Vivina watched eagerly as Earako went up. She was at the first branch unlike the others. Well at least the bat wouldn't be alone as she herself will be on the first branch as well. She looked at Earako jump off. She floated there, but didn't go anywhere. Then something fell and Vivina covered her ears as she heard a loud shriek. Ouch...Her own eyes were sensitive also, but not so much that she needed sunglasses. Then a thought dawned upon her. What if her own glasses fell off as well? She couldn't see without them, thus creating a problem. But then, seeing as those sunglasses didn't break, she guessed it was safe and that someone else can get her glasses for her. She went up for her turn, hearing the really hyper girl cheering her in the back.

With a deep breath, she jumped onto the first branch. Not too high and not too low. Spreading her arms and legs, she let her patagiums unfold a bit. She pushed up her glasses making sure they wouldn't fall off and with smile of determination, she jumped. Immediately the membranes stretched out to their full length and Vivina felt the air blow into them. So she is able to glide indoors. Well that was enough to satisfy her. She glided maybe a few feet before she noticed she was going to fly past the safety cushions. Gliding seemed easier than flying with wings, but sometimes, it seemed too easy.

Worrying that she'd run into a wall, she veered over to the left roughly and sharply that she dropped a few feet then regained the glide again. Then she realized she was gliding downward. She screamed as the floor rushed up to her until she unknowingly pulled upward. Opening one of her eyes to see if she crashed yet, she noticed a pair of wings and the back of someone's head. She screamed again and tried to turn away, but was too late. With a thud, she ran into whomever was the poor kid and tumbled on the ground, sitting up very shaken on top of the person's back.

She shook her head trying to get her vision focused. For one thing, her glasses were askew, not flung some few feet away from her. Another, she glided right into someone and didn't know how she managed to do so. And lastly, that person was the owl guy. She jumped quickly off of him, thinking that he would kill her later. She stood there quite shaken and nearly burst out into tears. Landing a good glide was never her thing as she almost always broke something. This time, she feared that she may have broken a person. Why is it that she can never get the landing right? She felt all the eyes of the other students on her and lowered her head in shame. She knew that she did very well with the gliding and all, but her humiliating landing and the fact that she may have hurt someone that may kill her overwhelmed her joy.

It gave Paxton a somewhat twisted sense of satisfaction as he watched Liang hit the ground. Oh, children at his age were far to young to understand the sophistication of the perverse pleasures of sadism. Paxton was just feeling emotions which come to children naturally, a 'Ha, ha! You deserved it!' attitude. Where was Ms. High and Mighty now? Only moments ago she had staring at him as if he were an embarrassment. Now she was the one laying on those cushions. Like his it seemed hers had been a rather nasty spill. He didn't notice it, but there was a tiny smile upon his face, as he watched Orpheus come over to her.

Of coarse, Liang did get farther than Paxton, but pointing out to him would have been futile. With the ruckus over Laing done with Paxton stood back and watched as the others went. That girl with the black wings...she seemed to fair pretty well, erm, that was until she screamed and started to fall. That furry girl, he didn't know her species, what had her name been? Vivina? Yes, yes that's what the man with red hair had called her. She couldn't fly, no wings, but it appeared she could somehow glide along. There should have been one more going, but it appeared he was tangled up (literally) with something (or someone) at the moment. So would it be him then again? It seemed things were really getting...crazy, perhaps he should wait.

Oh no. Gabby had spotted him fixing his wing. The last thing he needed was for her to see it and point it out to the man with red hair or one of the other kids. Especially Liang, she would probably stare at him like she had when he had fallen the first time. He grumpily shuffled away from Gabby, folding his wings inward so it would be harder for her to see the bandage he had made. "No, es nothing.."

Orphues lifted a hand to his head and started to laugh, he couldn't help it. It seemed like maybe he should have thought this one through a little bit more before he'd started up this flying class huh? He gave Liang a little smile then pushed up to his feet to call for the others to take a break after Earako's crash and tummble. Seemed he couldn't call out soon enough before Vivina's spectacular flight and crash... at least Ligeia was there to break her fall he supposed.

