Everything Bix said made so much sense that it dumbfounded Sasha. She hadn't really ever stopped to take the time to really look at the bigger picture. When she did, the realizations were frightening. Everything she'd done to this point - changing the way she looked, changing the way she carried herself, the thrilling fights with Rep - everything - had been a band-aid. A way to ignore the real issue at hand.
"I want it all to mean something. I don't want to just be another hunter in the ground when everything is said and done. I don't want to be nothing - and knowing what I do now, about my family - well, it's brought me a lot of clarity about my goals."
It sounded as if the weather was the topic (sunny skies with a chance for rain) and not the fact that she wanted so much more for herself - power, respect, knowledge, (to be feared).
"I'm not going to, ah... roll over. I'm going to fight, and I'm going to come out on top."
And I don't care who I have to step on to get there, went unsaid, but the thought resounded ever so loudly in her mind.
