Bréanainn Cian Conri Charm's Professor(4-7)||Former Gryffindor||Father of Two ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗ He had not been waiting there for too long before Chrissy had come up to the door, his nerves sort of fading upon seeing her face. The blank expression he had adopted just before then instantly formed into a smile. "I would say t'e same, but you know, it is your house," he said to her with a brief chuckle. He gave her a kiss on the lips, taking her in an embrace for a second. He followed her into her house, slipping the light jacket in which he had been wearing, leaving the ring that he had in the jacket pocket. He had honestly forgotten about it. He was just ready to celebrate an occasion, and that was her and his birthday. He didn't know how he was so blessed to find a woman that shared the same birthday as he did. He would never forget it that was for sure. It would take him a lot to forget his own birthday.
"A good week just turned into a great one," he said to her with a smile. He took a seat on her couch glad to be relaxing as well. He had a good week, but the week always started to tire him out by the end of it. He loved teaching other students, but it could be taxing on the mind, having to teach them something he knew so well. Some got it quickly, but it could become at times, painstakingly boring. "How was your week? Are the new students treating you well?" He looked to her with a bright smile. He hoped she wasn't having problems with them. ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗

Bréanainn Cian Conri Charm's Professor(4-7)||Former Gryffindor||Father of Two ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗ Bréanainn couldn't help but smile at her question, Chrissy curling up next to him immediately after. He wrapped his arm around her and smiled down at her. "Okay, you caught me, maybe it was an underestimation," he said to her, taking a look around for a brief moment. Her house hadn't really changed over the time that they had been dating. But it was still a lot more cozy than his place, that was for sure. It certainly helped that he was with Chrissy whenever he was at her home, a shining light in his relatively uneventful life. Her and the kids of course. "Oh, I'm sure you abuse t'em all t'e time," he said, sarcastic tone in his his voice. Maybe I should've asked whet'er or not t'ey are responding to your abuse well." He chuckled, shifting his body a bit to get more comfortable.
He listened to her answer, glad to hear that she had a good group. He did find it a little weird that a kid just chose not to talk, but it wasn't his place to judge him for the decision. He was sure whatever reason it was, it had to be an...interesting one. Bréanainn himself couldn't imagine not talking at all, the former Gryffindor being one of the most talkative kids when he went to Hogwarts. "It does sound somewhat ridiculous to me as well," he said, assuring her. "I imagine it must be a little hard for you to teach someone who doesn't respond. I can only imagine the difficulty I'll have wit' him." He laughed a bit.
"My week was good. T'e new students are okay kids. I haven't even had an argument really. It is really surprising because t'ere always is one kid that starts arguing wit' another student. I'm glad I don't have a class like history. I can only imagine t'e arguments kids get into in t'ose classes t'at are heavily lecture based.," he said to her. ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗

Bréanainn Cian Conri Charm's Professor(4-7)||Former Gryffindor||Father of Two ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗ Bréanainn couldn't help but smile at the soft touch of her lips, further removing the nervousness he had harbored earlier that day. She was his one escape from it ironically. "Am I really?" he asked her out of curiosity. He didn't care what the answer was to the question. He could imagine he'd become more predictable over the time they'd been dating to the woman, but then again, obvious wasn't exactly predictable either. He smiled again as the soft touch of Chrissy's head had found its way onto his shoulder, the woman commenting on his joke about her abuse towards the students.
"I can definitely see t'at being t'e case. If you abuse t'em like you used to abuse me when we first started dating, t'en t'ey will want to be on t'eir best behavior," he joked, laughing a bit and winking at her. She didn't verbally abuse him by any means but sarcasm was definitely present quite often. He didn't complain about it however because for him, the one whose confidence was through the roof, could take it and even fire it back at her. It always provided for a good conversation even before they were dating. Upon hearing her observations of the young boy however and equating his behavior to that of Timothy Whitethorne, he instantly filled in the name. "Ah...you are talking about Timothy Whitethorne." He tried to actually enunciate the h's in his name, which he found it hard to do because of the accent that he had all of his life. "Well, t'at is understandable if he isn't actually mute. He might be a little shy t'ough or going t'rough some t'ings. My own brot'er had done the same t'ing when his wife had passed and he... He trailed off a bit, not too sure he should be revealing his brother's past. "Well, unbeknownst to me or anyone for that matter had given up his child Eurion." Bréanainn didn't go into the darker details about the whole ordeal. The child was doing well for himself presently the last time he had heard. Bréanainn had even had the pleasure of teaching him. He was a bit of a troublemaker, much like his Uncle during school years, but he seemed to turn that around.
He listened to her return comments about the classes, nodding his head along with her. She brought up very good points really. He'd rather them argue amongst themselves then with authority any day. He could quell an argument between kids, but there was something about arguing with a professor that strengthened student's resolve at times. He would argue that it gave them an adrenaline rush. It was much harder to deal with that than the later of the two. "I agree. The kid's have been wonderfully pleasant, but of course, t'ere will always be one I'm sure." That was his last thoughts on the subject. He of course could talk to her about school anytime he visited her in her office as she noted. So he moved on from it in favor of a much more intimate one.
He smiled when she asked him what his plans were for her. It was their birthday after all. But he did take this time to joke around a bit. "Hey, hey, hey, why do I always have to come up with the plans around here?" he joked, figuring he might as well see what she had to say before he answered her. ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗ OOC: Sorry for the wait. Really tough past couple of weeks.

