At last, Rik's strength advantage was starting to come into play as Salem felt himself going from the stable and secure headlock he was enjoying to being hefted up into the air, catching a plethora of camera flashes on his way over Rik and back down to the canvas by way of his back suplex reversal! Hitting the mat hard, the defending Rookie of the Year flopped like a fish for a second - spine, bowing back and forth in agony as he writhed on the mat and held his spine in pain! Could this be a turning point for the challenger against the former Asylum Champion?!

Rik, finally getting an offensive move, heard the crowd with an "Oooooh!" for the Back Suplex, the mat hitting hard making a great sound that even the cheap seats would hear. He rolled to his knees, slowly getting to one foot, getting his breath, awaiting for Salem to get to his feet.

Salem was struggling to keep the discs of his spine aligned following the suplex he'd been forced to suffer through at the hands of Rik Rip 'Em, but there wasn't any amount of crowd support or name-brand value that could make the pain in his back subside. Reaching out from the canvas, Salem grasped at the bottom rope, desperately trying to pull himself up one cable at a time, momentarily rocked by the sudden, superior strength his opponent possessed! This would be a costly fight for Croft if the M.W. Deuce was made to withstand much more of that!

Rik saw Salem get up near the ropes, and went to take advantage, moving quickly to him, Rik went to throw a knee to his ribs, and would try and Irish Whip out of the ropes.

Salem felt Rik's knee eat into his ribs like an arrow, digging hard into the flesh and bone with enough force to make the M.W. Deuce gasp in pain and shock. Unable to adequately defend himself, Salem was pulled off the ropes and thrown across the ring, stumbling a bit from breathlessness on his way to and from the cables! Being all he could do to keep on his feet, it didn't look like Croft could manage much of a defense should Rik seize the moment and strike!

Rik moved along with Salem, stopping in the middle of the ring, awaiting Salem to bounce back to attempt a Power Slam! Looking to do more damage to the back!

With excessive force, Salem was slammed down into the mat hard enough to bounce him off a couple feet from the mat and back down to the ground. Grievously stunted in his quest for dominance by the aggressive tone Rik was taking towards his back, Salem gripped his lumbar and groaned, rolling to his side while squinting through the stinging that was assaulting his nervous system! Gasps could be heard all about as Rik was starting to cement his hold on the pulse of this match!

Rik stood straight up on his knees, leaning his head back letting out a big "Ooh rah!" the trademark of the Marines. After this bit of show boating, Rik went to hook the far leg for the pin.

Salem could hear Rik boast, even if he couldn't see it...but more so, he could feel Rik, his weight bearing down on him, his grip pulling Salem's leg up to add pressure to the pin attempt. The referee was dropping low, checking Croft's shoulders, and began the count. "One! Two!" he began, but the sudden opening of Salem's eyes and bucking of The Deuce's shoulder would break the cover, a dazed warrior looking up at the set lights after having evaded the pinfall, a glaze over his eyes. This was going to hurt.

Rik got to a knee, looking at the ref, perhaps it was his showboating that didn't get the pinfall, or Salem wasn't going to be pinned easily at all. Either way he had to continue, and stood up, and backed up a good couple of feet away from Salem. He crouched down awaiting for Salem to get up, feeling the momentum and the second wind behind him, as the crowd was now behind him, and were definitely enjoying this back and forth affair!

Salem was trying to sit back up, but the struggle was proving harder than he'd expected what with the toll having been taken out on his back in the recent moments of this match. Still, the fans were ecstatic at the prospect of the M.W. Deuce returning to his feet to re-enter the fray, urging him onto his knees as he looked up from the canvas over at the awaiting Rik. Smirking through the pain that was clearly still shooting through his body, Salem nodded, planting a foot and waving Rik on with a gesture of his hand! Was the former Asylum Champion telling the bigger brawler to bring it on?!

Rik and Salem were both beaten and battered from the match, the crowd going "Oooohhhhhhh!" again as Rik was easily obliging, as he spun once, gaining momentum for the Discus Clothesline!

Rik lumbered forward with the ferocity of a raging rhino, but Salem was keen on his opponent's end-game maneuvers! Though a clothesline from such a powerful adversary would almost certainly spell defeat for most people, it was Croft's quickness that came into play here - the former Asylum Champion ducking the lariat maneuver while trying to wrap up Rik around the waist from behind! Putting added strain on his spine, the M.W. Deuce struggled to hoist Rik up and, if successful, spin around for his own signature, the Suplex Neckbreaker!

Rik felt himself being put in the Suplex position, it didn't matter if it was a normal Suplex or his signature Suplex Neckbreaker, but Rik was lifted, and became dead weight as he shot his feet down towards the mat, looking to stop Salem from the attempt!

It was hard enough trying to get Rik up on his own, but with his opponent going limp in order to add more drag to his hefty body, Salem winced as his back started to give, forcing the former Asylum Champion to sit his adversary back down! Uh-oh! This wasn't good!