Ligeia gave sort of scree-squawk as he was suddenly the landing pad for the sugar glider child. He gave a little grunt as he pushed himself up to his hands and knees, he fluttered his wings a couple of times then looked back over his shoulder, dark eyes seeming to be filled with suprrise, "Ahhh... Are you ok?" He asked of the girl that had landed on him. He seemed more worried about her now he was wure his wings were fine then for himself, he felt fine but she looked a little upset over her landing. He had no idea that it was because she had landed on someone that might want to eat her. Instead he was worried that she had hurt herself.

"Alright... well we might take a break from this for now." He said to them. Maybe it was best that they do something else, less chance of anyone getting hurt anymore then they had already.

Vivina looked up slightly and, lost with her words, only managed a slight nod. Wiping a tear from the corner of her eyes, she waited for something to happen. When nothing did, she got some courage to speak, but very quietly. "Y-you're not going to eat me? B-but I thought you would be mad at me for gliding into you...Owls are scary to me..." She gulped as she finally told Ligeia why she'd been acting strange whenever he was near. Fixing her glasses a little more, she felt as if a heavy burden was lifted from her shoulders. She smiled wryly and wiped some more tears from her eyes.

Vivina turned slightly to hear Orpheus talk. Excellent, they were taking a break. At least this gave her time to recover from the accident and maybe talk to the others more. She supposed she could try to find out what DNA Liang has and if everyone was ok with their first attempt at flying. But first things first. She had to clear up this fear of owls confusion so that she can relax for the remainder of the lesson.

Earako walked backwards away from the cushions, watching as the next girl, the one who glided, moved up to the tree. She continued retreating toward the line as Vivina took off, impressed by the distance the girl managed to move. Oh sure, she crashed, and into the owl kid, but at least she stayed airborn! Earako had fallen like a rock, and all because the light had made her panic.

Stupid.

A bit disheartened, she was glad when Orpheus announced they'd take a break from jumping. She didn't want to make a fool of herself again so soon. But still, it'd been fun... for a minute. Maybe, just maybe, she'd get good at. She liked the idea of flying, even if the practice was more difficult than she'd expected.

Liang shivered at the attention that had been put on her. Her arm was throbbing, and it was kind of hard to keep it still. She whimpered a bit, looking around for somewhere she could hide to cry. Tears were welling up in her eyes, not only because her arm was hurting, but because she had drawn so much attention to herself. People were talking and talking, but she didn't answer anyone, just shut her eyes tight and tried to pretend she was somewhere else. Anywhere would be better than this.

A break? Good, she could go somewhere without people thinking she was weird. Before the teacher even finished his statement she had taken off toward the building, planning to hide herself in one of the empty rooms to cry for a little while. Eventually, she found one with a window facing the tree and curled up to the side of it, sniffling quietly. Why had mother made her come here? Well, she hadn't made her come, she'd wanted to learn to fly. But in the toddler's mind this was all someone else's fault.

Ligeia's eyes went a little bit wide at her comment then he lifted a gloved hand to cover his mouth and gave a little giggle, "Ahh? Eat? No, no. I do not eat classmates." He said assuringly to the sugar glider. The idea of it was something he found amusing since he DID eat critters in his sandwiches but he wouldn't eat D-Corp children based off those critters. It wasn't quite the same after all.

He ruffled his wings then flapped them, "And I am one pi-Eeeeece so there is no need for alarm." He said then stretched out, a little sore here and there but that was to be expected since he'd gotten to see what the cushions felt like.

Orpheus watched Liang run off but as Gabby followed her he let them go, the lovebird might be the best idea to get Liang to come back, a peer as opposed to her teacher.

"Ok. We are gonna do some stregth building exercies... erm. Well those of you with wings anyway. Vivina we will figure something out for you since you don't have the same sort of build as the others in class." He tapped a finger against his chin as he tried to decide on what that would be.

Earako flexed her wings, wondering exactly what strength building excercies might involve. Everything was in a flurry... the two brightly coloured girls had disappeared, the girl she'd been talking to had crashed into the boy with the whitish wings. She felt... uncomfortable. A bit isolated. There was still the brightly coloured boy, but she wasn't exactly ready to approach him.

Instead, she focused on Mr. Orpheus. Her Da' was nice to her, Kyle was nice to her, and as a result Earako was most comfortable around males overall. She didn't exactly had a female role model to look to for guidence. Just Lithle, and well, Lithle was more of a boy than Da' sometimes.

