"My shower's working," He offered, "Unless something's changed since yesterday... But Chantelle's been borrowing it, at least until she moved into Rep's old place- Gosh, do you believe there's a dancing pole installed there?" He was babbling out of nervousness, but what was he supposed to talk about it? He figured everything but the issue at hand would be safe grounds. Either way, he got up- he'd bring his kettle and hotplate and tea makings here. Make the place cozier until she settled a little and thinking clearer.

"No, no. It's such a pain to wash all this hair - I'm reminded now why I cut it in the first place - and I'd really much rather just stay here while you go."

A smile ghosted across her lips, and she lifted a hand to wave Jerry off.

"Alright... alright, I'll be right back," He smiled softly, "You could cut it again you know..." He hesitated a moment, a question suddenly rising that he hadn't even thought about until a moment ago... if she was in her Cousin's body... where was her cousin?

Maybe it was best not to ask those things just yet.

He dodged out the doorway to hurry down the hall.

Sasha hadn't even thought of cutting her hair again, the hair that wasn't really hers - mostly because she'd been under the assumption that she'd be getting her own body back.

The broken sound of laughter would likely follow Jerry down the hall.

Well, laughter was better than sobs right? He kept assuring himself that as he hurried down the hall to his room to gather his things. He grabbed a pillowcase, unplugged the hotplate and tossed it and the other supplies into the makeshift sack before glancing at his keyboard.

By the time there was noise at Sasha's door again, there was the sound of shuffling before the door was shoved open and he was hefting not only the runic-converted keyboard in behind his sack of goodies. "Where's a good outlet? I've still got a couple runic batteries for this thing..." He beamed, closing the door behind him.

Sasha was sitting on the bed, and when Jerry came back into the room and asked about an outlet, she used her foot to forcefully shove the bedside table away. Doing so revealed an outlet, only one plug occupied.

"So... Chantelle?"

She was mildly curious, but she asked mostly because she didn't feel like answering any more questions.

"Oh, Chantelle..." He laughed weakly, settling after the flinch he gave when she kicked hte table.

Therapy.

He carefully arranged the hotplate on the bedside table before hurrying to fill the kettle with bottled water before setting it down to boil. "Yeah she's... she's pretty great. We only just... er... started um... Well, I wouldn't call it dating we haven't really had any official dates yet, but... I don't know. I really like her."

He busied himself laying out two mugs that failed to shatter in the pillowcase and their respective teabags.

Sasha moved back on the bed, situating herself more comfortably (criss-cross applesauce) as she watched Jerry with a keen eye. It really wasn't any of her business, and she knew she had no right to ask questions.

Briefly falling silent, Sasha watched Jerry busy himself with the mugs.

"She seems.. interesting."

"She's really nice. I know, I know she seems... not... my normal type, but under all that makeup is a really sensitive, talented lady. You should hear her play piano." The kettle finally whistled and he poured them up.

Sasha waited patiently for Jerry to bring her the mug of tea. She continued to watch him with a calculated curiosity.

"I hope someday I'll be able to," she replied with mechanical politeness, lips pursed. "I've so much to catch up on, it seems."

"Yeah, I barely know what's going on anymore. Been trying to step up my training too. I've been working out more, does it show?" He lifted an arm to give it a flex and an eager grin. Chatting casually was better than laughing as though one's grip on reality was questionable.

Sasha smiled, nodding in response to his question. "It does. You've been staying out of trouble? Nothing... terrible's happened since your return from Scotland? Aside from the key, I mean. And your hospital stay - how long did you say you were stuck in the infirmary?"

"No- yes- n-no." He hesitated, wondering if he should tlak to her about the Charlotte fiasco, but figured maybe it could wait. He cleared his throat. "About two months. Maybe a little longer," He fidgeted. "It... it wasn't... it... they..." His hands fidgeted as he fumbled with sugar packets before just pushing the tea toward her for her to sort out herself. "It was a lot of... of solitary confinement," He cleared his throat again, sweat forming on his brow. "And um. Tests. I think.. I think I'm off the hook now, though. I hope. It was um. W-well, by the s-second month they um. Someone brought me my guitar at least and um. Yeah I'm happy to be out. Chantelle's been a good distraction, I think. I mean besides training and training and missions and stuff. We're going to the theater soon! Well, as soon as I confirm our clearance- I hope I don't have to change the dates for the tickets, they were a pain in the bum to procure I'll say that much-"

Sasha took her tea plain, cupping her hands around the warmth of the mug as she watched the steam swirl upwards. She blew on the hot liquid before taking a hesitant sip. Jerry had her full attention. It was nice, this friendly chit-chat - a far cry from the strained talks they'd been reduced to prior to her visit to Scotland.

When he spoke about Chantelle, it made Sasha realize just how lonely she was without ... Sasha cleared her throat.

"What are you planning on seeing on your trip to the theater?"

"Phantom of the Opera, ahahaha. A good staple, I thought! It was that or Jekyll and Hyde, she likes the gothy sort of things, but she had mentioned Phantom being her favorite so I thought... well. What else am I going to spend my money on? More ukuleles that'll just get smashed or haunted?" His own manic humor returned as he laughed a bit too hard at his own joke.

"It'll be nice. It's been nice. Normal feeling. I mean. Nothing we do is normal, but those little bits... I know you don't like hearing this sort of thing but... sometimes I feel like those small normal things, like even just... us here, now, chatting over a nice hot cup is enough to keep me sane you know?" He wet his lips and dumped another sugar packet into his own tea, "I've... you know. Pretty much... um. I don't expect... I don't know. I really do like her, though. She's very kind to me. I appreciate it a lot." By the look on his face under the watery smile, it was clear he was convinced it wouldn't last. None of this relationships tended to, but it was nice to be caught up in what he had while he had it. "The least of our worries, right? Ahahaha..."
