Daemon watched in silence as Cedrick and Lily were arguing with each other. It was truly an intriguing thing, the spirit. Emotions could run freely unchecked and what people once tried to bury and escape could easily rise back up to the surface to haunt them once more.
You can't assume the worst from everyone...True experience is a powerful tool, but it can't guide you through everything. It can blind you and in your blindness you may find that you yourself are not the one that you claim to be...I would expect from someone who has lost all those close to them to be more understanding of those around them. You may not like them because of what they are, and it's understandable, but that doesn't mean you know their history or who they truly are...Everything happens...for a reason...
Daemon paused briefly before uttering the last part of his sentence, thinking back to his own past. There was a resurgence of memories that flooded his consciousness; an image of a young girl, a small smile set on her face, people who greeted him with a smile and bowed their heads in respect, the young girl once again staring blankly at him, lying in a pool of blood. He shunned those memories as the darkness seemed to lighten briefly before growing dark. Had the events happened for a reason? Was this truly the life he was meant to live?
Lily glanced at Daemon when he interjected into their conversation "I know exactly what i am and what i will become" she said sounding confident "Every night i get reminded that exact path with a nightmare" she told him "it doesn't matter if it happens for a reason..i believe that there is always a choice in a matter, my mother taught me that and i stand by that regardless of many times it may be proven wrong to some people i wont let that ideal be drifted away"

Cedrick heard both of there side of the conversation. "I agree with Daemon. Don't expect the worst of people just because you one thing happened to you. Though I don't agree with the everything happens for a reason." He said putting his view into the conversation again.

Daemon stood up as he walked over to the tree that pulsed lightly. He put a hand on it as he looked at the brightest glow from it and let out a sigh, rare since he hardly ever showed any sign of his feeling. For a brief moment it seemed that he showed regret.
People change Lily...I'm sure like any human child we see the truth about what we believe, ideals that can't be attained because we grow old and realize that we can't be what we want to be. Sure they might be able to get where they want to be, but you can't immediately believe that people have a choice in everything...Oh pardon me...you must be hungry... where are my manners?
Daemon turned as he raised a hand and made a swiping motion, the darkness moving like a cloth covering furniture to reveal a small counter laden with fruits and vegetables, as he walked over to cut some of them up.
Lily looked at them "then when i see them prove me wrong they themselves will prove me wrong but everyone else does not get the same trust as those who can prove it" she told them "theres always a choice you can either do something..or not do something...even if your being threatened you can resist and take the consequences...it doesn't matter how much you explain that there are some without a choice but to me there's even a small choice then" she said before he offered food "i..guess..." she muttered

Cedrick shrugged seeing as how he couldn't convince Lily to consider his view he went to the table and table an apple. "Thanks" He said to his host. "Before we decide to move from this stand still topic I would just like to add something. My mother is a witch, she has always been a witch. My father found out a bit after their marriage. Needless to say this caused some issues. They worked it out before I was born. To this day, even after my father was killed, she has remained a good person." Cedrick said pausing for a second before turning to Daemon. "Anyway, how does a polite and respectful man like you end up in the attack on Death City?" He asked with curiosity in his mind.
Daemon's hand cut the fruit while they spoke. When Cedrick brought up the incident in Death City, the failed attack in his eyes, he paused for the briefest moment as anger welled up in his mind and then receeded. He continued to cut fruit as he placed the slices on a small plate before walking over to Lily and Cedrick, raising a table from the darkness and setting the plate down.
I was visiting the City prior to its attack, needless to say I wasn't a part of either side...The only reason I was fighting in the city was to save those who shared a less fortunate fate, and had no choice but to fight. Whoever planned that assault was a fool...
Daemon picked up a glass of water and took a sip, the liquid passing through the mask that covered his face.
Lily sighed when Cedrick mentioned his family had a witch, but then just returned to listening as a table rose from the ground "but..you did not save them..you gave them a fighting chance to complete what they were sent to do...if you were going to save them then you could have stopped both sides from fighting, we did not want to fight either...we were fighting for our home..they were fighting because they might have been forced..both sides should have been stopped..not helped" she explained calmly, "at least that's how i see things" she finished as she simply looked at the fruit he cut in a bit of suspicion, she had yet to take food from other people so it was just her curiosity to be inspective

"Eh..." Cedrick said before eating some fruit. "Amidst the chaos of all that is going on it would hard to tell one side from another." He thought back to the fight. "Everyone was fighting, rushing around to help civilians and such like that." He said and looked to Lily. " And would you stop fighting if a man like this told you to. I think you would continue." He sat back down his chair. "Do you have any meat?" He asked Daemon.

