 Haku Tetsuya Haku murmured something incoherent as he woke, sitting up slowly and rubbing his eyes, looking over just in time to see Kano leave the room to go and eat. Groggily he got to his feet and wandered into the sitting room, taking his seat across from Kano with a small yawn. "Thank you for the food" He murmured, taking only as much as he knew he would eat- which still wasn't a huge amount. When he finished and Kano was done he gathered up the dishes and did the cleaning himself, figuring that if Kano had cooked, he should clean up. Once he was done that he wandered back to the room where the Futons were and collapsed on his. "M'sleepy" He sighed, lifting a hand to push his bright red locks back off his face, rolling on to his back and grabbing his pillows which he cuddled in his arms again. He'd always been a cuddly person- preferring to sleep in a room with someone else. As a child he had always sneaked into his oldest brothers room and slept in there. A wide yawn parted his lips again as he pushed himself up, figuring he should at least try to stay awake as long as Kano. "You gunna sleep soon?" He questioned, probably sounding kind of hopeful.

While Haku cleaned the dishes, Kano took that time to go to the small bath house attached to the safe house to bathe himself. Once he was back he let his long black hair air dry after combing through it with his fingers. He had on a robe that he slept in and looked down at Haku in time to hear his question. With a slight nod he replied, "Yes, I'll rest for a bit." He then walked over to his futon and laid there, shutting his eyes as he appeared to already be asleep. Kano let his body rest though he remained completely alert as he would allow himself to sleep for at least ten minutes or so and probably spend the rest of the night laying there keeping watch over the house and Haku.
No one really knew that Kano slept very little and that he never really let himself rest as much. That was probably one difference between him and Haku. Haku most likely had people keep guard during the night so he could sleep well while Kano had no one but it was how he wanted it and what he was used to.
He opened his eyes after ten minutes and glanced over at Haku to see if the male was sleeping or not.

Haku Tetsuya Haku sat there, watching as Kano laid down on his own futon and just...closed his eyes. And the first thing the red head thought was that he looked incredibly uncomfortable. He didn't even realize he was staring until Kano cracked open his eyes again and looked over at Haku, thought he didn't look away- a brow raising inquisitively. "You- look like the most uncomfortable, stiff, sleeper I have ever seen." He stated in a very matter of fact tone of voice, sitting with his legs crossed as he pursed his lips. "Come here." He commanded, scooting over on his futon as he looked on at the black haired male. "And don't argue...when is the last time you slept for an entire night? Because that Ten minute power nap of yours looked absolutely horrible."

Kano had been expecting Haku to be asleep by now since the male had seemed so sleepy earlier. He blinked and looked at him while laying there perfectly still. With a soft sigh he turned his head so that he was looking up at the ceiling again. "Don't bother with such trivial things and go to sleep. I'm fine. What looks uncomfortable to you is actually comfortable to others. I slept what I needed and I will rest here the rest of the night." When it came to the way Kano did things....well he was a little stubborn and didn't like to stray away from how he did things. In other words he was a routine kind of guy and the only time he really ever did anything spontaneous was whenever he was on missions. Such as today at the Inn when he had pinned Haku down and kissed him. But whenever at home or in a safe place he stuck to what he usually and always did.
"We have a long day tomorrow to get as much sleep and rest as you can." With that as his final comment he shut his eyes again and continued to lay there as he had been doing so the whole ten minutes. Though he looked rigid and stiff his body was actually relaxed, his muscles not so tense and as relaxed as he could possibly get his muscles to get.
With the over all responsibilities and duties, Kano rarely ever had time to relax and so he grew accustomed to being tense all the time and so he never noticed how tense he really is unless someone points it out.

Haku Tetsuya Haku was pretty sure he pulled a very displeased face- his eyes narrowing slightly. 'trivial things? A good nights rest was important!' Without a word he got to his feet and walked over to Kano's futon, sitting down abruptly next to the other male with a sigh. "You- are stubborn as a mule it would seem- but hey, so am I~" He stated before he reached out and pressed gently against a space between a muscle and a nerve on the males shoulder- before he applied more pressure and released, feeling the tension slip away even if Kano had thought that he was relaxed before. He repeated that on the other shoulder before he laid down and stretched his arms up above his head- a yawn parting his lips once more. He was partially on the floor but he didn't say anything- "I'm giving you a proper massage sometime- Heaven knows you need it." He stated sleepily, before he turned on his side and curled up- though he remained next to Kano, half on the floor or not. Honestly he could sleep just about anywhere- though he was actually pretty alert- though only when he felt threatened. "Told ya not to argue" He muttered softly, not quite asleep yet but not entirely focused on the space around him either.

