Here, for your reading pleasure:
An RP example from a few months ago.

"A traveler from town to town comes trudging along the road. A masculine frame was this traveler, accented by the garb he wore and the relatively short, unkempt, apple-red hair upon his head. What the man wore, was it a green-hued silken shirt? Was this accompanied by a dark, almost red pair of slacks? These clothes were hard to see, as they were nearly completely hidden from view by a trenchcoat hanging heavily from the figure's shoulders to his ankles. This coat, seemingly commonplace these days, was a deep brown-red color. This was an odd color, but not an unnatural one. Tough dark-hide leather boots grounded this man securely to the dirt beneath him. In the dim moonlight, his skin looked almost black. This man was exotic no doubt, an irregular skin pigment from the normally ice-white tones of most of the women in this era.

This wanderer's eyes were hidden from other gazes by his eyelids, he came to a stop outside a tavern, hands in pockets. Inspecting the exterior, admiring the structure, architecture, and material of that building, the man stood with fiery-orange irises almost glowing in the dim light of the moon. A strong, gloved hand would reach for the front door of the tavern, twisting the handle, and unhinging the latch that kept the large door of the tavern closed to the wind and weather of the outside. Stepping inside, his boots made their presence known against the hard wooden floor of the pub. He closed the door with a thud, and as he walked to the bar, he scanned the interior of its inhabitants. None looked familiar tonight. Caleb shrugged and sat down at a stool at the bar.

Placing a few coins on the bar that he pulled out of the inside of his coat, he ordered a double-shot of whiskey. The coins hit the bar and cried out with the sound of wind chimes. Caleb could immediately feel the eyes of rogues and thieves burning at him. He disregarded it though, if they really wanted his money, they wouldn’t see tomorrow. The man with the apple red hair received his glass filled with his poison. While downing it, the eyes of a pretty young girl caught his. Almost as if it was expected of him, Caleb ordered the girl a drink, and they got to talking.

One thing led to another, and eventually the girl dragged the now intoxicated Caleb outside and to the back of the pub, where they “wouldn’t be disturbed”. Caleb looked into the girl’s eyes, and then realized his mouth was touching hers. He closed his eyes and allowed her tongue into his mouth. It tasted almost sweet, like she had eaten something sugary recently. He then pushed his tongue into the depths of her mouth. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain on his tongue, as if someone drove a nail through it. He had cut himself… On her teeth!? He pulled back from the girl’s face, and looked at her in a drunken surprise. His own blood was dripping down her chin, and she gave him an almost animalistic stare. It was a stare of wanting, a stare of longing. She lunged forward and knocked Caleb off his feet. Caleb was now thoroughly sure this wasn’t right, and struggled against abnormal strength against the young vampire.

He was pinned, and he could feel her cold breath on his neck. Caleb began panicking. He strained to remember his enchantment that he hardly ever used… “The pillar of the sun!” he screamed in his mind. No, that isn’t it… He felt a drop of his own blood fall from the girl’s chin onto his flesh. "Oh s**t… Tower of Light!" He screamed in his mind as he concentrated on the blue sphere of energy that should shoot forth from his body. Immediately, the weight upon his body was lifted, and the vampire was thrown onto the dirt a few feet away. Instinctively, Caleb began to think of the happiest times of his life, and put them into a silver sphere of energy that grew from his palm. The girl was climbing to her feet, glaring at him in a ruthless stare, bearing her fangs, when Caleb put that ball of silver into the apex of the egg-shaped sphere of blue protection that surrounded him. He concentrated on it as much as he could. The sphere began raining silver sparks all over Caleb’s body, and he could feel himself gaining a warm glow. He re-opened his eyes and glared at the girl who was poised to jump at him. She hissed when he looked into her eyes. He glared at her with an arrogant attitude in his movements.

Soon, the blue shield dissipated, and the vampire jumped to strike. With speed that rivaled her own power, Caleb shot forth and knocked her back to the ground with a swift palm to the chest. Not wanting to face that kind of surprising strength any longer, the girl turned tail and fled. Sighing, Caleb fell back against the wall of the tavern, and slid to the ground. It was there the man passed out until daybreak, when he realized what that night had done to him."
