伊藤 斑鳩 -- Itō Ikaruga Ikaruga looked down at what was offered and quirked an eyebrow... She hadn't seen this snack before. Back when she was alive the only sweet food she really ate was dango, and even then she hated the texture. Regardless, it would have been rude if she declined the snack, so the young lieutenant plucked a stick from the box and nibbled at the end of it. It was sweet to be sure, but not overwhelmingly so... And the texture was similar to a cookie, so it wasn't chewy or mushy at all. Final opinion: Rather delightful.
"Thank you, Captain Agito," Ikaruga said through a smile. She totally ignored her earlier request at calling her 'Suzuki', as that would have been highly unprofessional. "And as for your company," she added. "I would be delighted to have you around."
She continued nibbling on the stick as opposed to sucking on it like the captain did. She didn't want the soggy bread to touch her tongue or she might gag. While they two stood, Ikaruga contemplated returning for a nap, but knew she wouldn't be able to sleep knowing her Captain was somewhere she couldn't follow. Or, rather, she could, but she would probably slow him down. Once Captain Morrison got going there was little that would stop him.

5th Division Captain - Agito Suzuki Suzuki finds a great spot to sit in: in the shade yet close to Ikaruga and not at a angle where she's turned away. Suzuki plops down with her legs crossed and leans her back against a conveniently placed wall placing her katana in her lap while watching Ikaruga enjoying the pocky. She must have never had it before, it was kinda cute. The human world is filled with delicious treats like pocky and other wonderful things, Suzuki herself was amazed and fascinated with the human world often visiting it in her spare time.
Suzuki noticed that Ikaruga ignored her request but just shrugged at the fact. Suzuki was sure that she'll relax and loosen up soon enough and decided not to push it any further even though it bothered her like a bad itch she couldn't reach. Suzuki was tiered of savoring her pocky stick and finished it off and quickly loaded another one in and started nibbling on it. "So, you said you were always like this? I'll listen if you want tell" Suzuki asks in a curious tone in a relaxed manner playing with her pocky stick in her mouth wanting to continue the conversation but not wanting to be obvious trying to play cool.

伊藤 斑鳩 -- Itō Ikaruga The captain's offer was interesting, to say the least. She could talk about why she had a sleeping problem. Ikaruga could divulge why she had an irrational fear of falling asleep... That, however, just seemed too out of character. Captain Morrison was the only one who knew why she had insomnia, and Ikaruga wanted to keep it that way. "I apologize, Captain Agito," she finally said, swallowing the bit of pocky she nibbled off. "But that isn't something I'm comfortable talking about." In truth, she had no real idea why that was. It wasn't like it was that big of a deal, but it was definitely embarrassing and it could have very well cause her demotion if it got to the right (or, in this case, wrong) people.
It was something that just failed to go away with time... Over two hundred years of it and she still had difficulties falling asleep. You'd think somebody who was so long lived would have figured that she wouldn't be dying in her sleep out of the blue. She was quite young (for a Shinigami) and in peak physical condition. But something about the prospect of never waking up again just terrified her. After she died, too many unknowns sprouted up in her thoughts. She shook her head softly and took another small bite of the sweet she held delicately in her hand.
Instead of letting the silence stick around after she (in her opinion) told the captain off, she decided to take a seat next to the captain and hum a soft tune. Suzuki may not have been Aiko, but she was damn well close... Well, not really. But she was small like Aiko. That was good enough.

5th Division Captain - Agito Suzuki Suzuki shrugs her shoulders as if it didn't matter and smiles gently. Suzuki couldn't and wouldn't force it out of Ikaruga, but she couldn't say it didn't bother her a little bit. "That's a nice tune" Suzuki says leaning back, trying to take her mind off of it while wearing a relaxed and soft expression and listening to the tune. Everyone has their secrets or things they don't want to talk about, it's natural and Suzuki tries to respect that but she is curious by nature and really couldn't stand secrets. So a mini inner war between her curiousness and her respect breaks out and in the end Suzuki was able to not give in and just continues enjoying Ikaruga's company; now somewhat sleepy from the gently humming tune.
"Really nice.. Suzuki says sliding down a little more becoming even more relaxed with her eyes shut before letting out a small yawn. "Where did you learn it from?" Suzuki asks fighting sleep wanting to continue the conversation.
Suzuki then realizes that she might be being rude: Ikaruga was obviously tired and here she is falling asleep. Suzuki sits back up in a more awake and alert position now completely awake wearing an apologetic look for a moment before going back to her normal happy go lucky expression as if it didn't happen then looking to Ikaruga. It's pretty rare for Suzuki to let her guard down around someone she just met, like that; relaxing setting or not. Maybe Suzuki thought of Ikaruga as a older sister, she certainly seemed like one. Suzuki shrugs at those thoughts and scooches over closer to Ikaruga while holding the box of pocky in the middle of each other for both to eat from. "Help yourself" Suzuki offers while smiling like a idiot.

