[7 due to teamwork] Sirsce knew she had to do this, even if it meant facing the festering feelings of anxiety that wormed their way into her gut. She wasn't the best senshi, she knew that, but Kaatje (or Gunn, as she identified herself) had a good point. All she could do was better herself, right? She arrived pretty close to late due to her inability to wake up to her alarm clock, but the fact that she showed up meant something, didn't it? At this point, Sirsce was so unsure of her senshi merits that she found it difficult to qualify her own actions as good or bad.
Luckily she didn't have to focus on it any further.
Physical activity offered a reprieve from overthinking her actions, and she was thankful for it. Kaatje covered all the bases - from water to backup in case someone injured themselves. She didn't have anything to worry about here. Besides, as an eternal herself, Kaatje likely knew what she was doing. This could only help.
Focusing on the task at hand (though she'd forgotten to begin with stretching), Sirsce started on the knee-ups using the redhead's instruction. Already immersed in the exercise, she completely forgot to offer a greeting to her declared partner, Liliana.

Angel arrived not far behind a girl with tri-colored hair, and the place immediately felt of vibrancy and energy. A little disconcerting, maybe, with all her morning run-ins with souls and spirits and the daily grind of research, but the atmosphere felt welcoming enough. So they were all senshi and knights, with the head of this little boot camp exercise being one of the top demons - er, senshi - of the legion. Court. Right. Idly she wondered if Gunn was codename for Glasyalabolas, or maybe Fenex. She paid it little heed.
As she looked about the place, Angel never glimpsed anyone that looked quite like a Colin to her. She found a signup sheet, more than enough people to prove utterly distracting to her, and the cat that awakened her to this strange new venue of magics - Ash. Giving the feline a short but energetic wave, she stooped momentarily to brush her fingers across fur in passing. Kaatje sounded as though she was starting the endeavor, and to linger in chat would just be rude.
As no stranger to exercise, Angel took to Kaatje's instructions easily enough. Knee-ups weren't hard, and she stayed in shape thanks to the couple patrols she had under her belt now, so she took to the exercise with vigor. It felt good to get out of the cramped apartment, escape the research and intermingle with her newfound peers. As it stood, she managed quite well in the knee-up warmup, likely because of pent-up energy.
Or maybe the spirits were just playing nice today.
After signing in and not being a 100% sure she liked having put the name Phact down on that paper without knowing these people, Delilah had managed to stay to the side. No one here knew her and she didn't know them. That was until a name caught her attention.
Dr. Jacobs? There was no way. That young man with all that hair was THE Dr. Jacobs? Well before this day was over, Delilah knew she had to meet him at least.
While staring in his direction, the girl almost missed the instructions. Knee Lifts? What were those?
It took her two seconds to realize as she gazed around. Starting slow, she just tried to keep pace with the guy closest to her. His blue eyes seemed firmly ready to go so she figured he was a good bet.
[Kinley's specialty is teamwork, so she loses 1 point. Her score is now a 7]
Knee lifts? No sweat. Kinley was a dancer; her body was used to the abuse. Ever single one of her muscles was used to being worked to the bone. Seriously, this was no sweat. Like, Kinley doubted that she would even break a sweat from this. She assumed that the rest of the boot camp would get harder, and she hoped she could keep up. Honestly, she was in really good shape. But then again, it was used to working in a different way. Surely this would get harder. This Kaatje seemed like a hard-a**.
Really, Kin was interested in learning more about combat. That was something she had zero experience in, and if she ever got into an unclose and personal fight with someone, she'd have no idea what to do. That was why she was really here.
As she finished her set of fifteen knee lifts, she looked around, wondering who would end up being her partner. There were nearly 20 people here. Who would she get?

Looks like we're partners! And glancing through your plot thread info for her, they could get along. =]
Jeanne spread out at Kaatje's direction, making sure she was appropriately spaced from everyone else. She was pretty sure that a physical challenge would be no sweat, but apparently she wasn't as healed from her injuries in the big battle as she thought - stretches shouldn't hurt, she knew that from martial arts, but they did anyway.
Luca followed the instructions to start stretching with gusto. She was totally in the zone and ready to go. Knee lifts? Torso twists? Not a problem! She'd done them before. Her kickboxing class instructor always made dead sure everyone stretched before they began, so Luca knew what to do. She was feeling pretty eager. What would the rest of the day hold for her? It was an interesting birthday thus far, that was for sure...

Arias had arrived just on time; he had been running around beforehand, but this wasn't an opportunity he wanted to miss. Running into youma time and time again and relying on luck and instinct was doing him fine so far, but he knew he couldn’t rely on those things forever.
He wanted to take a more hands-on approach in terms of bettering himself, and this was not only the first step—but also a good opportunity to meet some people.
He definitely needed some more connections.
He made his way to his partner and raised a friendly hand in greeting. "So, ah—it looks like you're my partner?" He offered a quick smile and introduced himself. "I'm Arias, nice to meet you."
Maybe it was because he was excited to know that there were people out there he could rely on, or maybe it's because of the sugar from all those cupcakes he'd had before heading over, but he felt good.
But, warming up was always the easy part, right?