Sensing Haku getting up and going over to him he didn't move and remained with his eyes shut. Even when Haku had massaged his shoulders he remained unfazed but listened to what the male said. Once Haku was laying again and probably finally going to sleep, Kano opened his eyes and let his head fall to the side so he could look at the male. It was a rather chilly night as he sighed softly, moving to make more room on his futon. Without a word he reached out and with his strong arms he managed to lift Haku gently and slightly of the group to pull him onto the futon and into his arms where he pulled the blanket over the both of them.
No words were exchanged as Kano simply laid there, shutting his eyes and letting Haku use him as his cuddling pillow if he so wanted to. Kano allowed his body to relax a bit more and dozed off for about an hour more so that was an hour more than he usually slept. But the rest of the night he remained still and rested his body while letting Haku sleep with him.

Haku Tetsuya Haku murmured something softly as Kano pulled him over into his arms- sighing gently as he finally dozed off- enjoying the warmth the other provided. At some point he rolled over in his sleep and slipped one arm around Kano's waist- nuzzling against the other males chest as he slept contently, his long red locks a mess around him. Of course peaceful dreams seemed to twist at some point of the night and suddenly Haku seemed very uncomfortable in his sleep- though he didn't make a sound. A frown tugged at his lips and his brows furrowed as he flinched in his sleep- before Forest green eyes darted open and he let out a gasp of air- sitting up quickly as he took his surroundings in, in a sleep filled and somewhat frantic daze. "Ah..." He muttered softly, shaking his head with a soft chuckle filled with something like self loathing. He turned his attention to Kano and forced a smile onto his lips "Sorry bout that" he breathed as he eased himself back down, laying with his back to Kano now and he closed his eyes once more- willing himself to sleep as he was still tired...but now he had that nightmare in his mind...fresh. It was a memory actually- of the time when he received the long scar on his back- something that wasn't entirely pleasant to think of...especially as it had happened as a child of eight years. A pretty terrifying experience to say the least....but he was alive- it just came up now and then... something his mind liked to have him relive.

Kano had been in and out of thought as he had a lot of worries in his mind, especially knowing that the rumor was more than a rumor now. There was so much to prepare for if this attack was really going to happen and there was also the fact that the wedding would probably be postponed until things are settled. His grandfather would probably not agree and tell Kano that they aught to get married quickly and soon but that was for another day. For now he had to focus on this mission and getting everything he needed in order to go back with Haku.
With Haku in mind he opened his eyes and glanced over at the male who had not hesitated to cuddle against him however he took note of the sudden discomfort the male had started to fall into. He simply watched and saw Haku sit up from, waking from whatever nightmare he was having.
Taking a wild guess, Kano turned to his side to face Haku, the male facing his back toward him. He reached out as he slipped his hand under the males shirt and trailed his warm fingers up the males back as he began to gently let his fingers trail up the males scar.
"Did the nightmare happen to be about this?" Yes, Kano knew about the scar since he had seen it when he came to the village and Kano had been the first to change. he then saw a glimpse of it when he had opened his Kimono and pulled him into his arms where he it by his shoulder and he also felt it with his hands.
Kano's body was decorated with scars but most from missions he had gone on. Only some had a true significant story, but this wasn't about him. Whatever caused the scar on Haku was clearly haunting him still.

Haku Tetsuya Haku sucked in a breath of air as Kano's hand slid under his shirt and traced the scar gently, his heart skipping a beat as he forced himself to relax. He bit the inside of his cheek- finding the scar tissue to be extremely sensitive and...well it felt odd to have someone trace it- as the nerve endings there were damaged- which simply made him hyper aware of Kano's hand. "Y-yeah... It's nothing though. Old wounds y'know?" He muttered, somehow managing to keep his voice steady despite the fact that he wasn't used to someone actually touching his scars. "Childhood trauma. Sticks with a person- I'm okay, just sometimes I have dreams about it. Once I wake up it's fine- I know I'm okay." He continued gently, his heart still beating rather frantically in his chest. His fingers were warm against his back- and since Haku's usual temperature was pretty cool it felt like a very odd sensation- especially when he went past certain nerve endings that were extremely sensitive even now. At least the scar hadn't crippled him- his father had even doubted that he would be able to fight.... But it hadn't done enough damage to permanently disable him in any way. "It's uh... K-kinda sensitive though" He muttered- feeling a bit embarrassed to say the least- but Kano did have his hand up his shirt and it was...well- he had butterflies in his stomach. It also made him hyper aware of the fact that they would be spending their lives together now...they were to marry after all- and he had a feeling the ceremony wouldn't be far from now.

