This was a bit of a harsh trade, especially now as their weapons were more obviously exposed. Still, so long as they were kept hilted and at their sides, there was no way that the naiad would become suspicious immediately. Nephi tried to ignore how cold he felt as the cloak came off him, shrugging it off and letting it fall from his body.
Unfortunately, unlike the faun, he was not covered in fur, so this weather probably felt chillier to him than it did to the faun. But as a Squire, he was used to training himself to be tough, no matter the elements. The Guardians and their will would take him through anything, even the harshest of times.
Flitter took out her coin, agreeing to the trade as well. Gratefully, she took the cloak, thinking that this could have only been a good exchange. It wasn't like she couldn't just get another one of the amulets, right? This cloak was much more immediately useful. It felt ... great against her hands alone, and to put it on around her...
The fauny let out a pleased sound as she put on the warm garment. "Ah, thank you, Nehemiah. I hope you appreciate the amulet."
Nephi clutched the amulet close to his heart, before placing it almost reverently into his pouch. "I do. I will treasure this. Thank you for this trade."

Rainbow Dash's eyes widened as they both removed their cloaks, revealing how heavily armed they were. Who just carried around weapons like that, especially kids? Rainbow Dash handed over her amulet and accepted the cloak gratefully and quickly threw it on. The warmth was a relief, but now she was in a hurry to get out of here, didn't matter where they went now. "Well thanks! I think me and Flitter here better get going now..." Dash didn't want to stick around and find out what those weapons were for. "Ah very well... we must be on our way as well. Back to warmth." Genesis faked a chuckle as she tucked away the medallion. One more item to go. In her mind, Genesis praised the Guardians for the good fortune they had in retrieving the medallions from the faunies. "Nehemiah?" Genesis called as she continued the same way they had been going when they "accidentally" ran into the faunies. They could change direction once they were out of sight.

Flitter was so warm that she almost didn't care about how armed the strange Pae'il were, but at the same time... she was with Rainbow Dash. The less time around these armed Pae'il, the better. She didn't know what exactly they had in mind caring around that level of weaponry, but she didn't really want to stick around and find out. She was warm, now, so she and Rainbow Dash could go about anywhere else.
"Thanks for the cloaks," offered Flitter, again, hurriedly, as she scampered off with her rainbow-haired friend.
Nephi praised the Guardians in his head as well. Despite the cold, this was easier than he expected to be. The cold was nothing compared to the good will and fortune the Guardians had shown them on this day, bringing them to winged faun who were very willing to simply hand over their amulets and allow the two Squires on their way.
His pace was fairly quick, trying to keep the blood moving in his body so it wouldn't feel so cold. When they were far enough away, Nephi redirected back in the direction of the lake, where he knew most of the naiad appeared to live.
"One down, one to go," murmured Nephi to Genesis.

Once they were a safe distance away, Genesis could not believe that things had gone so well. It had been a combination of both of them to do it, Genesis wasn't sure she would have been able to think of some of the things that Nephi had. "Yes... that was too fortunate. If they had been native faun I'm not sure it would have gone so well. I do not think it will be this easy with the naiads. We do not have anything to trade them..." Genesis nodded her head, but they were a lot closer now. If all else failed they could attempt the naiads another day. They wouldn't want to part with their weapons let alone arm the heretics.. Genesis followed Nephi in the direction towards the lake.

"It was definitely fortunate. I believe both Flitter and Rainbow Dash are so new to the ways of the tree that we were able to reason with them to let go of what seemed to be a rather useless amulet in comparison to the cloaks we wore." Nephi pursed his lips. He agreed, there was no way it would be this easy next time, not unless they found naiad that were sympathetic to the cause of the Guardians.
Some of the naiad had been on the Isle for a long time, as Nephi had understood. Not as long as the Angels and Demons, but they were the first of the two heretic races to show their faces. Perhaps this would mean that they would be easier to convince.
This could also mean that they understood the angelic and demonic ways better, and could see through any level of trickery.
"We will have to rely on things other than trade. If necessary, perhaps we can trick them," mused Nephi. He did not want to go any further than that, though, if it was necessary, they both had weapons and could probably force the naiad to fork over their cups. Intimidation would not be useful for them keeping a good face, but then, perhaps if it was only two naiad, it would not spread.
He'd rather do anything else possible first, though. Hopefully trickery would succeed.

