Topaz looked thoughtful. "I think I will go, we may can make things worth our while. I could use the booze and I bet you need some more jewels for your collection." She said nodding. "Come now, let's go and get something to wear... if you are coming with me."

The fire elemental tore through the woods as fast as she could, eager to escape the presence of Porath. Fear shot through her like wildfire, and everything she ran through smoldered from her touch. At last she stopped, exhausted from her run in.... she didn't know long she had been in that sword but it felt so long. She curled up underneath a live oak, the multitude of leaves underneath her flaring up before being tamped down by her hands to create a small ash nest. She shivered, not from her lack of clothes, for her fire kept her warm, but from pure blind terror. Her dying ember-like eyes darted around the forest, searching for Porath, for she feared that he was coming for her with another stone sword in hand.

[Enter Aoi from Shiro Mountain.]
Slightly dirty and greatly disheveled, Aoi walked through Kuro Forest in search of the fire elemental, though it wasn't much of a search when everything the fiery elemental touched smoldered. The path of scorched forest made it easy to track her, but now his only problem was communication. He didn't know what language she spoke, which depended on how long she was trapped in that stone sword.
It wasn't long before Aoi found the nude elemental and remembered she needed something to wear else she die from exposure to the elements. She was weak from what happened, so she wouldn't last long, but maybe not. She proved him wrong by escaping from the sword instead of dying. Pulling out his cigar case, Aoi thought of what article of clothing he should pull out for her. He thought a dress would only get ruined. Jeans and a tee shirt could work, but she might be adverse to it. If only he knew how old she was, then he could decide. "I guess a simple robe and blanket would work, he decided after too much thought, pulling out the simple clothing and draping them over his arm before tucking his cigar case away.
Clearing his throat, Aoi snapped a few twigs to gain the fire elemental's attention, though he was sure to stay far enough away so he wouldn't appear to be a threat to her. "Ah, hello? Do you speak English? Is salām 'alaykum? Shlomo? Néih hóu? Namaste? Konnichiwa?" English, Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, she had to know at least one of these languages, even if it was a dialect. If not, they would have a difficult time communicating. At least initially. His locket was enchanted as a translator for people he allowed to wear it, they'd have access to whatever language and dialect he knew, but he wouldn't give it to her unless he could express his intentions.

The fire elemental bolted upright, hands flying up to protect her neck and heart, at the sound of someone snapping twigs. She was afraid that it was Porath again. A few moments later nothing had happened, so she opened her eyes to look at a slightly scruffy-looking man with long black hair marred by a slight scar next to his ear. He began to speak but she had no idea what he was saying. She looked at him with big ember-like eyes underneath ash-grey hair, trying to figure out what he was saying, before finally shaking her head, saying, "I do not know what you are speaking," in the Old Norse of her birth-land, before thinking that he may have spoken in many languages, so she replied in return, repeating the same words in Old French, Gaelic, and haltingly in Latin. And grasping at straws, she struggled remember the last place she traveled via volcano, she had landed in a place humans had said was called Mauna Loa. "Ahh... Aloha?" she remembered at last, immensely pleased at that. She looked up the man again, smile fading as she tried to figure out what he was trying to do, arms dropping as she calmed down. She noticed that he was dressed strangely, but over his arm were clothes more familiar. Does he mean to give them to me? Is he trying to help me? Why?

Aoi was relieved when he understood the fire elemental. She knew Norse, French, Gaelic, and Latin, but he was as good at Latin as she was. The language was basically dead to him by the time he reached Europe. He understood the three former languages better. At least he knew she was from Europe. It was honestly difficult to tell if he couldn't look at her properly. "Greetings, young miss," he spoke in a dialect similar to her halting Latin. It was the one language that hadn't changed much in the last thousand years. The Norse was wasn't too familiar to him, the dialect wasn't one he understood well, it sounded older than the dialects he knew. So was her French and Gaelic. Language barriers were troublesome indeed. "I have some clothes for you, please try them on. After you freed yourself from that awful man, you must need some basic necessities."
He held out his arm that held the robe and blanket, remaining still so she could approach him. He wasn't so confident that she had the confidence to trust in him. "I am named Zaya and I am an elemental of water. I fought with that awful man when you broke free of him." Again, his Latin was as halting as hers, but he understood it better than the other languages.

The elemental's face fell slightly as he replied in Latin, it wasn't one she was good in, but quickly got over it in light of the fact she actually understood what he was saying, and he seemed just as good with it as she was. He definitely was trying to give her some clothes as he did hand them out towards her. She never necessarily liked clothes, they burned too easily, but humans like using them and she liked looking like one. So she started to reach for the clothes, but paused the instant he mentioned him and drew away sharply. The fire elemental looked at him, terror growing until Zaya mentioned that he had fought him. Her eyes slide over to his scar again, recognizing it now as one that she had made while as a sword; it had the kind of burn you get from heated rock, but in a slash like a sword. That made it marginally better on her, anyone that fought him was generally nicer than he was. She reached out and took the robe and threw it on, finagling with it until she got it right, not really caring whether or not he saw anything. "Thank you water elemental Zaya. I am Kira. I am sorry that I hurt you when I was Po-" Then her voice clammed up as terror clawed up her throat and she crashed down, gasping and pulling her new robe tighter. Fire flared up in her hair, sadly singing her new robe's collar, as she closed her eyes and tried fighting it. A minute later, it subsided and she tried a change in topic. "Where am I? What age, no, year is this?" She said a little edgily, trying hard to make it like she didn't just get that scared at his name. Then she remembered she didn't open her eyes yet, and they flew open.

