If his own attempts to not help the baby were futile, Freya's certainly worked when he had for a second forgotten himself, but only for a small second. It couldn't be helped it was just the way he was - just as he kept Freya grounded, the blonde Valkyrie did the same for him in turn.
When the little one was finally visible in all of it's tiny glory it was all he could do to not go for the child first. The Mother should get the first honor and so when the demand for water and towels were made he disappeared to do just that.
He as if it were a surreal dream. Wasn't he still in Amity taking classes? No. He was graduated now. Married. Having a scarling. They had wasted no time and he still wouldn't want to undo any of it. Kettil filled a small bowl (baby's first tub) with good clean water (that he double checked to make sure the temperature was right) and got some towels. Soon enough he was back with them, "Here! Water and towels! Time for little boil's first bath~."

The sound of Peder's cry was music to her ears, but only because she was a mother now, and it had already started to warp her brain. She laughed proudly as Peder cried, but her laughter was sharply interrupted by a shove from her sister and some already unwanted advice. Freya gave her a look, before putting her hands in the bowl that Kettil was bringing around. "No one is just standings anywhere, brat." Freya snapped out sharply, as she washed her hands and then turned to pick up the mush covered baby in the crib. Which.. would have to be washed too, now that she looked at it. Perhaps keeping the pumpkin in the crib hadn't been their best idea. Peder was still crying, and showed no signs of stopping. This did not deter Freya - it clearly made her proud to hear how loud and strong his voice was - and she gently settled him into the bowl, and washed the gunk off of his body. She ran her hand over his head, feeling the soft fuzz of not-yet hair that was ready to sprout at any moment. It was hard to tell what color it was, and his eyes were still closed so she couldn't see them either. His skin, however, was a pink tinged tan, and she let out a tiny squeak as she brought him to her bosom. "He takes after yeh, Hooter." She coo'd out, her arms coddling him as if he'd always been there. With a giddy smile, she gazed at her husband. "Yehr a father now." Her expression turned sly as she peered over to her sister. "And yehr an auntie!"

Hel gave Freya an equal look back. The reaper managed to keep her mouth shut from replying with something snarky about how Freya was the one still standing there. It was for the best. It was easily forgotten too, since she had something rather intense to focus on. A little wiggling combination of Kettil and Freya. That was also related to her now. Hel shot Freya another nasty look at she peered at her slyly and made that comment, but for the most part, the reaper stood awkwardly in the background. It was like a trainwreck. She couldn't stop looking at the babe, and thus she also didn't know what to do so...Oh, wait. Right. In an effort to have something to do to stop this weird feeling, Hel sidled on over to the crib, and stared down at the pumpkin pieces. She should...clean those up. Yeah... The reaper seemed a bit hesitant to touch them though. Like maybe a new pumpkin would suddenly spring up from her touching a piece and it would have her FEAR, but no. That was stupid. Pumpkins came from going to the patch, and this was not the patch. Steeling herself, Hel started to collect the pieces to throw away. "...Hey..." Her voice was a bit quiet. "...Do...your ma and pa know...?" She cast a glance at Freya as she asked.

Kettil let Freya bathe the wee scareling, trying not to hover or be overly anxious to hold his own child. He was trying so hard to be patient while glowing with pride all at the same time. The pride got even more immense when Freya informed him that he was a Father now, "Yess~, he's so perfect I could explode," he proclaimed all too happily.
He was on a brink of explosion and then Hel reminded him of his mistake.
The Muut deflated just a tad and looked at the ground, "W..Well we were going to send those invites to everyone. Like to both sides of the family and our friends...Then I forgot to mail them like I promised I would.. I just ..."
He was a failure.

Freya hadn't even thought about the fact that the letters hadn't gone out to the family. Not just their parents, but the sisters, and all of the cousins, and aunts, and uncles, and - Nobody knew. Nobody knew that Freya and Kettil had been expecting this precious, loud little bundle of joy that now laid in her arms, and she was going to be dealing with that. Her face paled, and she wobbled a little. "I thinks I needs teh sits down."

