A happy tingling sensation ran through Gamma's body as she snuggled closer and leaned against him. "Thank you for staying with me," he replied just as softly. He let her nuzzle away his tear, shaking his head to her question. No, she hadn't done a thing to upset him. Quite the opposite, actually; she'd swept his worries and fears away with such ease that it was almost magical.
Express himself... the opposite of how he thought he should? That sounded confusing. But the advice that followed made some sense, at least. Her proximity made him feel like a magnet, drawn to her more the closer they were. He nodded slowly when she suggested they sit down and nuzzled her once before he lowed himself to the ground again.
Gamma smiled sadly at Alyssa. "I didn't believe I could love at all," he replied honestly. "Then I saw you." His smile brightened and his pink eyes sparkled with his growing emotions. "I don't think I've ever changed my mind so quickly before."

Alyssa smiled and rested her head against his. He was so big and warm. It wa nice brig snuggled close to him. She smiled as he thanked her. "You're welcome Gamma. And thank you." She continued to nuzzle away the tears until they were gone. She tilted her head when he shook his head. So if she hadn't done anything wrong then why was he crying? You cried for a reason. So what was his reason for crying?
She blushed as she realized how confusing what she had said was. Well she wasn't even sure what she was trying to say to him. It was hard to figure out what she meant for herself so how would he ever be able to figure it out. There was no way he would be able to. She beamed when he nuzzled her back. She liked that a lot. And laid down right next to him. She snuggled against his side and smiled very pleased to be so close.
She froze as he smiled sadly. That didn't seem like a good sign. She got really scared when he said he didn't believe he could love. Did that mean he didn't like her? She let out a sigh of relief at his next words. Oh thank god he had changed his emotions so fast. That made her feel a thousand times better. "Really? You have changed your mind? To what? How have you changed your mind?" She looked into his glittering pink eyes and nuzzled his cheek.

Gamma blinked. "You're welcome, but... what did I do?"
He felt as if he would die of happiness when Alyssa laid down next to him and snuggled into his side. He noted the terror in her eyes when he said that he didn't believe couldn't love and the relief that she showed at the words that followed. He didn't know why, but the innocent questions that she posed made him chuckle. The quiet laughter just bubbled up in his chest and had to be let out. "I changed my mind because I met you," he replied after the short spurt of laughter subsided. "I love you." The last three words tumbled out before he could stop them, his heart to light to be worried about the sudden confession of love that he'd made.

Alyssa chuckled and snuggled closer to him. "You don't know what you have done? Really?" She giggled and relaxed against him.
She rested her head on his neck and closed her eyes. Just enjoying the feel of him warmth next to her and never wanting that feeling to go away. Having his scent surround her was very comforting. She frowned when he chuckled. Was he laughing at her? Had she asked something funny? She didn't think she had asked something funny. Her mouth fell open as she heard what he said. Wow he changed her mind because of her. "What did I do to change your mind?" She blushed and hid her face against his neck. She couldn't believe she had just heard that. He loved her? really?

Gamma shook his head. No, he didn't know what he'd done. But it was nice to hear her giggle and have her relax against him. His heart was practically singing with joy.
He hadn't expected quite the stunned reaction that Alyssa had given, but it was too adorable to peel the smile from his face. He blushed when she hid her face in his neck, lightly touching his nose to her neck in response. His expression softened as he replied, "I'm not sure how to explain... You were just... you." He tried to vocalize at least a few of the things that made his poor little heart leap and prance in his chest. "Even though we just met, you were worried about me. You gave such honest and wonderful compliments, and you were courteous with your questions... Your eyes sparkle like amethysts when you're happy, you're smile's like sunshine..." He blushed a little more as he realized that he was starting to just name things that he liked about her. Which was, well, everything. "You've been so kind and willing to help me. And... you promised to stay with me." He lightly nuzzled her the best he could while her head was buried in his neck. "Everything about you just... makes me happy, happier than I've ever been before in my life." Nothing she did upset him, which was strange for a pessimistic stallion like him. "I've never been so thankful that I met someone than I am that I met you."