伊藤 斑鳩 -- Itō Ikaruga Ikaruga smiled softly at Captain Agito. Ikaruga was hoping that the child would fall asleep in her lap... She'd have free rein over her head then. She could have done all the hair ruffling she wanted while she happily dozed away. Maybe it'd soothe Ikaruga's thoughts, which kept drifting back and forth between her own captain, the situation at hand, and now, thanks to Suzuki, her past. Not like that was a bad thing. If Ikaruga squinted hard enough, it made little Suzuki resemble Aiko. Sort of. She had to squint pretty hard to see it. But, all those hopes faded when the little thing stood up straighter and scooted closer. Regardless, the company was nice. The vigil would be a little less bothersome with the Captain by her side.
"Hm," Ikaruga murmured, putting a finger to her chin. "I think I heard it in the world of the living a few years ago. Back when I could still go on missions without wearing a seal." In fact, Ikaruga remembered the moment she heard it quite clearly. She was in a park where a young man hummed along to the tune as he was writing it. Sadly enough, the poor man died a month later... She was in charge of his release. She had only ever heard the song in its entirety once, but she could remember it as clear as day. It was one of her favorites. The young man managed to mix 'modern' music, and 'older' instruments back from the time when Ikaruga died.
When Suzuki offered the box, Ikaruga wrinkled her brow. Was the Captain trying to get her fat? If she ate enough of these things she'd gain weight, and goodness knows Ikaruga didn't need to pack on any more unnecessary baggage... Still, though. These things were delectable. She finished the stick she had and started nibbling on another one. She stopped humming, partly because the tune was making her nostalgic, but that could have very well been the situation at hand.
Seeing no other outlet for conversation, Ikaruga finally looked down at Agito's Zanpakutō. She pointed one dainty finger at it and smiled. "Whats its name?" She asked.

5th Division Captain - Agito Suzuki Suzuki looks to where Ikaruga is pointing only to see her Zanpakutō laying still in it's sheath while leaning against the wall within arms reach. Suzuki let's out a small, nostalgic and warm smile as she reaches out to grab her Zanpakutō with her left arm and bringing it over to her and Ikaruga. Her name is Kinshin, Most of the kanji is the same as Knight (Kinshi)" Suzuki says while holding Kinshin in her sheath horizontally while Suzuki gazes into the pretty ruby like gem in the hilt. "It's a simple name" Suzuki mutters softly looking at Ikaruga with a soft smile before putting Kinshin back to her left side, now closer and more accessible; now almost looking like Kinshin was sitting beside her. Suzuki is very close to Kinshin and treats her like a friend, maybe even a mother the way she acts sometimes, but one fact remains: Kinshin has always been her for Suzuki and that's what Suzuki treasures the most.
Suzuki then looks over to Ikaruga with a now curious look. What's your Zanpakutō's name? And what are they like?" Suzuki asks in the perspective that Zanpakutō's are human/shinigami (You know what I mean) and treating them as such.

伊藤 斑鳩 -- Itō Ikaruga Ikaruga pondered on the question, wondering whether or not she should answer... It probably would be the polite thing to do, considering she had just asked Captain Agito about hers. Her face turned to one of sorrow. Zanpakutō's were strange, to say the least. Part of the Shinigami's very essence was implanted on a blank blade, and thus, their Zanpakutō spirit is born. Ikaruga's resembled her sister. She squeezed the bamboo handle of the umbrella before smiling mournfully. "Amayako." She said rather faintly. She could feel almost a tugging sensation on the sleeve that touched the umbrella's handle. The girl within the blade disliked Ikaruga's sadness. It made the peaceful rainfall within her realm rather turbulent. Ikaruga glanced over at the sword and sighed deeply.
'You know, Nee-sama,' chimed an old memory. 'If you sigh like that, you'll scare happiness away.' Ikaruga blinked back a few tears, making absolutely sure the Captain didn't see them... She'd wish that particular line would cease to bring itself up.
"She's..." Ikaruga started, trying to press onward. "Sullen. Quiet... Whenever I come to visit she manages to make tea, however. I have no real idea how, but it never fails to make an appearance." She felt another tug, as if Amayako were telling her to press onward. "It always rains in her realm," she continued. "A gentle pitter patter that echoes throughout the forest of her realm. She's about your size, I'd say... But not near as cheerful. I've tried making her smile numerous times but I tend to fail miserably at it." Ikaruga gave a rather hollow sounding laugh. Being so tired wasn't doing much for her mood. "But, behind the sad visage that she sports, Amayako..." Ikaruga swallowed hard, trying to keep the tears at bay. "She protects me. I know I'm never alone with her around."
She stopped rather suddenly there, and took another stick of pocky. She bit into it rather harshly before staring at the portal. She didn't want to speak of this anymore.