Genesis nodded her head in agreement. "How to trick them..." It was something Genesis pondered as they made their slightly longer trek towards the lake. She remained quiet, conserving her warm breath, and her arms were wrapped tightly around her. Those cloaks really had been quite useful. "Could we convince them it is tainted?" Genesis pondered out loud as she walked along, keeping her eyes peeled for Naiad. Genesis wasn't even sure how much the heretics knew about or believed in the taint. She had seen the taint pursuing the faunies... and the Naiad leader had been there when the taint had shown itself at the swamp. But that didn't mean they believed in it. Genesis looked to Nephi to see if he had been pondering any ideas as well.

Convince them it was tainted? "Their vessels, you mean?" asked Nephi, just to clarify what she meant.
It was an interesting thought. Could they have possibly made the naiad believe that their cups were tainted? Perhaps they could convince them they contained tainted water. Nephi was almost certain it would not be an easy sell, but perhaps if they went about it right, it could work... They would have to be careful, though. One vocal misstep may clue the naiad in to what they were up to.
"We could try that." He took in a deep breath, bracing himself for the confrontation and the cold, before continuing on his walk. "That may be a little difficult, though. I do not know where they obtain these things from. It is possible that they would know where they get them from is untainted... I wish we had more clues about what these things were and how they worked." Nephi frowned, slightly, turning over what they could do in his head.
He paused, for a moment, lost in thought, before suddenly saying, "Perhaps we can convince them at they need to give it to us for some reason, or we need it more than them..."

"Yes," Genesis confirmed that she had been talking about the cups being tainted. "No, I have not a clue where they get these artifacts from. Is it safe to assume they get them from their leader? It might explain why everyone gets them since they are all unified under their leader..." That was the dangerous thing about heretics, they seemed to be more unified then the angels and demons were. "Perhaps we need to have it to rescue one of their own kind... a stranded Naiad." Genesis continued, playing off his idea of why they would need it more. "However, we would have to be certain they did not want to follow us to give it to their brethren them self..."

"I think so," murmured Nephi, when Genesis asked if it was safe to assume their leaders were the ones who gave them. It made sense and would definitely make the cup from a trusted source, which would make it difficult to play the 'cup is tainted' card.
The heretics seemed utterly devoted to their leaders, but it did not bother Nephi. The angels and demons had flourished for so long without an active leadership that the lack of unity made sense. When they took power, as the Holy Knights, the angels and demons would obey. The Holy Knights would make them, due to the will and blessing of the Guardians. That was how they would unite and become as tight as the heretics had appeared...
A stranded naiad? Nephi pursed his lips in interest, turning the idea over in his head a few times. This idea made sense to him. "We are more mobile than the naiad. Maybe we could convince them it is too far away and we would get to them much faster. It would let us get out of sight, too."

Genesis nodded her head, his ideas were good, that would be the perfect way to make sure that the Naiad would part with their cup. They would hardly be able to even walk on land, let alone be as quick as they could fly away. This was something they could easily do twice so that both Genesis and Nephi got a cup, or if there was two naiad they could easily create a second victim to get both of their cups. "Perhaps we should take to wing now and call for help as we arrive at the lake. Give credibility to our urgency." Genesis suggested since they were likely not too far from the lake now.

A well-formulated trick like this one was bound to get Nephi and Genesis the cups they needed for their quest. Nephi nodded to Genesis, spreading out his wings and taking flight into the air.
They were indeed not very far from the lake. That was good. Nephi did not want to spend much longer out in this miserable weather unless he had to. Hopefully, they would find naiad quickly, and be able to dupe them even quicker. The urgency they were going to give to their voices would likely help.
That was why, as he zoomed closer to the water, taking it like a glide rather than a rapid flapping, Nephi screamed, "Help! Someone! Anyone! Help!"

Genesis took flight as well, following after Nephi. She felt more confident now that they had a set plan and alibi established. As they came in sight of the lake, she sped up to make herself look urgent. The speed actually helped warm her up, so she was relieved for that. She echoed Nephi's calls, "Someone! Help!" She looked at the surface of the water, she looked at the shoreline. Dysmas was sitting at the edge of the water, skipping stones. It had been more difficult for him to go swimming with the temperature dropping like it had been. While the deeper warmers were warmer, the surface was almost icy. Dysmas, torn between the two worlds at to stick to the land for now until the water warmed up again. It frustrated him to no end.
When he heard the calls for help he looked up to the sky. "Over here, I can help!" He called out as he stood up and waved to the two in the sky.