Kano kept his hand pressed gently against the males back even after he had stated that the scar was sensitive. At last he pulled his hand out of the males shirt and laid on his back again. Kano had his caring sweet moment but he also had his emotionless and dull moments as well. "I understand, I suppose so long as those memories don't interfere when you're on a mission and have to stay focused then it isn't much of a big problem. However it's best you try to defeat your inner demons." With that he spent the rest of the night laying there quietly until at long last the sun came up.
Letting Haku sleep however long he wanted, Kano had gotten dressed and stepped out for a while, checking around the house to make sure they were still undetected by anyone. By the time he came back in Haku was most likely making breakfast. Kano had to plan today which for now would only be them going to the tea shop again to sit and listen to any more information then head off to the market place to buy more food for the safe house. Kano would then wait for the the night in order to slip into the Lords house and of course Haku would be coming along. For now they would eat breakfast and leave the house continuing to pose as husband and wife.

Haku Tetsuya Haku let out a soft breath of relief as Kano withdrew his hand, though he pursed his lips at the males response...and in return he lifted one hand and tapped Kano on the forehead with his knuckles lightly 'Jerk' he scolded silently, before he dropped his hand again and curled up tighter, closing his forest green orbs and slipping into a dreamless sleep. 'It's not a demon- its a memory' was the last thing he thought of before he was out cold. The next morning Haku awoke a few minutes after Kano left the room. He slipped out of bed and set to making them both breakfast- sticking with miso soup again and eggs. Once the two of them had eaten he cleaned up once again and wandered off to go and change- slipping into the Kimono again. This time he pulled his long crimson hair up into a braided bun. After fastening it in place he followed Kano to the tea house again and simply got himself some water- not even wanting tea at this point... After quite a while of nothing but idle chatter within the tea house Haku sighed "Shall we go and shop? We need things for dinner tonight" He stated gently, ignoring the stares of those in the teashop. He understood that he stood out- but it was extremely annoying... one of the things that made him hate his fiery locks. Though it was also due to his pretty face.

Kano was concentrating on the conversations in the shop but there was nothing of importance and looking over at Haku he smiled warmly and nodded as his arm wrapped around his waist, pulling him close to him. "Of course, whatever you wish to do today my love." He then stood and walked out with his "wife" hold his hand while they walked along the streets as they finally reached the market area where they had several kinds of items for sell along with food. Kano looked at Haku and smiled softly, "Go and see if you want anything, I'll go get the food we need."
Kano then let go of Haku's hand and walked over to buy a bunch of vegetables and spices. His clan didn't eat meat since it would create the body to release odors after consuming meat and to be a shinobi it was best to remain as clean as possible so that other shinobi or enemy could not smell them.
He allowed Haku to get whatever it was he wanted and so he spotted the male lingering around where all the hot foods and treats were. He made his way slowly over to him, looking at some items as well to see if he could buy anything useful.
Meanwhile a couple of men were walking by as they spotted Haku and approached "her".
"Why aren't you the sexiest thing here." One said while the others nodded in agreement. They continued to 'compliment' Haku and even begin to ask and rather demand that he should go with them to have a little "fun".
Kano lingered near by but waited, wanting to see how Haku would respond though he expected Haku to keep his guise up but he wouldn't mind having a sassy bold "wife"...well technically he was pretty much waiting for Haku to be....Haku.

Haku Tetsuya Haku felt his face warm up a bit as Kano pulled him close, his arm warm around his waist. It wasn't much better when he switched to holding his hand but he managed to make it seem natural- just a slightly shy wife is all... He nodded as he headed off towards a stall with spicier good- deciding to get a few different spices for his own meals- as well as a chili oil. The spices were good for keeping one from getting sick and...well, he simply loved them. His attention soon turned to a few men that gathered around him, earning a slightly blank stare from him which quickly turned into a look of boredom. "Are you done?" He voiced simply- tilting his head slightly in a bit of a condescending manner. "The only thing amusing about you is the fact that you think you even have a slight chance with me" He added - smiling sweetly all the while. Still he acted as a 'woman'- which probably pissed the men off further as one pulled his arm back to strike Haku- whom simply sighed in annoyance 'really, so slow' he mused silently, shifting out of the mans reach with ease so that he stumbled forwards instead. "My dear Husband, it's rude to simply watch whilst I'm being harassed" He called out, looking over his shoulder at Kano with a sly smile.