5th Division Captain - Agito Suzuki Suzuki way looking at Ikaruga the whole time and while she couldn't see her tears, Suzuki could tell she was sad and filled with Sorrow; she knew that she must have stuck a nerve by accident. Suzuki didn't understand but she herself felt sad and wanted to cheer Ikaruga up, so she thought to herself: What would cheer Ikaruga up...? When Suzuki was sad she often ate sweets or read stories, and since Ikaruga was already eating something sweet Suzuki decided to go to option B.
"Excuse me." Suzuki said laying her head on Ikaruga's lap like a pillow so she could have a good and comfortable view of the sky. "Sorry I have a better time telling stories when looking up at the sky" Suzuki said in a gentle yet slightly embarrassed tone. What she said was true even if it didn't make much sense, and laying on Ikaruga's lap was her idea but it was still embarrassing. "Ahem! So this is one of my favorite stories!" Suzuki said jumping straight into the story without giving any context of why she was telling it.
It was the tale of Sleeping Beauty, and Suzuki was really into telling it: she would even make sound effects while not the best and child like, added to the story some what. And near the end Suzuki lite up as red as the setting sun. A-a-a-and he leaned down... And kissed her. Ahem!" Suzuki said looking away from Ikaruga and coughing into her hand. "They they lived happily ever after! The end." Suzuki said looking back at Ikaruga with a simple and soft smile.

伊藤 斑鳩 -- Itō Ikaruga Truth be told, Ikaruga wasn't really paying attention. When Captain Agito laid her head down on her lap, Ikaruga's hand tensed. She didn't look down at Suzuki, but she stared straight forward... Through the portal and through the buildings. She was shocked. Over time her hand relaxed, and she imagined she was somewhere else. A sakura tree overlooking a small village, gazing out at it. Ikaruga's hand reached out ever so slowly, stopping once or twice. She was hesitant. Something deep down told Ikaruga this wouldn't help, but... She had to try, right? The blonde planted her hand softly on Agito's forehead, and gently brushed the hair from her eyes.
Ikaruga didn't say anything. She didn't even make a sound. But she continued running her hands through Suzuki's hair. If Ikaruga closed her eyes, it was almost as if she was with Aiko again. She didn't comment on the story, nor did she even acknowledge what she was doing. It was highly inappropriate, and Suzuki could very well punish her for such behavior.
But she was finally at the point of no return, and she didn't rightfully care. In this situation, Ikaruga told her duty to be damned. Slowly but surely, her eyes welled up, and tears slowly started to careen down her face. She didn't even know she could still cry. Over two hundred years and she had to lock poor little Aiko away, and completely ignore her traumatic experience as if nothing happened. When Ikaruga finally opened her eyes, she looked down at Suzuki and put a finger to her lips, pantomiming 'shhh'. She didn't want Agito to tell anybody what had happened, but in the end it was up to the Captain's discretion. Regardless, Ikaruga continued doing what she was doing, all the while silent tears streamed down her face.