Daemon simply laughed, albeit dryly and obvious that there was no humor in the laugh as he heard Lily's comment. He pondered about demons of all kinds, the kind and caring and those who were evil and malicious.
There are few that have a noble spirit, particularly ones that aren't flexible Lily Treinna, but I make it my job to protect those who otherwise did not have much of a choice...There is a difference between demons with good intent and ones with evil intentions, and I simply found out which ones are which, and help or eliminate them accordingly. Your view is understandable but it is narrow...Sometimes you cannot stop the future from coming down in stone and flames.
Daemon noted her rather suspicious gaze at the fruits he had set out for them. He simply picked one up and moved his face mask down, revealing stern narrow lips as he put the slice of apple in his mouth, trying to put her suspicions to ease. Daemon looked at Cedrick as he inquired for meat.
Thresh usually goes 'hunting' for some protein; he usually uses them as...ways to inflict the most pain on living beings, and though he might seem a bit on the...bloodthirsty side I can assure you he has a decent heart under all that...'stuff'... I'm sure he will have something that is edible.
There was a voice that rang out from the darkness, no one to be seen but clear that the voice belonged to Thresh.
I heard that! It's called research and its perfectly normal! Why is it so wrong if little old me cuts open a human when humans cut each other open to examine their insides?
Behave yourself Thresh...We have guests...Why don't you be a good kishin and prepare something for these kind people...I must admit that Thresh's cooking is quite excellent...
Daemon said that last bit quietly to Lily and Cedrick as he waved his hand as a section of the darkness moved away like curtains to reveal Thresh who was busy cutting open a pig in a room that looked like a meat locker, and looking rather ridiculous in a blood stained white labcoat and goggles, both of which were unnecessary. Thresh looked up as he shouted from where he was his voice laced with sarcasm and annoyance from being disrupted.
What tickles your fancy? We have almost every meat known to human kind, including mystery meat.
Lily looked around "im just saying you seemed to help the fight go on rather then help...thats all im saying" she told him before Tresh returned "i dont really mind..anything i guess..." she said rubbing her head ruffling her hair a bit, she still was not comfortable in the demon worlds, not even her mothers home village she was not comfortable. she sat there silently just listening around

"I'll take really any meat aside from ham." Cedrick said to Thresh. He then turned his attention back to his host. "You seem to have a rather noble soul." he said. "Where did your story go that lead you here?" He asked.
Thresh shouted over his shoulder to Lily in response to her indecisive answer. Of course his answer was filled with sarcasm and not literal. He cut open what appeared to be a bull as he started to filet the meat.
How does fox meat sound? And it's not a good idea to remind Daemon of what he did to become a Kishin. Hell I don't even like hearing that story...
As Thresh started to cut up the meat and cleaning it for edible purposes he turned to a pantry filled with various seasonings as such, preparing what looked like steak. Daemon looked at Cedrick when he asked his question. He looked at the tree for a moment before looking back at his guests and speaking.
It is a long story...but for the sake of not talking your ears out I'll make it quick...Long ago I was once a Meister at the DWMA...On one of my assignments I was tasked with finding a source of power to great that it could not fall into Kishin hands...In case you haven't figured it out it's the Demon Masks that currently are in my possession. Once I had retrieved them I started to get thoughts of murder and an insatiable thirst for Human souls...I have no memories of when I went out on my murder sprees, and Death nor any of the Meisters were aware that it was me...It puzzled them greatly...Who could have done such a terrible thing in the City...It was months before I had almost completely become a Kishin that I committed an unforgivable sin...
Daemon paused at the memory; a young girl, small and seemingly frail dressed in white. A flashback to months ahead and the same girl lay in a pool of her own blood, her white dress stained, a long lost look in her eyes as she uttered her final words through telekinesis, the mode of communication that they had shared since the little girl was mute. Daemon left out bits and pieces of his story, about how he had become a Kishin, but they were of no real importance.
I turned on my Weapon...my partner...and killed her...And in that instant I had become a monster...A kishin...So I fled the city, from everything that reminded me of my partner whom I cared for like a daughter...And yet I am still haunted by her, but this curse is not entirely bad...I still see glimpses of her, like her consciousness is part of mine, to stop me from doing anything I would have regretted before I became a Kishin...
There was the sound of meat sizzling as Thresh threw the hunks of meat onto a grill and started to hum a spritely tune to himself as Daemon sat with his chin resting on his laced fingers, his elbows to his thighs as he let out a sigh, recalling the painful past from which he had come from. He just repeated the young girls name over and over again in his head. Nu...
Lily sighed "haha..very funny...if its that meat then ill pass...there are creatures i just cant eat..it lowers my self worth" she said "things like cows or birds im fine with" she said "and before anyone makes a remark..dont judge what i said" she added before daemon began his story, she just listened to it

"That's sad." Cedrick commented at the end of Daemon's story. "I can't imagine the pain of that happening must be agonizing. I won't ask you to bring up anymore painful memories." He said and then heard Lily's retort to Thresh's joke. "Judge what?" He asked missing what anyone would remark on.
