Alces had unsuspectingly stumbled upon this gathering of girls and paused when he saw all of them. He looked behind him, as if wishing Equus, Aesculus, or Cervus would suddenly appear. Seeing nothing, and not wishing to be rude he smiled at them all and gave a small wave. Staying where he was, he greeted them, "Hello Lady Filix, Miss Muris, Lady...." He paused when he noticed Eirnae. Having not met her yet, he wasn't quite sure of her name, or that the toddler with her was Pappila.

"Eirnae will do just fine, good sir," the moon elf replies warmly as she looks up from the volume in her hands, Pappila echoing her Kithain's actions by also twisting around to better see the posessor of this new voice. She scoots further into Eirnae's lap when she spots Alces, someone she doesn't remember, but she offers a shy wave, the combined presences of Filix, Muris, and her Kithain boosting her courage. "Hello," the little girl offers as a short verbal greeting, her speech improving with time. "And this is Pappila," Eirnae continues, smiling down at her Fey's use of vocals.
Eirnae smiles and nods to both Filix and Muris, "Good morning, dear ladies. I had not expected to see anyone this morning, much less such pleasant faces as yours." Pappila adds her own coo of happiness at seeing two Fey that she feels she knows, waving both hands at Filix and Muris fondly.

The little mouse gently brushed Fera's neck with her fingers, whispering softly to the horse words that the others couldn't hear, and took a deep breath as she looked from Filix to Eirnae and Pappila. But before she could open her mouth to say another word, Alces showed up,
"Alces!" Muris grinned delightedly and rushed over to hug the older boy. She'd been feeling just a little uncomfortable around Filix after what happened with Rosa the day before, but Alces always set her at ease,
"'n yeah, I know Pappila and..um..Miss Eirnae," this was directed at Filix, "Pappila and I read together." She seemed very proud of this pronouncement, indeed.
Then her eyes grew wide as Pappila spoke, "Oooh Pappila you -talked-!" she giggled delightedly, all of the excitement making her very giddy indeed, "Are you talkin' lots now?"

"Alces!" Filix chimed happily at spotting him as well, and wandered over to give him the usual hug she always had for the younger teen. She grinned warmly down at Muris, in a much better mood now that her sister wasn't around and faulting the newfound older body.
Filix took a seat on the grass next to Pappila and Eirnae, stretching out her legs on the cool grass and breathing out happily. She glanced up at Pappila, just as Pappila spoke, and smiled her own delight at the younger one. She leaned up to take one of Pappila's hands gently, shaking it for a few seconds before letting go again. "It's good to see you again, Pappila. You look happy today!"

"Very well, Eirnae." He gave a polite nod of his head, and it almost sounded as though he had paused before calling her by just her first name instead of adding any sort of title before it. He smiled at Pappila when she said hello to him and he waved back at her again, "Hello. You must be Pappila then." his smile grew just a bit, looking more friendly then it had before.
"Muri." he said again when he saw her coming at him. He knelt down so he could give her a hug back and be at eye level with her for the most part. "You seem happy to see me." he laughed and then reached and arm up when Filix came to give him a hug so he could hug her as best as he could from down on the ground.

Pappila shakes her head ernestly, not wanting to mislead Muris to think that she's mastered the art of speaking just yet. "Learning," she offers as an explaination, one hand going to her throat to pat it softly, "Too many...hard." Her brows furrow as she tries to think of how she can explain it. She knows what she wants to say, and how to say it, but when she tries to put all of the words together they get jumbled, like the time she tried to write and the page got all covered in inky swirls that didn't make any sense.
Eirnae manages to close the tome and set it to the side without dislodging Pappila, who seems reluctant to leave her Kithain's lap. "We read every day, and we are slowly working on syllables and how to pronounce harder words. Though I'll admit, when she gets a word right, she gets it right. She can pronounce elven even better than I, and that was the first language I ever learned." Eirnae sounds amused by this, and more than a trifle proud.
"Elven pretty," Pappila replies to Eirnae's praise in elven, her voice and careful pronounciation making the language sound like poetry.

Muris cuddled against Alces, grinning at the others. Filix didn't seem mad at her, which was definitely good, "Oh..well, you'll get it 'ventually. Prolly speak better'n me, too," the little mouse giggled, then blushed, remembering she was in the presence of nobles and should probably be paying more attention to the formation of her words, just like her Mama had taught her.
"Sissy's an elf too! She doesn't speak in elf, though. She says it's 'cause she doesn't like being 'minded of her heritage sometimes."
It was difficult to explain really, but she knew that Shiaree didn't like to be reminded of the things that'd gone on in her life before she came to Gaia, and to Tir Nan Og.

Filix listened, feeling somewhat proud of Pappila... even if she wasn't sure how to speak Elven herself. She glanced at Muris, and at Alces, grinning slightly. Filix found the way Muris spoke cute, and she didn't mind at all that the other didnt' speak full words.
"Neith's half-elf too. Maybe it's something lots of kithain are beforehand." Filix mused out loud, peering up at Eirnae's obvious elfen appearance. "Or maybe elves are easier to find for Miss Sajhiri?"
As Filix spoke, she picked up strands of long grass and started to idly weave them around in her fingers.