Bréanainn Cian Conri Charm's Professor(4-7)||Former Gryffindor||Father of Two ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗ He couldn't help laugh but laugh at her words, but he did know that there was honesty around them. He was wrapped around her finger at that point. Anything she wanted him to do for her, he probably would. Not because the fact that he just naturally was 'whipped', but because he loved her. "Hey! I...yeah, I've got nothing at t'is point," he said to her with the faintest of grins. "You're right, I'm all yours Chrissy." He felt her head rest back against his shoulders again, taking this chance to get a little closer to her yet again.
He paid close attention to her words with interest, an even bigger smile forming on his face. "You know, I couldn't help but figure as much. I've never been one to show a lack of confidence," he said to her, the man boasting what would be the highest confidence levels the world has ever seen. He knew he could be obnoxious at times, but it seemed that Chrissy knew how to deal with it. Then again, the confidence she harbored for herself fiercely rivaled that of his own; so naturally their similarities helped their relationship quite a bit. Bréanainn finally understood why he always heard the phrase, 'Birds of a feather flock together.' Him and Chrissy had differences of course, her definitely being the more intelligent of the two, but they had their similarities.
It seemed that he held even more attention from Chrissy as the conversation shifted towards his brother. Bréanainn never really talked about his half-brother. There was a reason however. The man had a dark past that everyone in their family could not look away from. The man's mother had always been able to connect with Cadoc, but unfortunately, she was rather livid upon hearing that he had given up his child. Bréanainn was as well, knowing that he could have at least provided the boy with a better life than his brother would have given him. His brother had even presented him with a new name, 'Robin Gibbs'. However, the man did not tell him where he had taken him and left Bréanainn to try and search for the boy. But to no avail, he didn't find him. It wasn't until over ten years later that he would first meet the boy. "Yes, I do. Do you remember when I asked you about a certain student...Robin? It was a few years ago, but I do remember asking about him. I never t'ought t'at it would take fourteen or fifteen years later until I would actually get to meet him. He of course hadn't a clue who I was and still doesn't. I never had the chance too...properly tell him, which I actually wanted to ask you about. Do you t'ink I should tell him t'e truth? When Mary and Quinn were born, family became an absolute priority and Robin...well, he is family," he said, confiding the only secret he had left to tell. He hoped she didn't think any less of him for it either. The only reason he didn't tell her was because the lone fact that he didn't want her to believe that he would be a father that would just leave his children when the going gets tough because he wasn't.
He watched in surprise as she stood on her feet. Her opinions on his brother's actions were quite cold, but the interesting part is that he had agreed with her. Bréanainn did instantly feel terrible because he made Chrissy reminisce on such a bad memory of hers. It was certainly not his intention. He did listen to what she had to say however, not interrupting her. He waited until she sat back down to say anything of note. "Chrissy, just know t'at I couldn't agree with you more. It isn't a good excuse for it. In fact, I told him just t'at after a few mont's of his prolonged silence. Unfortunately, months turned into years very quickly. All he told me about t'at was t'at he was in France, t'at's it. Didn't hear anyt'ing from him during t'ose few years. his mot'er was devastated and never forgave him for the whole ordeal, but I did, because he was family," he said to her, shaking his head. "Maybe I'm a bit naive for it, but I believe in second chances."
He was glad that the conversation got a little lighter though. He did take his chance to apologize for making her think about what had to be the most traumatic event during her life. He turned his head to her and made sure he had made some eye contact with her. He took her hand in his. "Listen, I'm sorry I made you recall t'at event in your life. It was not my intention," he said sincerely. He had not even thought of the prospect before he had said anything. "So, let me cook you dinner to make it up to you. That's one of the things I wanted to do for you for your birthday." Chrissy usually was the one cooking whenever he came over, but he figured he could give it a try. He knew how to cook pretty well, his mother giving him a few lessons on how to cook some traditional Irish foods. So, he hoped it would go well. ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗ OOC: Fortunately, I'm out of school for the week; so I can post whenever this week.

