Ichiou was surprised when Uroko put himself between her and the noise. It felt strange to have someone who was a relative stranger move to protect her from the unknown. And yet in the little time that she had been with him since waking up on the beach she could tell he was the protective type. It made her feel...welcomed in this strange and foreign world she had woken up in. "Thank you." She said a bit shyly and then turned her attention back to the bird.
She stood there for a few moments admiring the colors and markings of the bird. Part of her wondered if she had ever seen a bird like this before, but a bigger part of her pushed those thoughts down. Much as she wanted her memories back she didn't want to dwell on the what if's at the moment. For now she had a safe place to stay and fully recover. One that was taken care of then she would truly worry about her memories. "It sure is a beautiful bird. Such an interesting mix of colors." She said stepped a bit closer to the bird now.

Uroko dipped his head slightly at the mare's thank you - it was maybe a bit foolish for him to have reacted quite as strongly to the mare's startle..but she was quite vulnerable and Uroko felt a bit of a duty to making sure that nothing else hurt her while she healed and recuperated. She had already been through enough.
Deciding to just let the subject be changed he joined her at looking at the bird. "It really is, I don't think I've seen them anywhere else but on this beach, I think they are unique to the area." He commented "Though there are some even more colorful ones in the jungle I've heard, A seathi told me one there is a bird in the jungle which looks like it was once a part of a rainbow....but she also told me that it makes a horrible squawking noise which is kind of a shame..you'd think a beautiful bird would also have a beautiful voice."

Ichiou wondered if they had similar birds at her home..wherever that was. It still bothered her that she could remember nothing but her name, but it was early still and with time her memories would return - at least she hoped they would. Had she admired the birds at her own home, or had she been ignorant to their colorful displays? It was hard to tell, but from now on she felt like she would take the time to enjoy sightings like this. She watched the bird for a while longer. It sat on the branch quietly, occasionally cleaning it's bright feathers with it's beak. What would it be like to fly? Or be as colorful as that bird?
Her thoughts were interrupted by Uroko's next words. She couldn't help but laugh slightly. "Sounds like a very...interesting bird." Colorful but noisy. But weren't all birds noisy to a certain degree. The rustle of wings caught her attention, but this time she did not bolt in fear, though it was disappointing to see the bird go. "Just how did this Seathie get into the jungle?" She asked, they were ocean dwelling animals, and most jungles were a fair distance from the ocean.

Uroko considered her question for a few moment's, tipping his head slightly as he thought about it. "Honestly I never through to ask her." He responded with a slight laugh "Perhaps she watched from the beach or traveled inland on a river ." He mused after a few moments, really he didn't know enough about Seathi to know just how they managed to get around and see things, it must be so limiting living in the water all the time.
Turning he watched the bird as it flew away. "Must be nice to just fly around like that..no need to walk around delta's or tangled brush..just fly right on over it." He stated as the creature vanished into the foliage. Shaking his head slightly he turned his attention back to the mare before him. "Well, what would you like to do now?" He asked her, it was getting later on and soon it would be time to find a place to rest for the night but there was still time if she wanted to look around or find something more to eat.

"I guess that is a mystery we will never know the answer to." She laughed lightly. "Unless you happen to come across that same Seathi again, then you could ask her how she accomplished such a feat." It could be like he said, perhaps there was a river that she swam up, but not knowing the lay of this land or where this jungle he talked about was, it was all just a guess.
"I imagine it has quite a few advantages...but probably some disadvantages as well." Seemed that no matter what form an individual had, whether it was land, sea, air or a mix of them, there was always something that put them at a disadvantage compared to others. At his question Ichiou considered. Glancing around she noted the set of the sun and then turned her attention back to Uroko. "Perhaps it would be best to find a place to rest." She said and then after another moments thought she added. "Tomorrow you can show me around your home and introduce me to your friends." It would be a bit nerve wracking, since she had no memories, but she couldn't hide away from everything waiting for them to come back.

"That sounds like a good plan" Uroko agreed as he too checked the sun's position and considered their options. Considering the day that she had had he did not want to take her too far away - but at the same time he wanted to find a place that would make her feel safe and secure. Knowing the land fairly well it wasn't long before the stallion had an idea in mind and turned back to the mare.
"There is a place not to far from here that should suit, it's well protected from night winds and everything else by deep foliage and it's not to far away so we can come back here to drink in the morning." He told her before motioning with his muzzle down the pathway which followed the water they were standing by "It's just up there a ways - not far at all." He assured her.

Ichiou nodded as he explained about a place not far away. For a moment she was once again reminded of how little she knew about this new land she was in and how she couldn't remember her own past. She forced those thoughts to the back of her mind once more. Sleep would likely not come easy the way that they kept popping up, but she was still feeling tired from her fight with the ocean and with it getting late in the day she knew she had to rest.
"Sounds good." And she could only hope that that turned out true. Ichiou started to talk in the direction he had indicated, but moved slow, waiting for him to lead the way. Damn this not knowing anything sucked.

Knowing that she would still be tired, despite the slight rest, food and water that she had already gotten it would likely take several days for all of her strength to return. Following her as she started off Uroko was quick to take the lead, keeping the pace steady but quiet so that she wouldn't feel the need to rush and keep up with him.
As promised, he didn't lead her very far before they entered the enclosed little grove that he had promised her. "What do you think?" He asked as they entered, it wasn't large but it would be big enough for the two of them and the grass wold make a nice comfortable bed to sleep on. "It looks
like the weather will be nice tonight so I don't think we will need to worry about any rain..but if it does rain the tree canopy should keep us pretty dry."

The little grove was pretty nice looking. If she could keep her mind quiet, then this would likely be an ideal place to rest. Looking over at Uroko she smiled slightly. "It's nice." Her gaze moved to the sky, though that was mostly blocked out by the canopy. It had looked nice earlier, but her most recent experience had proven how quickly the weather could change and that it could do damaging things. Don't think about it, she scolded herself, but it was hard not to. Anyone else would be suffering in the same way that she was right now. What she needed was time more than anything else, she just hoped that it didn't take too much time.
"Good sleeping weather." She commented but honestly she didn't see herself sleeping much tonight. Regardless she found a spot in the grass and settled down. At least it was soft here and she was away from the ocean so that should help a bit. Lowering her head down, Ichiou tried to keep her nagging thoughts at bay so that she might sleep.