"Are we gonna lift weights?" She asked, moving closer to the teacher in hopes of gaining some amount of attention. "Or... umm... do pushups?"

That's what her Da' did when he was getting strong and the idea was intimidating for her. Da's weights were too heavy for her to lift, and she could only do pushups if she went on her wings. She might be as bad at getting strong as she was at flying!

Vivina sighed. Good, the boy wasn't going to harm her in anyway possible. She gave Ligeia a smile and spoke softly. "I'm sorry for thinking you were a bad person. I think some birds are scary, and an owl is one of them." Thinking that she and Ligeia could get to know each other better later, she bowed and went back to find her hat under the chair she left it at.

Feeling renewed, she listened as Orpheus spoke. Strength building exercises? That would be useless for her wingless body. She just needed help with landing on her feet. Maybe if she bent down and touched her toes? Vivina giggled at the thought and did it anyway. She reached down as far as she could and barely brushed the tip of her feet. Frowning, she wondered why she couldn't bend all the way down. She stood back up and shrugged.

Turning about, she saw Earako alone and went over to her. She too was alone and saw that the others were busy and off to doing whatever. She smiled and stopped right next to the bat. "Hi again! I saw you trying to fly. I think you did really well. At least you didn't run into someone." She rubbed her arm which was now starting to bother her. Looking over at it, she saw a large bruise and she winced at the pain.

"Lets see then. Well for strength training of his wings Ligeia does this jump, flutter thing. You never have to worry about your feet being out from under you and you get to build up the musts in you wings. Maybe then they would be better at supporting you?" He said then motioned to Ligeia to come over.

Ligeia looked at his father then hurried over his side, wings fluttering.

"Got the girls pounging you already huh?" He teased his son quietly.

Ligeia let out a scree and fluffed up, face reddening a bit in embaressment, "Dad!"

"Alright, alright. Joking, alright. demonstrate for our winged classmates your wing exercises?"

Ligeia nodded, it was simple enough that he wasn't sure why one would have to demonstrate. You used your legs to jump up as high as you could, then flapped to keep up in the air for as long as you could, then you landed. Repeat process. He did it a couple times then stopped and smiled, "Umm... ta-dah?"

Orpheus patted him on the head, "Good job." He told him, "Maybe out glider can do the same? Get a few steps running start, jump, miny glide? It would help you to get used to the process and get a better grasp on the landing."

He then walked over to Ligeia and took the ribbon he wore to tie back his long hair, "Now, Earako. I want you to tie this to the arms of your glasses. that way you needn't worry about them falling off again if they are secure to your head."

"You glided really good!" Earako stated, in turn. "Just crashed a' the end." She gave Vivina a small, slightly shy smile. She rather liked the glider girl, and it was really, really nice to have another 'winger' that wasn't all feathery. Earako already felt left out with being so pale, and that was bad enough.

She watched carefully as Ligeia demonstrated the exercise, imitating the movements without actually holding them. Her own little jump, and a fluttering of her wings, but seperate, so she didn't hover like the owl boy did. Of course, she wouldn't be able to do it so well as he did. He was so obviously older and more experianced. Earako was almost, just a little jealous. It wasn't fair!

She might even have fallen into full fledged jealousy of the boys obvious superiority if she wasn't handed his ribbon. Feeling guilty for her briefly dark feelings, the albino girl lowered her eyes when she took the ribbon, "Thank you." She whispered, with a weak smile.

Keeping her head as lowered as possible, Earako narrowed her eyes to slits, ignoring the glare of the sun that still hit. Da' said it was because she was a bat and an albino, that the light hurt her eyes so much. Quickly she tied the ribbon around the glasses and slid them back on. She had to adjust it a bit, but it soon held her protective eyeware firmly in place. She grinned, forgetting her brief guilt, and more than ready to practice.

"Haha...thanks a lot! The crash kinda hurt...but it was fun overall!" She smiled back and fixed her hair as it was getting in her rather large eyes. Earako was a nice friend to have around. Maybe sometime they should play together outside of class.