Alces was watching Eirnae and Pappila as they spoke, or in the young one's case, attempted to speak. He was quite impressed at how well she could talk. "I know Lady Xannyia read to me nearly every day, but I couldn't say nearly as much as this little one can." He shook his head as he remembered what his Kithain had written in the journal before he had been able to, "I could say 'Hello'...I think, maybe 'goodbye'." He had gone back to smiling. After hearing Pappila speak in evlish he stated, "I don't think I could ever speak elvish. Even just that little bit sounds...hard. Beautiful, but hard."
"Don't you think that sounds as though it woudl be difficult to learn?" he asked turning his head to look at Muris. Getting tired of kneeling, he went to sit down the rest of the way 'indian style', patting one of his knees so Muris could sit on it instead of the ground.
He nodded at Filix and gave a shrug, "Perhaps. I didn't realize so many of the Kithain were elven, or part elven."

Eirnae adds her own voice to the speculation, "Those of my kind who remained in the woodland areas of Faerun, the lands from which I hail, claim to have a close kindship with those they call Fey. In my lands, Fey are small beings with wings very similar to yours, who guard nature and have their own unique language, which we call Sylvan. Of course you all much resemble them when you leave this place, so perhaps there is a connection there."
Pappila tilts her head and listens to everyone's notions carefully, taking in all of the praise for her verbal skills with a grain of salt. If anything she expects more of herself, so to hear she is doing well may be encouraging, but she refuses to get prideful over it. Once Eirnae is done with a majority of her ideas, Pappila opts to squirm off of her Kithain's lap to try and climb into Filix's, a great display of trust for her even if Filix is not aware of it.
Eirnae resists the urge to help boost up the toddler into Filix's lap, letting her little Fey do this on her own for now. She nods to those gathered around, continuing with what she started earlier, "Which would explain how I am Kithain, at least, not being from Gaia originally."

Muris sits in Alces' lap as per his body-language suggestion, cuddling back against him.
"I dunno 'bout whether Sissy's from the same place as you," she tells Eirnae solemnly, "But maybe you can ask her sometime and find out! She'll come see me tonight-- she comes every night."
Still, this makes her curious. Shiaree had told her just after she'd been released that the reason she had been able to bring her out of the curse was because they were related. It had just never occured to the little mouse to wonder precisely -how- she could be related to a moon elf.

Filix blinked up at Pappila, her arm automatically leaning up within reach of Pappila if the other wanted to use it. Once Pappila was in her lap, she hugged Pappila gently and whispered, "You're already growing up fast. Soon you'll know lots of spells as well!"
Filix glanced back up at Muris and Alces, and wondered about that. Even if it hadn't been directed at her, it was curious about why there were so many elves. Maybe Neith would know? She'd have to ask her later.
"It's easier to learn if you're younger and can remember everything."

As Eirnae spoke Alces listened intently. He found this rather interesting, and had decided to go as Xannyia whether or not she was part elven or something of the sort when he next saw her. Which would be soon, since she came at least once everyother day, if not every day to make sure he was doing all right.
He smiled down at Muris a moment and then at Pappila as she climbed onto Filix's lap. "Yes, that would make it easier." Alces agreed with Filix and gave a nod of his head to show that.

((I know I'm posting out of turn, but I've got to run off to get ready for class. crying ))
Muris blinked as Fera pawed at the ground a moment, then hopped up out of Alces' lap, "Oh no! I forgot to walk all the horses!" she winced a bit in dismay, then gave them all a quick curtsey, "I'm sorry, I'm gonna hafta run! There's this feisty palomino that nearly hurt 'imself last time I forgot..."
With that, the little mouse scampered down the path, the leaves that had been in her hair from lying on the ground fluttering away behind her.

Eirnae waves after Muris' retreating form, already finding herself rather fond of the little girl. Pappila also waves from Filix's lap, calling out a "Goodbye, Muri!" after the Fey she is starting to think of as a good friend, using the pet name Muris herself told her she could use.
Pappila looks up at Filix and smiles brightly at the word 'spells', nodding enthusiasically. She wants more than anything to be able to entreat the elements to do her bidding, to be able to feel the magical energies her father had spoken of so fondly. What did it feel like, really? Did Filix know? Pappila pats at Filix's shoulder and tries to ask softly, "Magic?", not being sure if her friend will understand what she means.
Eirnae rises from her seat and carefully steps around Alces so she can stretch every muscle that threatened to fall asleep below the waist, deciding to also stretch out other areas right after just to feel the blood pumping through her body again. "Aaaah... better," she finally sighs, choosing to remain standng for now. "Pardon me if I do not sit, as my legs need a bit of a stand, I think. Now, regarding the issue of Fey and Elves, I believe we do share a kinship, but that whill take some research to prove. If any of you want to start that, feel free to ask me for the use of some of my elven tomes. I'll be happy to loan out a few copies as long as I get them back in the same condition they were when I handed them out."