Alyssa saw him shake his head and wondered what that was about. How did he not know what she had done to make him change his mind? But she wasn't going to ask about that. She just relaxes against him more getting comfortable.
Alyssa blushed more as he touched his nose to her neck. She hadn't expected that at all. But it felt nice. She peaked at him and saw his expression looked so soft. She giggled as he said that. Oh yeah that explained so much. She was just herself. Seriously? How was that an answer? Well it was still cute having him say that. She sat there and listened to everything he had to say and blushed even more. "Of course I was worried about you. You were on the ground. Last person I found like that had been sick and had passed out. I was scared you had heat stroke or something like that. And I was only saying what I thought. You also didn't seem to want to answer some questions so I didn't want to upset you by asking them. And my eyes are just my eyes same with my smile." She squirmed. She flushed more as he spoke about all of this. She hid her head again. "Course I want to stay with you. I can't believe you want me to stay with you." She smiled as he nuzzled her lightly and kept her face hidden. She blushed even more as he continued to speak. "I make you that happy really?" She couldn't believe that either but was so pleased by it. She snuggled closer to him and kept her face hidden. "me too."

Gamma shook his head, smiling slightly as he replied to her first counter. "The last person who found me like that sat on me," he informed Alyssa. They had become friends afterward, but that didn't change the fact that Kadenza had indeed sat on him when they first met. "I like hearing your thoughts, and not everyone is as courteous about not asking upsetting questions." He felt a little embarrassed as he continued, both not used to giving compliments and not used to being this... well, cuddly with anyone (though Beta had tried). "And they aren't just your eyes and your smile. They're your beautiful eyes and your angelic smile."
He stared at Alyssa, puzzled when she said she couldn't believe that he wanted her to stay with him. "Why wouldn't I want you to stay with me? You're amazing and I love you. Of course I want to stay with you." The quiet 'me too' to the last thing he'd said made him light up like a star. He lightly pressed his nose to her neck again, content to just stay there with the mare who made him happy.

Alyssa felt him shake his head. She tilted her head wondering what the head shake was about. She giggled when she heard that. Someone sat on him? "Did they think you were a plant? Or was that their way of seeing if you were alive or not?" How could someone sit on someone else? That just sounded ridiculous She nodded. "You like to hear what I think? Why is it because most of what I think is good things about you? And I know not everyone is very courteous about asking unpleasant or painful questions." It was easier to say things like this with her face hidden against his neck. She liked being all cuddly with him and snuggling close. She blushed more when he spoke and had no idea how to respond to that. Her eyes her beautiful? And her smile was angelic? Was this guy dropped on his head as a foal? But it was still really sweet to hear that.
She felt him staring at her and peaked to see his puzzled face. She hide her face again. "I can't believe someone as wonderful and sweet as you wants someone as ordinary as me. It's hard to wrap my head around the idea that you love me that's all." She made a happy sound as he pressed his nose lightly against her neck. It felt so nice.

Gamma grinned. "I'm not sure; I was sleeping at the time. I don't think she realized I was there. His grin grew sheepish at her next comments. "That may be true," he admitted, unable to deny such a probable possibility. It was a painful admission, but it was a truthful one.
Gamma shook his head and smiled sadly into her neck at her next words. She painted him in such an optimistic light, and because it was her saying it, he could almost believe it. "I'm not... wonderful or sweet," he replied quietly, his heart's shadows quickly dulling the brightness in his eyes. "I am a coward. I'm pathetic and gloomy... but... it makes me happy to know you think so highly of me, even if I don't deserve it." The last part of her comment made him think. Was there a simple way to explain his love? "You are... the light that can cut through my darkness," he replied finally, a little embarrassed at how... well, cheesy that sounded. "No matter how deep that darkness is." He closed his eyes and lightly pressed his head to her neck. "I can't think of a reason not to love you."

