She turned her face up towards his. "Alone?" A frown set into her features. "So you never knew your mother? Or father? Or siblings?" Although times like today she couldn't stand her family at the same time she couldn't imagine life without them. Who would she be today without them?I gotta go to work for a bit. >.> I'll be back later

Quan shook his head. "Alone." he confirmed. "The earth under our feet and the sky above are my parents. And the forest animals and the plants are my brothers and sisters." He said and looked side ways at her. "Do you have any family?"(lol kk)

She shivered at the thought of being all alone all the time. She nodded as he asked his question. "Yes. Two mothers and a younger sister." She smiled at the thought of them all. "We're all very... different."

Quan raised an eye brow at her. "Different?" He asked and then looked forward again, they were still inclining up the hill.

She raised to head to look up the hill that they were climbing, a small huff coming over her, she didn't hike much honestly. "Yeah different. We're all very individual. Melody is very calm, soft and sweet but has a protective side. Desponia has energy, drive, and spirit but is very caring. My sister, Honoka, is a little crazy, bouncy, and energetic with a smile that could light up the night. But she's also a ditz." She wrinkled up her nose at this but then laughed.

Quan chuckled a bit as they continued to walk he noticed that she was starting to huff a bit so he slowed a bit, but not noticeable that he was. "They sound wonderful. " he said. "So you like Science and yet you like nature?" he asked looking over towards her.

She smiled as he said they sounded wonderful. She did tend to think so herself. "Yes. I like order. Nature has perfect orders all around it. Take..." she trails off for a moment thinking of an example. "Take a seashell. It's a perfect spiral. Or a tree that when you cut it down you can count its rings to see how old it was. Or the fact that the butterfly starts as a lowly caterpillar eating the leaves before going into a cocoon and becoming a beautiful butterfly that only lives for a couple days." She grinned at him. "Nature is amazing and we have so much to learn from it!"

Quan thought of this as she talked. He frowned a bit. " but what of the science and man made chemicals that kill nature?" He said as looked to the side at her to see her reaction.

She nodded at this, it was in fact a reasonable point. "I would like to think that man is not intentionally trying to hurt nature, but more being able to co-exist with it." Her eyes swept towards him but her head didn't move. "Although I will not deny that there are some people that just want to destroy nature for the money in it." This was the beast that was capitalism. "As a scientist I don't understand why they wish to do this as I can only see the beauty in what we can learn from it." Seeing that they were finally approaching the top of the hill she let out her breath in relief and as they crossed over the top she brought her breath back in sharply taking it all in. "I want to help people understand what's out here so that we'll have more people that will learn to love nature and less that wish to destroy it."Damn that girl can speak. -applauds her lightly in my head-

Quan continued to walk as she talked about her option on science and environment. Once she said "As a scientist I don't understand why they wish to do this as I can only see the beauty in what we can learn from it." He let his lips turn upwards as he smiled. He look side long at her as she let a breath of relief as they got to the top of the large hill and started to breath heavily. He chuckled internally knowing that she’ll probably forget about the rather large climb very soon. “I’m glad you said that.” He looked over at her and smiled. “This way.” He said again as he turn to the left and disappear thought some bushes. He walked towards the end of the cliff that over looked the forest.