Dysmas was not the only one who found themselves ashore.
Zuri, usually a river-dweller due to his link to the river dolphins, had become too cold to stay within the rivers. It was so cold out that there was patches of ice forming at the top of the waters, and while the naiad were naturally resistant to some level of cold, it was becoming uncomfortable for Zuri. He knew it would be warmer if he got to the lake.
Unfortunately, he was very much not used to walking on the land. Even when he hung out with his best friend on the land, Waikiki Kiki, he had always kept himself at least somewhat in the water, retaining the long tail that denoted him as a lake naiad. His walking was wobbly and uneven at best, Zuri keeping his arms out on both sides in an attempt not to fall flat on his face.
It appeared to be working, for the most part, until he heard the pleas for help from up above. Alarmed, Zuri's eyes flew up to look at the demon and the angel flying up above, screaming for help they couldn't find. He heard a second voice, beckoning them down, so he ran to join them--
Stumbling almost all the way.
Perfect! Nephi called a, "Oh, thank Guardians!" when he heard the response from Dysmas, lowering himself to the ground nearby where the ... winged ... naiad? was? Nephi blinked at Dysmas' appearance, for a moment, but attempted to wipe the surprise off his face as quickly as it had came. He hadn't expected to find some kind of part-angel naiad thing, but he decided not to question it.
So long as they had a cup, right? That was all that mattered. Don't let his appearance throw him off his game. "Sir, there's a naiad, in grave danger! We were looking for someone who might have something that could help!"
Zuri came to a stop nearby, panting. He shouted over, "In grave danger?!"
Nephi's face was nervous and panicky, but in his mind, he nearly cheered at the second voice.

Genesis breathed a sigh of relief as she heard someone respond as she flew closer to land in front of the individual who had flagged them down she became disappointed. An angel... but then as she got closer it became apparent that his wings were not feathered quite like hers, and he even had fins. What strange blasphemy was this? "Yes," Genesis agreed with Nephi, "Two naiad," she clarified as she saw the other... who was without a doubt a naiad... stumbling towards them. If this strange... creature... did not have a cup, then perhaps this true naiad would have a friend. She made herself sound breathless as if she had been flying for miles, "Stranded... in the forest..." she panted. "Trapped... by this weather... dehydrated." She continued to the two individuals. Genesis got straight to the point, they needed to be urgent to convince them, and not keep the two guessing. "We need... your cups... to save them." Dysmas tucked in his wings, conscious of his appearance, especially as the other naiad came running up. "In danger?" he echoed. He listened to the green angel's story, his face concerned. "Whatever I can do to..." he started. His own voice sounded urgent with worry. But what they needed... Dysmas had no mistrust of angels, despite declaring himself for the naiad, his mother was an angel. But giving up his cup? "My cup?"
The water angel was torn, if he lost his cup... what would the naiad think of him, would they think him disloyal or not a true naiad? But if he let another naiad die... that was just as bad. Dysmas looked over at the other naiad that had joined them, curious what he might do.

Zuri's only mistrust of angels came from the fact that his best friend, who was an angel, abandoned him when he could have needed her most...
It still stung.
He had no reason to mistrust the angels as a whole, nor did he mistrust their demon counterparts. They needed their cups, though? It seemed like a bad thing to do, hand these things over. Zuri could survive fine without his, reminded of such by the necklace that sat, heavy against his chest. As he fidgeted, he reached up to the necklace and grasped it to help comfort himself. It wasn't any trouble to give his up, but would his new companions be offended if he took such a step--
"You have to hurry!" declared Nephi, cutting through the nervousness that Zuri was beginning to feel. They were giving them too much to think. Instead of letting the silence continue, Nephi cut in, pushing them with urgency in hopes to overwhelm their confusion. "We can, we can get to them faster! They're far away. We're strong fliers!"
He had to admit, he did not account for a ... mutant blemish with wings when he had arrived, but perhaps the wings were heavy, for a naiad.
Zuri couldn't deny the fact that most anyone could get around on land faster than he can, out of breath and stumbling around like he had drunk a bit too much out of the vessels. The idea of offending his new family was strong in his mind, but he couldn't just let two naiad die. He had no reason to believe that the angel and the demon adolescents would be trying to pull the wool over his eyes, and if he could help save another naiad, well, that was important.
Hesitant still, Zuri slowly reached into his pouch to obtain his cup.
