Umeko's head drooped a little at Daenerys's statement. However she was not going to argue with her Khaleesi. The fire was getting a little warmer and more enjoyable to rest near. Her body was absorbing the warmth of the flames and also the warmth from Astucia and Daenerys. The younger mare sighed softly before letting herself relax. Although she was in pleasant company Umeko longed to be at her mother's side.
There was something harrowing about almost dying that made one appreciate family even more. Umeko hadn't been there when her mother needed her the most but perhaps that could change. She was just as much a part of the khalasar as Umeko was.
Umeko glanced back to the kalona behind her and Daenerys in front before giving a small sound of content before letting her eyes close. She was safe and would allow herself more time to rest.

Astúcia looked over at Daenerys as she spoke to him and shook his head lightly.
"No herd that I am a part of. I travel alone for the most part. Sometimes I travel with a few others from time to time, but not now. Coming back this way, when I heard you two, I didn't notice any Kalona either."
He looked down at Umeko thoughtfully.
"If you are worried about a group heading toward us, you should have no need to worry. You two are the only ones I have seen for a few days now."
Astúcia watched the smaller mare as she seemed to relax more. He was glad that she seemed comfortable around him. That meant it would be easier for her to get better. Stress was a bad thing to have when getting better.

Daenerys chuckled a little, starting to feel the weight of the accident lifting off of her. "You found me out, it seems. Our herd always wanders, so we have learned to be mindful of territorial locals." Her smile faded and she grew a little more serious. "Not everyone would have helped us." She thought of Viserys then, who for all his swagger had little in the way of courage or honor. What a different situation it might have been if a soquili of Viserys' heart had come across them instead.

Umeko could still hear Astucia and Daenerys talking. Even though she had nothing to contribute to the conversation it was always nice to keep a small idea on what was being said and who had said what. It was not like Umeko was concerned with all gossip but being here, sandwiched between two Soquili lending her their body warmth, she had no real option to not listen in.
Although she needed her rest Umeko could not help but resume gazing back towards the lake. How had it come to be that she had not recognized the danger that had lurked below her hooves. All of her lessons that she had learned before finding Daenerys and her mother again had seemingly fled from her mind. She had almost died and, if Daenerys had followed her out onto the ice, she could've put her Khaleesi at great risk too. Guilt swamped Umeko suddenly. What would the khalasar have done if they lost Daenerys?

Astúcia watched Umeko, seeing her restlessness. Thinking of what terrible things could be going through her mind. He wasn't sure if she would be able to rest completely as long as her mind wandered so much. Sadly there wasn't much he could do about her mind, though it didn't stop him from wishing she would settle.
"I would imagine that there are many herds and individuals that would not take kindly to another herd on their land. I've experienced that more than once."
He looked over at Daenerys thoughtfully. He wondered what other things could possibly be going through her own mind. Certainly the property situation is a load off of her mind, at least. What would their herd be thinking right now? What would their herd think if they didn't come back for a while longer? He certainly hoped that the herd didn't wander looking for the two lost mares. That would be a long journey to find the herd again.

There was a sense of loss to the cold that had swamped her body from her trip through the ice. Umeko gave a brief shiver remembering just how cold she had been after Astucia had managed to bring her safely to shore. The mare gazed around her before shaking herself more awake. Her muscles responded more quickly than they had before but she was cautious not to push herself.
Umeko let her gaze fall onto Daenerys and Astucia before attempting to stand under her own power. Her legs were a little wobbly but it looked like she was okay to move around a bit. The sky was growing darker as evening set in and although Umeko knew that traveling at night wasn't wise, she knew that it was better that they find the herd before too much time had passed. Umeko eyed the ice again as she shivered. Moving around would keep the cold from returning and Umeko began to pace back and forth in order to keep her muscles warm.~Twilight...Angel~ The time jump has occurred. (It's evening now) Roniel was going to post beforehand but passed on her turn to me. Post order will remain the same after. So, you'd go next and then Roniel.

Astúcia dozed lightly. He didn't want to fall asleep and leave the mares unguarded, so sleeping wasn't an option. He stirred as he felt Umeko rise from where she laying. Looking over at her, he watched as she paced back and forth.
"I'm happy to see that you are able to move well enough."
Astúcia smiled at the mare and rose from where he was laying, shaking himself to try and keep the cold from creeping up on him.
"Are you able to walk far enough to rejoin your herd?"
He posed the question lightly, considering that he was sure Daenerys would make the final decision on the three moving at all.

Daenerys blinked awake from her own little nap to the feeling of movement. She hadn't intended on falling asleep, but with her two companions dozing there had been little else for her to do. Her heart lightened when she saw Umeko standing, though she worried about what the herd might think after their longer than expected absence. At this point, one of them would need to go to the herd to make explanations if they couldn't all go there together.
"Are you well, Umeko?" asked Daenerys, echoing Astuccia's question. She stood up herself then, body moving jerkily after so long spent immobile. She winced as her dragons clung to her with sharp little claws. They obviously weren't ready to rouse themselves.

