He scratched at his chin while holding the menu with one hand. "True, though trying to keep that five o'clock shadow from growing into a full on grizzly bear takes some maintenance." It was kind of dark in this place, then he remembered he had sunglasses and a hat on. To which he quickly removed both, shaking out his shaggy brown hair. Settling his menu down onto the table, he was already decided on what he wanted, Zascha slipped from the booth. "Alright then. I'll go up to the bar and get the drinks that way so they don't ask questions about your age." He left here there for a moment, quickly making his way across the dining room to the bar. Leaning against the counter as he ordered the drinks. It wasn't long before he returned, settling her drink in front of her and returning to his seat with a large glass filled and foaming at the top with a dark stout. No cheap beers for him at this place thanks. He could get a six pack of whatever at the store if he wanted later. Their waitress finally arrived to take their order. "Ladies first." He said, while taking a sip of his beer.

She chuckled a little as he mentioned that it would be a lot of work to keep it maintained. She looked up at him with an arched brow and then nodded in his direction. She made herself as comfortable as she could and then smirked at him. "Sounds rough." Her voice was playful, and then turned her attention back toward the menu, scanning it quietly. When he got up to go get the drinks she offered him a small smile nodded in acknowledgement. She was never really sure when some one was going to ask for her ID or not so she wasn't going to bother trying to order her own she was glad he was going to grab her one.
She grinned as he returned and then grabbed her drink and took a sip. "Oh!" she said pausing and then nodded at the waitress. "I would love a ribeye with mashed potatoes." She was excited to get some potatoes that weren't fake. She put her menu down adn then looked at Zascha waiting for him to place his order.

Now it was his turn. Ah, yes. He had been waiting for this moment for what seemed like forever. "New York strip, rare please. With uhhhhhh baked potato. Cheese, sour cream, onions, bacon." Folding his menu shut, he placed it over top of Harlow's. To which the waitress quickly took them both then scurried away to put in their order. Zascha took another sip of his beer before settling it back down on the table. Drumming the fingers of his left hand against the table once in succession from pinky to pointer. His brain kind of drawing a blank. Small talk small talk. Never truly his strong suit. Zascha could bullshit his way for the most part but sitting face to face with her like this... "So... you look nice today. I just thought I would put that out there."

As he placed the menu's down she offered him another smile. She was pretty horrible at small talk as well. Honestly she was extra horrible at it this time because she wasn't sure what this counted as. Was it a date? Was it just them being friends? She wasn't that sure at all. She still wasn't good at flirting, and she was pretty shy when it came to guys a good amount of the time. She too lifted her drink and took a sip.
But his compliment made her cheeks turn a little red with blush. She laughed a little and looked down sheepishly. "Thank you." That was it, she wasn't sure if she could continue through the night with out knowing if this was a date or not. "So uh." She started placing her drink back down in front of her and looking back at him. "What exactly are we doing right now?" She wouldn't be complaining if it was a date honestly. The day was going pretty great and well she did like him a good bit. That always helped.

He smiled, catching her blush but making no indication of notice. It wasn't an over bearing blush, one that took complete control of her face. But one that made her look lovelier. It was hard to describe. Oh s**t. Had she suddenly caught amnesia or something? Oh man, had she bumped her head somewhere? Zascha had heard of people who with just the slightest tap to the head would forget who or where they were and he started to look a little worried. But...well he shouldn't jump to conclusions. Just play it cool. Maybe her memory would just come back. He was just being irrational. Yea yea, that was it. "I'm not sure what you mean? Having dinner?"

Harlow had to admit the look of concern on his face was priceless. She laughed and then shook her head with a smile on her face. She was definitely still confused it didn't answer his question at all. "No, no," she started trying to stop her laughter and gather her stuff enough to talk. Once she did she smiled at him once again. "i mean, what is this exactly. Does this count as a date?"
She wanted to try to hear what he said with out having to mention date but she figured there wasn't going to be another way that she was going to get that point across unless she said it in plain words of course. He was a boy after all, she was unsure of what else to say to him honestly.

Oh. Well, he was glad it wasn't amnesia. Zascha could better deal with this now knowing that fact. It took a load off his shoulders. Plus it would have kind of sucked if she had forgotten everything that they had done today. It was pretty fun actually. He couldn't remember how long it had been since the last time he'd laughed so much. Or how good it felt just to spend time with another person. No business involved. Just shooting the s**t. The look of concern quickly turned into a blank stare and just as quickly to the next expression of awkward nervousness as his own emotions quickly processed in his head. He scratched at the side of his face with one finger, not really wanting to presume. "Do you want it to be?"

