyes. He wanted the ninja to know his sincere graditude before moving on to the woman. But as he was about to embrace her, he noticed a person strapped in rope. "Oh? Who is this then?" he were somewhat confused but knew the two had good intentions since they were to bring back their beloved gift.

The bird watcher reconginzed the old man's voice and immidiately began to jump and twirk his body around. Anything to come out of the heartless, cold, blue grip that he was trapped in. He tried to shout out "She is a psychopath! Run!" but the muffled sound could not be understood by anyone other than a... Lets say.. A... Wizard? Yes.. A 3000 year old guy who has spent most of his life, gagging people and developing a technique to understand them.