The evening was growing darker and Umeko was starting to wonder if she could make it back to the rest of the Khalasar. It was true that she was moving around more comfortably now but there was always the chance that once the cold air of night washed over her that it would cause a set back. However to wait around in the dark with only the scant light that Daenerys's dragons could provide was not really an appealing option either.
Mulling over the choices Umeko paced a little before turning her gaze to peer at Daenerys, "I am doing better it seems. It seems that if I keep moving that the cold doesn't bother me as much. Perhaps we should try to make it back?"
Umeko let her reply fade before she glanced to Astucia. It was strange that he'd risked his own skin to save her, "Thank you again for saving me."

Actucia looked over at the smaller mare. It was interesting to him that she seemed to thank him so much. He acted on what he knew was right and would do the same if he did it over again.
"It was my pleasure. I have no qualms taking care of others that need to be taken care of. I enjoy taking care of others."
He shook himself off again.
"So, shall I help you two along your way?"

"It seems like you're giving us a lot of help today," said Daenerys with a twinkle in her eye. "But I'm certain we both would appreciate just a little more." He would be good to have by their side if Umeko grew faint or needed help walking. "We are not far from the herd, if they have not strayed from where we left them." She was certain that there would be someone waiting there for them. They would not go far with their khaleesi missing.
"I suppose we must deal with that first," said Daenerys, eying the smoldering flames. As much as she enjoyed fire, she didn't like the idea of leaving it unattended. She began to kick snow over it, hearing hisses when the snow reached the heat. To her, the hisses almost sounded like her dragons. That was appropriate enough, she supposed.

Umeko listened to Astucia's explanation about why he had helped them. It was strange that a Kalona would have risked so much to follow her into the icy water to bring her back to safety. Perhaps Astucia was different from others of his breed. Umeko felt that she was alright to continue on to the Khalasar by herself. However it was nice to know that there would be someone looking out for her on the way there. At the sound of hissing Umeko craned her neck to watch Daenerys kick snow over the fire that her dragons had made. That was a prudent course of action. As the flames were extinguished Umeko gave herself a final mental check before nearing her leader.
She was ready to head back to what she was considering to be her new home. "I think I'm ready to leave now."

Astúcia watched as Daenerys put the fire out. It was always a good idea to put out fires your start. Either because you shouldn't allow the to have ideas about burning out of control, or if you are hiding from others. Though he imagined that the second one really didn't happen all that often to the two mares. Trouble didn't seem like it followed them closely, though he had been wrong about such things before.
"It will be an honor to escort such pretty mares back to the safety of their herd."
He smiled a bit at them, wanting to make them smile and laugh a bit. Them forgetting about what happened to Umeko this night would be best for them both. As he thought about bringing them back to their herd, he considered where it was he was going to travel to next. He shook the thought out of his head, knowing he had to be alert as they traveled. Unwanted visitors should be watched and listened for...

"Then, off we go." Daenerys led the way back to the herd, making sure to keep an eye out behind her for the progress of Umeko. She was glad that they had decided to go back then. They were not moving exceptionally swiftly and that added time to the journey. Adding a small note of urgency was the skies above them. The clouds hung heavy and low, looking like they might start dropping more snow at any moment. It would be best, Daenerys thought, if they could be safely returned before snow might arrive and obscure their path.
Before too long, the khalasar was in sight. It was now that Daenerys looked to Astúcia, the kalona that had done so much for them. "We have arrived now," she said. "There are others that can assist Umeko now, though you are welcome to join us if you wish." Wearied by the excitement of the day, Daenerys still managed a smile. "We have some spare meat if you are hungry. After all that you have done, we would certainly not turn you away." From the khalasar she heard raised voices. They noticed their arrival and soon she imagined they'd be surrounded by fellow herd members.

At times it seemed as if all Umeko could do was to stick one hoof in front of the other in a slow plodding motion as she followed Daenerys. She was aware of Astucia walking behind her and it was comforting to know that both of them were looking out for her. After her trip through the ice she was more than ready to be able to lie down and relax and resume her effort to warm up. The exercise from the trip home was helping a little bit but Umeko wished to stay warm for longer than a few minutes at a time.
As they reached the location where the Khalasar was located Umeko listened carefully to what Daenerys was telling Astucia before shaking off whatever lethargy that she could. There was a tinge of desperation in her movements as the scanned the members gathering around them. She wanted to hear only one voice in particular. Where was Mei Ren Ko? Where was her mother? Umeko detached herself from the group and started walking away. She needed to be reassured that things were going to be alright.