Hel had to stop and stare at the two of them incredulously. At first they were both over the moon and elated beyond belief with the arrival of Peder and now they were both...like they had storm clouds hanging over heads. Both of them. The reaper sneered, her lips curling up briefly. " Oh--" She started with a growl, squishing one of the pumpkin pieces beneath her hand as she leveled a look at the two of them. "Snap out of it, will ya? It is not the end of the world! Just be prepared for them all to come knocking at your door and for them to nag and nag and nag at you all for not telling them sooner!" Hel huffed, and picked up the rest of the pumpkin pieces, juggling them in her arms. "Where are your damn announcements? I will send them out! You two are going to be busy now, so I will address and mail them!" It wasn't an offer. It was a demand.

The growl sort of had Kettil straightening up and flying right for the most part, at least enough to where he was able to say in a more chipper tone, "They're already addressed! No envelopes needed and stuff, they're sort of like post cards." It seemed more efficient than pushing them into envelopes.
Also then everyone would see they were having a precious bundle of awesome when they handled the card.
Then he turned toward Freya and made grabby hands for his son, "Let me hollldddd?"
He glanced at Hel, "I uh..." Okay he was having a lapse of memory so he now gazed at Freya again with wide eyes, "What drawer did we stick them in again?"
Also give baby. Give baby to him. More grabby hand motions were made.

Freya was preparing for the nagging - and that was why she looked so horrified. When Hel offered (demanded?) to send out the invitations, the horror melted into something akin to absolute disgusting gratitude. She immediately handed the baby over to Kettil, and flung herself at her sister, wrapping her arms around the ghoul and holding her in a big bear hold. "Yehr the very best sister in the whole wide world, and I loves yeh so much it bursts out of me like an alien. I am so lucky yeh decides teh keeps me." She kissed Hel's forehead, and then pointed tearfully at the bottom left drawer of the desk. "They're right there." And yet she hadn't let go yet.

Oh, they were already addressed then? That was good. A bit of work done. She probably just needed to stamp them and oh...oh wait. Those postcards were for...before Peder was born. Hrm. She'd need a marker. Change "we're having" to "we had". Yup. Hel was pulled out of her thoughts abruptly when she was grabbed by Freya. "Ack!" She patted the older ghoul on the shoulders briefly before she wrapped her arms around her and returned the hug, squeezing her sister just as tightly for a few moments before she let go, and started to lightly push her away. She was still exasperated, after all. "Ya, ya, I know, and you are correct, you are." Though that briefly had Hel's lips quirking up before that resolved determination to send some postcards came back. Alright. Serious business time. "I am going to take them and send them out...I shall...leave you two to your new...babe..." She then stared at Freya. She obviously needed to be let go now.

A soft quiet 'YESSS~!' left Kettil as he got a chance to hold his son, it took everything he had to not go prancing about with the newly born scareling now that he was holding the poor child in his arms. Barely out of the pumpkin and already Peder was being assaulted with so much love and affection.
"Thank you, Hel! We really appreciate it," he said showing some semblance of still being in the 'real world' with the two female Valkyries.
Kettil just let the sisters have their 'moment' together while he made a series of silly faces at his son, none of these faces were very clearly seen by the child, but Kettil didn't care. "Glad you came to uh ... meet Peder and help us with the whole thing~."
"Freya! Come look he's yawning~..." It was his way of trying to free Hel from the grasp of Freya.
Soon he was lost again in scareling world.

Freya kissed her sister on the head and squeezed her one last time, before finally letting her go. "We really do. Yehr the best sister - friend, I could ask for." It would be the first time, and maybe the last, that it felt more important to let Hel know that she was a friend, more than a sister. And then Kettil told her that her son was yawning, and Freya helplessly drowned in the sudden focus of the tiny, squirming, useless little ball of babe that she and Kettil had made. "Ach, Ach, look at yehr little, ach, so cute, so cute - " She was lost, and unable to form sentences. Her baby was here.