Alyssa smiled and snorted. "Well that is an amazing wake up call. What would you do if I woke you up like that? Or by snuggling up close to you?" She teased him. She smirked and giggled when he admitted that. "I knew it. You like being complimented and such. But I don't mind it. I like telling you how I feel and what I think."
She felt him shake his head and frowned. She heard what he had to say and frowned even more. She took a slow deep breath and moved her head so she could look him in the eyes. So he could see in her eyes and hear in her voice how serious she was. She needed him to know she wasn't just flattering or flirting or anything like that. She was being sincere and very honest. "No Gamma you're not a coward or pathetic. maybe you're a bit more reserved than I am. But you aren't a coward. You took the plunge first a coward would never have done that. And you are so special not pathetic at all. You deserve far more than I have said or thought about you. I love you Gamma and you are the most special and amazing stallion I have ever met."She blushed when he said all that about her and shook her head. "I can't take credit for that. I'm not that special to be able to do something like that." She nuzzled his cheek. "Your heart looks very light and pure to me." She smiled as she felt his head press against her neck. She was glad he couldn't think of any reason.

Gamma couldn't keep the smile from his face. "If you sat on me, I'd like be rather confused when I woke up," he replied. He blushed as he added, "But if you snuggled up close... I'd probably be really happy."
Gamma's shadowed, pink eyes slowly but surely widened as Alyssa spoke those sincere, serious, redeeming words to him. His inner struggle swirled in a flurry of dark past and bright future, each trying to come out on top. Tears formed at the corners of his eyes, but didn't fall. She was so beautiful, so pure and honest... and yet she thought that of him and not herself. This amazing mare didn't realize what an unbelievable feat she'd performed in him... She didn't realize the extent of the darkness and gloom that she'd cut through. He took a deep, shaky breath, nuzzling his face into her neck again. "I'm scared," he said weakly. "I'm scared, but I..." He took another deep breath with a shudder, struggling to find the courage to continue speaking. "Will you... listen to my story?" He had to tell her. Before he allowed himself to accept her words as his new truth, he had to reveal his old truth to her--the ugly, pathetic, cowardly self that had realized his sins to late to change them...

Alyssa giggled as he said that. Confused sounded like an understatement to a reaction to being sat on. She looked at him as he blushed and grinned. He was so cute when he blushed. She beamed when he said that. "You'd be really happy if I snuggled up close to you? Really? Well then maybe I'll wake you up like that if you like."
She watched his pink eyes start to widen as she spoke. It was very true. She meant every word that she had said to him. She watched his eyes as a conflict seemed to fill them. She frowned as the tear formed at the corner of his eyes. She nuzzled him very gently. "I'm sorry if what I said made you upset. I didn't mean to make you cry." Alyssa made soft soothing sounds to him as he nuzzled against her neck. She nuzzled his neck and tried to help make him feel better. "Why are you scared? I'm here I won't let anything hurt you." She held still as he took a slow shuddering breath. She nodded her head. "Yes I will listen to your story." She snuggled closer to get comfortable to hear what he had to say.

Gamma blushed more when she said she'd wake him up by snuggling up close to him, but her smile and giggling made his heart a little lighter nevertheless.
Gamma was glad for her soothing; it helped him calm enough to speak. "I've been traveling for as long as I can remember," he began. "My mother was... I suppose you could call her a survivalist. She, my older brother Alpha, and I never stayed in one place for more than a week for fear that the war would find us. She didn't let us interact with others, and she trained us hard when we were on her own. I think she wanted us to be her bodyguards--insurance, in a way, should the fighting find us. ... Or rather, find her." He took a deep breath, inhaling Alyssa's scent and focusing on it to drive away the dark emotions that came with those unpleasant thoughts. "My mother's top priority was her own survival. Her second was strong children, ones that could keep up with her, shield her from the fighting, and follow her every whim." The stallion had to stop talking for a moment as emotion caused his throat to tighten. "All the others... were abandoned while being promised by our mother that she would return for them. I was... so naive. I didn't realize what was happening until much later. Even when I did understand, I stayed with them. I don't even remember what finally caused me to go. I think it was a small thing, compared to everything else that had happened."
He shuddered, silent for a moment or two. "But even now, the memory of all those siblings that I didn't go back for... they haunt me. I can only hope that they were picked up like my sister Beta was..." But the reality was that they likely died after their abandonment. Beta's survival was a miracle by all accounts. "Even now that I've found my sister, it's hard to communicate with her. She's..." He sighed. "... beyond description. And her adoptive family is kind, but also very large. I'm uncomfortable being with them. Yet, when I think about leaving, I feel like I'm running away again."
Sighing again, he tiredly lifted his head up enough where he could look at Alyssa and see her reaction to his disgusting story. "I didn't want to feel like I was hiding it from you," he explained quietly, pink eyes weary. If he was to shed his cowardly nature, he had to shed it completely; he couldn't run from his past and he didn't want to run from Alyssa.