[My plot thread is a little out of date, but I am glad you think that! I think Celaeno is super cute and would love to steal RP from you! I may or may not have your plot thread bookmarked so I don't forget to send you a PM for RPs in the near future 8D;]
She looked to Kaatje and gave a grin, "I'm sure I'd can stretch plenty fine, but I'll do it your way no biggie."
A familiar voice called out to her and she turned expression wide-eyed and excited, before she waved to Tallulah. She didn't really know what to say, she hadn't seen her in a long time and she had so many question, but apparently now was not the time.
Partners were assigned and that was nice but it seemed like right after everyone was warming up and so Lily didn't get a chance to partner up, but she kept the name in mind and tried to spot the girl out while she started her knee ups.
She wasn't so use to active stretching, but stretching was stretching and she got it well enough she suppose. It wasn't terribly difficult just new and she figured she would get the hang of it as time wore on ...

Orah was NEVER late. For someone who cared so much about others, being late was an almost unforgivable sin... and yet here she was, jogging towards the gate in a flustered rush. It was hard to pin point what it was that had ultimately put her past the time she'd wanted to arrive... but it was probably the clothes she was wearing that were truly to blame.
Honestly, the young woman was not athletic and had never aspired to be. Her slender form came from a vegetarian diet and a naturally high metabolism, not because she spent any time at all on physical fitness. Which meant, of course... she had nothing to wear for a day that promised to be full of physical activity. It had taken longer than she wanted to admit to figure out what she was going to wear, taking into consideration the need to move freely, not over heat... and still maintain some small bit of coverage. It was one thing to wear a short skirt, but for some reason, her mind had steered away from shorts in embarrassment.
In the end, she'd dug out a pair of black capri pants she tended to wear more as 'cleaning the house' clothes, with a stretchy lavender tank top that usually served as an undershirt. With her long, brown hair pulled up into a high pony tail, another unusual thing for her, Orah felt almost an entirely different person as she joined the line at the entrance and added her name to the clip board. It was weird to have so little clothing on... an almost embarrassing exposure of actual womanly curves the world rarely saw.
At least there were some people here she recognized. Eyes sweeping over the small crowd, Orah picked out Lilly, Xander, and even Paris, easing some of her tension a little. She'd trained with all of them before and it made her feel that perhaps today wouldn't be so bad, if they were here. The guardian at the front table was interesting, but the stretching was starting and she had little time to do more than greet the cat with respect and move into the crowd. Dark brown eyes searched for a familiar figure, but Gwen was missing as of yet. Seemingly running late as she had been, but there was still hope that Orah's team mate would show up and add to her ability to cope with this adventure. Anything could be conquered with her friends by her side.
Taking up a position towards the back of the group, Orah began to stretch as instructed, finding that her rush to get here had given her something of a jump on her warm up, her body limber and easy to move. She'd always been rather flexible and maybe, just maybe, a year of being a senshi had done something for her civilian form.
Once the gatorade made it to the tent, Marcella clawed open the shrink wrap and took out some of the bottles to arrange on a table, before putting the rest under it to save space. Then she dug the brimmed cap she had crammed into her first aid backpack out and put it on, threading her brown curly ponytail through the hole in the back.
Stepping out of the shade of the tent, the hazel-eyed girl paced around the perimeter of the gathered group of soldiers-to-be, keeping an eye out for anyone who looked to be suffering. So far so good for the most part, since they were just getting started, though there still looked to be a few who were better-prepared than others.
For the moment, everything seemed to be going smoothly; Marcella took some time to perform some knee-lifts, herself, to see how she measured up....
In spite of her fighting being more or less self-taught, and her inclination for being more support than combat as a senshi in the first place, the Latina kept up with the best of them. Marcella laughed a little to herself as she completed her test set; maybe she should have been keeping track of how much weight she lost just being Asclepius.
Kinley grinned at the boy the had made her way over to her. Watching him finish up his warm up, she stuck a hand out to him, a smile on her face. "'ello, Arias! I'm Kinley!" Her cheeks were a pretty shade of pink from the warm up, and she tucked a stray curl back into her ponytail. "It's nice ta meet you!" Her brogue was particularly thick today. It usually was when she got around boys, especially older boys. She always felt like such a little kid around older boys.
"So, whata ya think we're in for taday?"