Aoi remained perfectly still as the fire elemental struggled with her pain and fear. He said nothing as terror crept into her expression; didn't look away as she looked at him again, searching for something on his face, before taking the clothes he offered. He didn't bat an eye at her nude body, he really didn't care for nudity. What was so interesting about flesh and fat? He never felt an inkling of attraction. Also, he lost all sense of modesty years ago, so it really didn't matter to him in the slightest. A nude body was a nude body.
The water elemental patiently waited as the fire elemental fumbled with the robe. He wondered when the last time she wore clothing, but soon that thought went out of his mind as she started to speak. She seemed normal-ish until she started to say a certain word. Then she clammed up faster than anyone he had seen in a long while. Whatever she was going to say, it caused her immense mental anguish. Her hair even flamed up. I guess this means she wasn't born to human parents, he thought as he knelled beside her. After a brief moment of thought, the elemental reached out his hand and caressed the top of her ash-grey hair. Her hair was still burning hot, but he didn't mind the pain. It wasn't the first time in his life a fire elemental burned him. "The year is 2015, you are in a forest called Kuro Forest, translated in means Black Forest, and it belongs to a town called Kuro Shiro, which means Black White. Um, man can fly in the sky and even reached the moon. The Roman Empire has risen and fallen, as has many others. The dominant language is called English, and almost no one believes in magic anymore. At least not the kind that created you or gave me my powers." He spoke with the gentle voice he used to speak to his children whenever he put them to bed. The fire elemental needed a gentle touch. "Don't worry about the robe. Let us just focus on getting you into town. You're far too exposed here where anyone can appear. Come on," he said as he stood up and held out his hand to her, an easy smile on his face.

Kira's blinked in surprise at what year he claimed it was. That came as such a shock she barely heard the rest, though what she did hear was impossibly ridiculous. The last time she remembered walking the earth, she had walked the streets of Pompeii beside the fire elementals that had been born there. They had spoken of how Rome had been raised around the time they were born and she had laughed because they told it would last centuries longer. And now she was back in the world after 2000 years, all she felt about that comment was hollow. I've been trapped for 2000 years? Could it really have been so long? "2000 years, she mumbled in Old Norse, trying to get the feeling around her tongue, and was surprised to feel a hand on her head. He speaking to her gently, as if to a child. If she hadn't been in the state she was she probably would have burned his hand, but at the moment it was a little soothing. She nodded at his request to leave the forest and took his hand up. She was still shaking, not only from everything that had happened to her, but from weakness. She had spent so much time cramped up and spent so much energy trying to get out, it had been a miracle that had managed to run as far and as fast as had. She needed something comforting and something to burn. "Thank you for everything done so far, but may I ask for food? It's been 2000 years since I had anything to keep me burning." she asked, switching to back Latin, "I will repay," Kira added as fast the language would allow. She had no idea how she would do it, but she didn't want him to go too far out his way for her.

Aoi hoisted the fire elemental Kira to her feet as soon as she took his hand and immediately felt how light she was compared to her body structure. It surprised him as much as she was surprised by everything he had said, though he was pretty sure she tuned out as soon as the words 2015 came out of his mouth. But he didn't comment on it. No point really. From what she said, she was trapped in that sword for 2000 years, so everything came as a big shock to her. Ah, but she's my senior. Better not piss her off then, he thought as he shrugged away her offer to repay him for food.
Money wasn't an issue. Aoi didn't have to come after her once he parted from the psychopath. He chose to come and help. It would have been easy for the wind spirits to help her, they always managed to pull off the most unbelievable feats. "It's repayment enough that you haven't grilled me like salmon for suddenly appearing, so let's all it even, okay?" He continued speaking in halting Lain as he led her out of the forest while showing her a relaxed and easy smile. "Besides," he said, "you're my senior in terms of age, so it's only natural that I offer my assistance. I'm also used to taking care of people." The water elemental spent most of his life taking care of people, namely his large family. Helping her was second nature for him despite his overall personality.

Kira smiled at his relief that she hadn't burnt him, though she still didn't approve of him paying for her meal and will most likely still find some way to do so. She did raise an eyebrow at his comment on seniority though, immensely pleased at his respect for elders, even though she had never considered herself one. And now considering what little she had gotten from him before, she was definitely no elder in this world. "I would call myself a senior, I've only truly lived a 1000, 2000 were spent inside a sword without really feeling or seeing anything. I'm as much novice as I am elder right now Zaya" She told him as they walked away, keeping a hand on him to prevent herself from falling on her shaking legs.

Aoi walked slow for Kira's sake, surprised by how weak she was on her feet, but then again, she did say she had been trapped for 2000 years. The fire elemental was weakened by her confinement. If she was Akane, he would have offered to carry her. However, she was not his sister and she had her own pride. If she needed assistance walking or to be carried, she would tell him. Though she said she wasn't much of a senior, she still held seniority over him. "I find that experience, rather than age, determines the amount of wisdom a person possesses, Domina Kira," he said as he lead her out the forest. keeping his gaze firmly ahead of him and his expression unreadable. "And I say you've have 1000 years worth of wisdom from living life and 2000 from enduring absolute pain. You're definitely my senior." He was silent as they reached the edges of the forest and entered the main road leading to Kuro Shiro.
[Okay, then exit Aoi to Town Square.]

[enter Chua]
Chua could hear the roars of the battle in the distance, but she was still wounded and needed to sleep. She stopped only long enough to hunt an elk and then curled up in a hidden rocky overhang. She took a rest, to heal.