Bréanainn Cian Conri Charm's Professor(4-7)||Former Gryffindor||Father of Two ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗ Her words resonated through him and made its way through him like a speeding bullet. He was left wordless as he began to feel as if he made the biggest mistake in his life not telling the boy that he was biological family. All of those times he could've told the poor boy and well...he didn't seize the opportunity. "I don't know why I didn't tell him Chrissy. I still to this day question 'why?'," he responded to her question, silencing himself afterward. Was he a coward? Did he not say anything to the young boy because Bréanainn was afraid of what he would say? All these years he could've told Theo about his real family and he didn't, that was the fact in all of it.
He took the tongue-lashing from Chrissy with patience, her words cutting through him like a hot-knife. It just made him all-the-more realize that withholding information from Theo was just a huge mistake. She did take the chance to insult his brother, albeit justifiable. He would not say anything because Cadoc did deserve the hostility. Bréanainn himself was hostile towards him because of what he had done. In the eyes of many, the mistakes were ones in which although self-repentance was possible, forgiveness from others was not. He selfishly gave up his first born child in a feeble attempt to move past his wife's demise and that to most would be considered unforgivable. "Alright, I will tell him as soon as possible...everyt'ing. I get now how big of a mistake it was to wit'hold t'at kind of information from my own nephew," he trailed, leaving the conversation at that. He wouldn't discuss the newfound ethics. Because he did believe that he had it, but for some reason did not show it. Maybe he was just a coward.
He started to feel as if he was somehow completely in the wrong as she pulled her hand away from him. He also got the notion that she was frustrated with him about it, but he didn't know. He just let the subject go as she instructed, feeling as if it would be meaningless to discuss it any further. She obviously had some bad memories about it; so he would not press her to relive them. He wouldn't wish that on his worst enemy, let alone his significant other. So, he just let the conversation switch towards his cooking. "Uhm...yeah, I can. My mot'er taught me how to prepare some traditional Irish foods during my Hogwarts years and I never forgot t'em. I mean, I'm not an amazing chef, but I'm at least slightly proficient," he said to her with a bit of uncertainty. He hoped he didn't screw it up, but he knew if he did, he would just give up on the endeavor.
"Well, as for my birthday, I'm not sure I really need anything. Spending the time with you in great enough for me," he revealed to her, the smile he had once carried on his face returning. He wanted to make the best out of the day after their somewhat depressing conversation. ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗ OOC: Hey, I hope all goes well with your surgery! Hope everything is okay too.

Bréanainn Cian Conri Charm's Professor(4-7)||Former Gryffindor||Father of Two ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗ Bréanainn accepted the truths behind her words with a nod of his head. Regret only holds a person back and Bréanainn couldn't let himself feel as if it was a mistake to not tell the boy any longer. The temptation of feeling regret sometimes overwhelmed one's will however and he found himself falling under its pressure. If not for Chrissy's words, the feeling would be ten fold however. He had to realize that he was not infallible. Everyone made mistakes, even him. "You're right. I can't let myself by t'is way," he said sternly, shaking his head for a few seconds before her offer was made.
Bréanainn was almost at a loss of words at the offer she made to him. The weight of her words hit him like a hammer and the warm touch of her hand only reinforced that even further. Her promise astounded him. He didn't know she would go to such great lengths to help him and he loved that she would. He took this time to give her a kiss to the cheek as he thought about what to say to her. He knew his answer almost immediately, but his loss for words had lingered. "I wouldn't have it any ot'er way Chrissy. I would love to have you t'ere by my side when I tell him," he admitted to her, a smile forming on his face. It was at this point that Bréanainn came to realize, Chrissy was the love of his life. He always had his doubts, mainly from his own past experiences, but he knew if she indeed did this for him, his doubt would vanish. His thoughts lingered to the ring that was within his jacket pocket back near the home's entrance. "Maybe he'll accept me as his family. I certainly hope he will but we will see."
As the conversation moved to cooking, the mood really lightened, and despite how happy he was when Chrissy told him she would go with him, he was thankful. He was also thankful that he actually got that conversation out of the way and she didn't hate him afterward. It was the only thing that he had left to reveal to her, the beautiful brunette knowing everything else there was to know about him. Well, other than his cooking experience, which she seemed a bit surprised to hear about as well. He did spare a laugh when she said that he was a better cook than she was in Irish dishes. "Honestly, you probably still are, but my mot'er does make a good dublin coddle and even better beer bread," he said, still laughing. "But I figured since you were the one t'at always cooks that I'd give you a break for t'e day."
"You better have fait' in me!" he said jokingly, actually hoping that he didn't let her down though. But then again, her beef stew was amazing. But was it amazing enough to butcher one of his presents to her...yes, definitely. But he knew that he shouldn't do that. "Hey, it is true. I enjoy my time wit' you, whet'er it is like we did before or ot'er t'ings," he responded, birthdays always being the best time of the year for more reasons than one. ⊗⊗⊗⊗⊗ OOC: I'm glad that it seemed to go well!