Ahwww! Thanks! <3 We can definitely set something up after this! =]
Kaatje might have been taught to arrive early, but Bo had a lengthy history of being horrifically late. That being said, he did pretty decently today, especially given that the training was scheduled prior to noon. As Bo strolled over to the assorted group, he might have wondered to himself why he would even sign up for training in the first place. Organization was definitely not one of his strengths, and he tended to shy away from anything that added pressure to him.
Bo also had definitely not hydrated properly. In truth, he was a touch hungover and had only managed to down a glass of orange juice prior to rolling out of his apartment and down to the stadium. Seablue eyes squinted from behind cheap white-framed sunglasses. His outfit was equally disheveled -- wrinkled, stained, smelling of booze and other unmentionables. He wasn't even wearing tennis shoes. Nope, flip-flops.
That didn't dim the 1000 watt smile on his lips or the perpetual bounce in his step. Or keep him from saying, "Good morning!" to all the faces he passed, familiar or otherwise. Because he didn't follow directions well, Bo completely neglected to fill out his information form. Instead, he walked right up to the group in the middle of Kaatje's speech, tilting the sunglasses up so that they rested at the top of his head and waving up at her. Why not? He was goddamn friendly.
Within moments, everyone around him sprung into action. At first, he just sort of stared, head bobbing from side to side like he was at a chess tournament. Bo kicked off his flip-flops, did a little bending, and then began copying what everyone else was doing. He might be an athletic guy -- and freakishly tall at 6'5" -- but that only made him look sort of like a crippled heron. Perhaps he should have hydrated.
And yet, somehow, despite his appearance, Bo was executing some pretty solid knee-lifts. Living outside 99% of the time did have its benefits!

HI TEAMMATE. Sorry you have Bo. smile

Maggie (Constitution) scored a 3!
Maggie Lawrence had arrived before the official start time -- clad in what she thought was sophisticated, college-age work-out wear. To her, that meant a tight-fitting Under Armor t-shirt in bright pink with neon green sleeves and a matching pair of black fitted running capris with a matching pink/green lining. Even her shoes matched! They were gray Nikes with a pink swoosh outlined in neon green. Her hair had been meticulously combed back into a high, bobbing ponytail. She even had on a black iPod arm band so she could listen to music while she worked out.
The 14-year-old, obviously, had no idea what "boot camp" was. To her, it was what they had the people on The Biggest Loser do, or part of the name in one of the work out videos made by a Real Housewife of . To be honest, she had decided to come to this to mingle with other superheroes like herself. The whole sweaty, difficult part of it was not something she had particularly thought about.
While everyone else was meeting and greeting, Maggie had been tweeting furiously and reading up on PerezHilton.com. She managed to make it over to the sign up table before things started, quickly writing:
Name: Maggie Lawrence Email: mrs.bieber-lautner-pattinson@gmail.com Phone: XXX.XXX.XXXX Justice League Code Name: Auriga, Senshi of Pestilence
The teenager listened to everything Kaatje had to say, tucking her iPhone safely into her armband. She liked the idea of toning up and whatnot. She wanted to stop being a lame crimefighter and finally ascend to the glory she felt somewhat destined for. Also, damn, there were some cute future Mr. Lawrence's here for her to gawk at.
As she began her knee-lifts, Maggie kept her eyes peeled at, well, anything and everything worth staring at -- but yikes, her legs were feeling stiff today. Maybe she should have had juice with breakfast instead of an iced coffee...

After the knee lifts and the torso twists came arm rotations, leg overs, and knee overs; Kaatje had not been kidding when she had said they would be doing active stretching rather than static stretching. By the time she was done, she felt warmed up and ready to go. Not everyone in the crowd appeared the same way, but she wasn't going to hobble the ones who looked prepared by catering to people wearing ******** flip flops.
"Okay," she said, "this is when you hydrate. Get a drink, please, it is not a good day for you to get a heat injury. Once you have one, you'll have more, so don't even risk it." Heat casualties were serious business, and Kaatje could still remember being singled out and reminded to drink at least half a canteen an hour.
Keren handed her a list, and Kaatje surveyed it. She'd already shuffled a few people towards their partners, but a few hadn't yet been introduced. "Here's the pairs. Tallulah and Jeanne; Fritz and Bo; Luca and Orah; Failyn and Rhiannon; Lily and Sirsce; Delilah and Finn; Angel and Colin; Maggie and Paris; Kinley and Arias. Since we're evenly divvied up, no one is going to have to solo this with Keren. Good job!" Like they'd planned having an even number show, or something.
She rolled her shoulders. "Pushups! Not modified pushups. You are all going to be on your toes. Your elbows will go to ninety degree angles! Your chest will not touch the ground! If you must rest, you will do it in the 'up' position, not on the ground. The standard for the operational Air Force is eighteen pushups in a minute; the standard for soldiers heading to the battlefield is twenty-one. That is your goal. Pair up; your partner will count every proper pushup you can do."
Kaatje looked over to Keren. "Let's do this one with them," she said, quietly. "You first."

After the warm up was done she waved to her brother, giving him a very next time you're doing this too look which made him frown, not liking the idea at all. She grabbed a drink and quickly actually found her partner this time, bouncing over and introducing herself.
"Hi, I'm Liliana, its nice to meet you," she said with a happy smile. "Do you mind if I go first and you count then we can switch off?"
It wasn't really so much of a question, or suggestion as Lily got down and got ready to get started on her push-ups. While the warm up hadn't been her absolute best, she was now feeling energized and she was pretty excited to keep up the pace and see how she could do.
She looked to Sirce, to see if the girl was ready, before getting rolling with her pushups, which didn't seemed to be a problem for her at all.