Ignoring the pain in her arm, she heard Orpheus speak again. Then she heard Ligeia complaining about something and she giggled. She watched at he demonstrated the exercise and tilted her head. No no no, this exercise was definitely not for her. She then jumped a bit when the teacher told her what she could do. Thinking that that was a fairly good idea, she prepared to try it out.

Vivina walked back to a wall and pushed her glasses up, hoping they would stay on her face. Earako had gotten a ribbon for her glasses, but these glasses were meant to fit her and stay on her in most circumstances. It's just that it slides down her nose often. She looked ahead of her and hoped that she'd be able to at least land on the cushions this time. She took a deep breath and ran a few feet, keeping her arms tightly against her body so that her patagiums wouldn't act like mini parachutes, slowing her down.

She quickly jumped and spread her arms out as well as her legs. Gliding only a few feet above the ground, she tried to maneuver herself over the cushions to land safely. She tried to pull her legs out in front of her to land, but tumled over in the air in a small cartwheel and landed on her back. She giggled for no reason and looked up towards the ceiling. Well, at least she got in the air from the ground. That was an accomplishment for her. Now to practice on the landings some more. She got up and walked back to the wall to try again.

Paxton, he felt so uncomfortable when Gabby had grabbed his arm. No, he didn't want to be touched, he didn't want---he didn't want her near him. It was so hard to stand there in front of all these people in this room. They were watching him...each and every one of them watching him. He didn't like it. It was so tempting just to--

She left him. Wh-why? It wasn't usually like her to leave with out him... Only a split second ago had Gabby been tugging on Paxton's arm, squawking frantically at him to follow her. So, that girl with the colorful feathers had hurt herself? So what, she deserved it. People get what they deserved, Keanu had gotten what he deserved when Paxton had called him a killer, and now this girl, who was injured she got what she deserved, pain for being so weak. In fact, Paxton had gotten what he deserved to, the same as that girl with the fan, he had been weak and so when he crashed and ruined his pin-feather, it was just getting what he deserved. So fine, let Gabby chase after that girl if she wanted to, besides, what did he care right? He had wanted to be rid of her and now she was gone.

He looked up at the man with red hair who was now directing the...owl? Yes, the owl, he was showing wing exercises. Paxton watched as Ligeia jumped up a few feet in the air. It was less than graceful but he managed to stay up for a bit. Paxton tried the same. His jump and miniature flight didn't last long, his feet hitting the ground with a hard thump. Perhaps, this was the problem to begin with. He needed to figure out how the simple mechanics combined with strength. Flying wasn't just about being able to flap your wings there was a--a science to it! An art. On his next jump Paxton managed to stay up a bit longer and on the next jump, a bit longer turned into a good thirty seconds, then forty.

A smug smile slid across the boys face, as his eyes darted up to the branches again. The second one again, oh no, no he would prove to EVERYONE this time that not only could he fly...but he was going to make it from the very top branch. But yet, if he were going to prove that to everyone he needed to get Gabby and that other girl back in here. With out a word to Orpheus Paxton walked out of the room to the hall in search of the two girls. He slunk against the wall when he spotted them, making sure to keep his distance but at the same time remind them of his presence. "Hey guys.....you should get back to class." His voice was warm enough, too bad Paxton had ulterior motives for getting the girls back, other than just wanting to help Liang.

Well everyone else was doing a good job. The glider... well... glided. And the bright boy bird seemed to be having a pretty easy time of it. Earako had to get involved before they all lept ahead of her, and left her standing, unflightworthy while they were soaring above.

Taking a deep breath, she streached out her dark wings to their fullest extent, jumped as high as she could, and started flapping frantically. It helped, she hovered for a second, but the wild, random wing beats weren't exactly the best for flying. At least her glasses stayed in place.

She paused after the first jump, analizing it a bit. It had felt wrong somehow. Her instincts told her to slow down, take control. She was meant to take to the air, she could do this. The weight of her body on her wings was still a shock, but a little build up of muscle would help with that.

Again! A quick jump, pushing her into the air, and she beat her wings carefully, in time with each other. It worked much better, allowing her to hover above the ground. The actual feeling of it was distracting, she giggled excitedly, clapping her hands together and losing track of the rhythm. That caused a decent, though an easy one, a feathers fall back to the ground.

"I did it!" She called, excitedly, though even so pleased an announcement was made softly.