5th Division Captain - Agito Suzuki Suzuki felt the sensation of Ikaruga's fingers running through her hair and looked at her face wordlessly. Normally this would bother the hell out of Suzuki: people who often did this looked down on Suzuki as if she was a child who they wouldn't, or couldn't take seriously. Maybe even someone to be protected. But with Ikaruga it was slightly different: it was more nostalgic, warm, and also as if Ikaruga was looking past Suzuki at someone else. But Suzuki couldn't exactly pin point what these feelings were, but they weren't bad so she let Ikaruga continue without saying a word.
Then, as tears starts streaming down Ikaruga's face a painful feeling rose in Suzuki's chest as if she was being pierced with a jagged dagger; and this feeling was one Suzuki could pinpoint easily: Sadness. Suzuki may have not known Ikaruga long but that didn't mean she wasn't already somewhat fond of her in some sort of way. And Suzuki IS her superior: in Suzuki's mind that means she is supposed to care and look after her kouhai's.
Suzuki cocked her head in Ikaruga's lap the best as she could when Ikaruga made the "shh" gesture. Suzuki was confused, and in more ways then one: her feelings, Ikaruga's feelings, who hurt her and was it Suzuki? But the reason Suzuki cocked her head is because she didn't understand what she meant by that gesture. Did she want Suzuki to keep quite and not say a word? Or, to not tell anyone about this? Suzuki decided to do both.
Suzuki then just kept looking at Ikaruga's hurt face with her poker face making sure not show her true feelings that would make a pained look as thoughts pass through her head with no answers. Until Suzuki couldn't stand the tear stained face of Ikaruga any longer. Suzuki started wiping away the tears off of Ikaruga's face in a gently and wordlessly. Suzuki knew that what Ikaruga was doing was inappropriate in the professional sense; but she didn't really care about that stuff anyways. And Suzuki also knew that what she was doing now was inappropriate, but so what? Suzuki felt like Ikaruga needed her in this moment. Ikaruga could always resist if she wanted Suzuki to stop after all, and maybe even report her if she really hated it. But Suzuki didn't care, she just wanted Ikaruga to let it out and feel better.

5th Division Captain - Agito Suzuki Suzuki who had fallen asleep by accident and who was pleasantly napping was abruptly woken up by the spiritual pressure of a decently powerful foe who seemed to be making a ruckus. "Eh? Where did Ikaruga go?" the child like captain said while rubbing the sleepy tears out of her eyes while focusing most of her attention where the spiritual pressure was as she said what she thought. "Guess it doesn't matter... Welp! Time to get some warm up exercise." Suzuki said standing up doing some simple stretches, then popping a pocky stick into her mouth before grabbing her Zanpakutō and releasing it. Let's go Kinshin! Suzuki yelled with eagerness as she used Shunpo to race over to her enemy in the flash of an eye by running and jumping from roof to roof; not drowsy in the slightest.
"Hey! Alarm clock, if you're going to come to someone else's home and wreak the place you better be willing to pay the bill! Suzuki says seemingly sitting casually on the roof behind Icillian while munching on her pocky with her spear lugged over her should with a carefree smile and aura as carefree as could be. And before Icillian could turn or attack, Suzuki once again used Shunpo and gets within 30 meters of Ichillian now facing him face to face.
"Mmm, Not a bad looking one are yea? You kinda look familiar though." Suzuki says as her cocky smile disappears and changes into a squinty eyed thinking expression as she nibbles of whats left of her pocky stick then replaces it with one hand; never taking her right hand off of her spear. Suzuki had the feeling that she met him somewhere in the human world once before... But if that was true then he would recognize Suzuki in a heartbeat. The only difference between Suzuki there and here is that she is currently wearing her Shikai's clothes; but even then her small frame, the long red ponytail, the fang toothed smile and the pocky snack she is always eating, it would all be too much of a coincidence.

The Arrancars have only recently showed their face in this universe, but some of the captains (well, only Jack now since the rest were booted for inactivity) will recognize his face since he wrecked part of the human world right under their nose. 5th Division Captain - Agito Suzuki Suzuki's grin grew a little wider at first when Cillian tried to egg on, but that grin disappeared immediately after he called Suzuki a "Little girl." Snap! The sound of the pocky stick being broken in half by Suzuki's bite echoed for a moment. Suzuki's expression clearly told Cillian that he had hit a nerve; one he will regret. "You're definitely an alarm clock..." Suzuki said jumping up into the air before using a combination of Senka to out speed Cillian and bop him on the head with the flat side of her spear head instead of slashing; "You need to learn to SHUDDUP!" Suzuki says after the attack connects or fails.
Suzuki was not pulling any punches, but she certainly wasn't going to go all out either. "Oi, you alive?" Suzuki says fancifully spinning her spear then lugging it over he shoulder in a relaxed posture. Whether Cillian saw it as disrespect or not is one thing, but whether he knows that when Suzuki looks relaxed is actually when she's deadly and on guard is another. Suzuki simple then patiently waits for the dust to clear and or for Cillian to make his move; either way Suzuki is confident she can face anything he can dish out head on. "Hellooo? What happened to your talkative side?" Suzuki says with a grin and taunting tone to egg Cillian on.
