An endless circle of wordless apology, laced with bitterness on his side and self-reproach on hers. "Nothing is wrong with her. He got dressed in angry silence and tried to ignore the fact that he was cinching his belt to the very last hole and that even that was dangerously close to not enough, and he was a tiny self-contained thundercloud when he swept back through the waiting area, shaking and humiliated, past America without stopping, just offering in passing: "******** you and ******** Bashmet."

Startled, America quickly followed to catch up, looking back with a frown as a woman's voice called out, "Two months, Skeletor!"
"That was quick..." she began, tone pensive and all but ignoring his upset, as she generally did. "That was way too quick. What happened?"

America rolled her eyes, "Face it, this particular complication has been waiting in the rafters, so don't you boo-hoo at me over your shitty life choices." Stepping directly into his space, she leaned in close and continued more quietly, "I don't mix pleasure with tragedy, honey. Some other time."
When he wasn't busy feeling sorry for himself.
Which was beginning to look a lot like never.