Alyssa grinned as she saw him blush. She loved to make him blush it pleased her a lot. Yep she would wake him up by snuggling close and maybe with a few peaches for breakfast see if that made him blush. She would find out everything that would make him blush.
She settled closer to him to listen to his story. She wasn't sure what it was about or what had happened but she wanted to listen to it and see if she could help him out with it. She frowned slightly as she listened to it. How could a mother do that to her children? What would cause someone to do all of those things. She didn't really know much about the war or what had happened. She frowned more. He wasn't allowed to interact with others much? Really? That sounded so mean and unfair. She felt so bad and just wanted to snuggle him until all the bad memories went away. So she could make all his bad experience never have happened. She wanted to know why his mother had been afraid of those in the war. Had his mother done something to need to run and hide? To use her family as pawns? It made her so mad she wanted to go find his mother and give the lady a piece of her mind. And maybe even kick her a** for treating Gamma like that. She nuzzled close to him as he took a deep breath and she hoped he was ok. She didn't want to make him upset or hurt because he was telling her this. She nuzzled his cheek when he had to stop again. Her eyes widened in shock as he said that. Why would someone abandon their children? That was horrible. She stared at Gamma he had had to grow up with that? How had he turned out so well. She didn't blame him for not understanding or staying with them. They were his family and he had been a child when it started how would he know anything else? He had had the courage to leave. That had to have taken a lot of guts to manage that. She didn't know if she could have done that.
She pressed closer to him when she felt him shudder. She wanted to help him get better. She wanted him to feel better. She wanted to make all the hurt go away. She looked into his eyes. She heard what he said and wasn't sure what to say. She heard him sigh and looked into his weary pink eyes. She nuzzled his cheek and made soft soothing sounds.
"Why do you have issues with your sister and her family?" It was the first thing she could think of to ask. She took a few moments to think about what to say. "Gamma you're not a coward. None of that makes you pathetic and none of that makes you a coward. I don't know who your mother was and excuse me for being rude but I don't know what her problem was. That's not ok to use your children for selfish gains. None of what happened was your fault. Your mother did all that. And you were a child you trusted your mother how were you supposed to know that she was leaving your siblings to never come back for them. I'm glad you don't want to hide things from me. And I love you." She snuggled close and rested her head against his neck. "I want to make all your pain go away. I'm so sorry all of this happened to you. I wish I could go back in time and erase all the bad things that had happened to you to hurt you. I'm so sorry your mother did all of that to you and your siblings."

"My sister is... hard to deal with. She's very loud and doesn't seem to have any concept of personal space. And although she seems happy, sometimes a... gloom hangs over her like it does me. She tries to cheer me up but usually it backfires. We're just... very different. Her family is kind, but staying with them makes me feel claustrophobic. I'm used to being only around two Azrein, so being around others is strange... and there's so many Azrein living with her that it's suffocating. And loud. There's also humans, one of whom recently gave birth two twins... and human babies are even louder than Azrein ones." Although he didn't like that he had issues with his sister and her adoptive family, it was a little, well, nice to talk about it--to feel comfortable talking about it.
The rest of her words seemed to wash over him like a river, picking up pieces of his burdens and carrying them away. "I love you too," he replied softly. He smiled at her, love and gratitude shining in his pink eyes, now free of the gloomy darkness that had swirled their before. "Consider it erased," he replied to her spoken desires. Alyssa had all but done that. The past was there, but it didn't weigh so heavily on him now.