Oh no, he looked awkward, now she was starting to feel nervous too. She didn't want to make this something that it wasn't that was for sure. She didn't want to ruin a friendship that just started. She nervously tore at the napkin that was in front of her as she waited for the answer. His confused face was pretty adorable, she had to say, but on the other hand his blank face was something that made her heart skip a beat. And the answer was somethign else that made her pretty uncomfortable. What was he going to think if it was a date? Did he even like her?
"uh, well I mean." She mumbled a little as she talked but she then paused and shrugged "Only if you want it to be." She offered him a small smile she was hoping he would say yes, but mostly she was hoping that this wasn't going to ruin her chances as at least a friend with him.

Green eyes flickered to the napkin she was tearing up. Now he was making her feel awkward with his awkwardness. That wasn't good. He took a mental breath, clearing his thoughts before he gave her a soft smile. Reaching across the table, he clasped one hand over hers to stop her from tearing the poor napkin into even tinier bits. "Then its a date."

Well this was turning into what she felt was one awkward thing after another. She grew a little frustrated, she had a tendency of thinking things like this was her fault. Most of the time they weren't but that is what she always thought. Before she could say something awkward once again he put her hand over hers and then said that it was a date.
She smiled and she could feel the heat rush to her cheeks once again. Being pale really sucked if you didn't want to want anyone to know what you were feeling. She adjusted her hand so that she could rub her thumb against the side of his and then spoke. "Okay." She grinned at him before pausing the confused look returning to her face. "Oh, so now what?" She was never really good at this whole date thing either...

Chuckling, he gave her hand a firm squeeze. Locking eyes with her, he leaned in close over the table. His face just a few inches from hers, he tilted his head just slightly. "Now," He whispered. "We relax and eat because our dinner is here." And just as he sat back their waitress arrived with their food. Releasing her hand with one last small squeeze, he unfolded his own napkin. Laying it in his lap. When his plate was settled in front of him a look of pure joy came to his face as he took a long sniff. Ah yes. He was so ready for this.

As he started to lean over the counter her breathing probably stopped, she had dated a few people in the past, so it wasn't like it was -that- much of a big deal but at the same time it didn't make her any less shy about anything about relationships. Her brown eyes locked with his and she held her breath. But when he spoke and then sat back she couldn't help but to laugh a goofy grin grew on her face nad she returned the squeeze to her hand.
When the food came she wasted no time getting her fork and knife ready to dig in. Her first bite concluded with a "Mmm." And she glanced over at him. "Good choice!" Yayoi I'm not sure if you want to keep going or call this one finished <3 Let me know. :3

It wasn't long before time slipped away Though it was easy to loose track when you had good food and good company. But for now it was time to go back to Deus. To return to the grind stone. At least they could have a good time for one night. Zascha stepped back through the portal to the light house, a small frown tugged at the corner of his lips to be here again but he quickly tucked it away. Replacing it with a light smile. Turning he waited for Harlow to come through. "Guess we better get the young lady back to her dorm before the nanny's figure out she's stayed out past her bed time." Yin-Bug He can at least walk her home he's not a complete b*****d lol, so we'll just skip a little bit a head. >3>

Harlow really enjoyed the day, it was the perfect place for them to go and honestly she was really enjoying the time spent not on campus. She hadn't been there for too long but at the same time she was completely tired of it. It was refreshing to get out to do something different for a little while. And being with some one that she truely enjoyed made it that much better.
She grinned at him as she pushed through the portal an then laughed at his comment. "Yeah bed time. She shook her head and chuckled. "Honestly I have a ton of reading to get done." Her voice was a little frustrated, but she woudln't have done the day any differently. "Thank you for today." she said grinning up at him.

"Yeaaaa reading." He rubbed at the back of his neck. Probably should do some of that himself sometime. Though he preferred a more on hands experience than learning from a book. But he guessed book smarts came in hand from time to time. Although with past experiences so far with Deus, nothing he ever read in any book or pamphlet ever prepared him for what he had come across. "You're welcome. We should do this again sometime. Soon."