Kano was right. He knew that it would be amusing to watch Haku brush off these men and Haku did not disappoint. What was more amusing was Haku easily avoiding the strike from the man as a grin grew on his face while he stood there with his arms crossed, enjoying the show. Of course Haku called him out as he chuckled lightly and walked over to him, yet again pulling Haku close to him as he held Haku's chin and tilted his head up so he could look down at him with a loving smile.
"Ah yes, rube but you know how much I enjoy watching you brush off other men who think they can whisk away my wife." With another light chuckle he paid for what Haku picked out and then held his hand again to leave.
The men however didn't want to be left looking like a bunch of idiots but with a rather cold glare from Kano they knew it was best to back down. However they thought they could follow Kano and Haku and be unnoticed but for the hell of it, Kano allowed them to think they were being clever and sneaky.
"Hold the food," Kano said as he gave Haku the bags of food before jumping out of sight once they rounded the corner. The men had sped up and as they spotted Haku standing there, Kano jumped down behind them and swiftly took them out. After knocking them out he pulled them onto a pile and then continued home with Haku.
"If it happens again I'll let you deal with it next time," Kano said with another chuckle as he was talking about beating people up if they were being followed just like now.
Back at the safe house he let Haku put the food away while Kano cleaned a bit however a knock on the door made him cautious as he walked slowly to the door. He had a small knife he could use just in case. Swinging the door open he saw that it was a rather young couple, the woman obviously pregnant. He didn't know who they were and so he asked, "Can I help you?"
"We're sorry to bother you and your wife but we saw what happened and we really wanted to meet you two. We asked around and a neighbor of yours told us that you live here."
"I see, well come in," Kano said however he had his guard up as he shut the door and allowed them to sit. He called Haku in, telling him that they had guests and to bring some tea.
He knelt down and sat there in front of them as Haku served the tea.
The man finally spoke, "You see a lot of couples such as yourself and even us...well we tend to get harassed by those particular group of men and seeing you guys stand up to them was pretty awesome. My wife really wanted to meet you guys, especially your wife with how she handled herself."
Once Haku sat down beside Kano, Kano pulled him in close again and smiled, "Ah yes, she's quite a woman right? She's feisty."
"Are you two newlyweds?"
"Yes we are," Kano replied with a nod as the two looked at one another then back at Kano and Haku.
"Ah I see, you two seem rather close but certainly not as passionate as newlyweds, but I guess all couples are different."
Kano looked at Haku then over at the couple, "I see what you mean.My wife is rather shy and so if I show too much affection in public she may faint." He chuckled and looked at Haku, clearly teasing him.

Haku Tetsuya Haku Had to force himself to not act startled when Kano pulled him against him again, tilting his head up as the other smiled so sweetly at him, warmth flooding to his cheeks even though he knew it was a ruse. "Mm, Of course." He murmured, slightly relieved when Kano let him go and paid for the items he had planned on buying. He allowed Kano to take his hand as they left the market square, though he was fully aware of the gang of idiots that followed along. He took the bags when Kano gave them to him, turning around to look at the men with an innocent smile- which of course confused them as Haku's 'husband' had basically disappeared...that is until he took the men out. "Okay- should be fun." He agreed, though he didn't pass the groceries back to Kano- he could carry them just fine after all! When they reached the safe house he let himself relax and simply hummed under his breath as he put the groceries away- jumping slightly when he heard the door. Haku slipped into the room, not exactly happy to be told to go grab the tea but he kept his mouth shut and went to do it anyways- he was supposed to be the 'wife' after all. After serving the tea he had gone to simply sit down but of course Kano felt it was necessary to pull him close, once again earning a bit of warmth to Haku's cheeks. "Oh hush..." He murmured, actually a bit embarrassed by what was going on. how on earth was he supposed to act in front of these people!? After taking a second to compose himself he looked at the woman and smiled sweetly "How far along are you? If you don't mine me asking" He voiced, knowing that it was natural for a woman to ask these things- they always seemed curious about those things. Not that...well Haku actually cared all that much.
