Malfoy sneered. "And what, pray tell, can you do, Mudblood?"Apparently that was the wrong thing to say, however, because a moment later the entire Great Hall was flooded by what could only be described as an aura of pure terror, shortly followed by Phobius gripping Malfoy's shoulder with one surprisingly cold hand. "You know, Malfoy," Phobius mused coldly, "I could have sworn that we had a conversation concerning what comes out of your mouth back on the train." Malfoy immediately paled drastically, even whimpering a little. "Ah, good, you DO remember. Now, why don't you apologize to the three of them, and then we'll go our separate ways?"Whatever Phobius had done to intimidate the spoiled brat on the train ride over apparently worked, because Malfoy immediately began falling all over himself to apologize to Harry, Hermione, and Katherine.

Katherine rolled her eyes before flicking her wand. The boy was then silent and stiff as he walked back to his seat. She turned to Phobius with a smile, "Now let's sit back down. We are making a scene and he is watching closely." The witch flickered her eyes to Dumbledore to make her point. Hermione shyly smiled gratefully at Phobius and Katherine for handling the loud blond. Soon it was time to get on to their dorms. Katherine nodded to Hermione as they were split between their houses. Hermione following the other Gryffindors up to their house. Katherine looked to Harry, "Which house are you going to sleep in?" She asked.

"Good; I want the old coot to know not to try anything," Phobius muttered back coldly before turning to hear Harry's answer. Harry blinked. "Dunno... on the one hand, I don't know any of the boys in Gryffindor, and Phobius is in Slytherin, so I could bunk with him... but on the other hand, Malfoy's in Slytherin too, and I'm not sure I want my dorm room to be that easily accessible for him," he noted uncertainly. However, apparently that decision was going to have to wait, because Professor Snape drifted over to the trio. "Mr. Potter..." he paused, giving Harry a puzzled look as if unsure what to make of him, before continuing, "the Headmaster wishes to see you in his office concerning your... Sorting situation." 'In other words, he's annoyed that his little pet project isn't pure Gryffindor and wants to know what went wrong.' "I'll accompany him; there are certain facts I need to tell Dumbledore anyway," Phobius offered. At Snape's raise of an eyebrow, he elaborated, his voice lowering slightly. "If I recall correctly, children who are not entirely human need to let the Headmaster know of their circumstances of birth." It was true, too, so Dumbledore couldn't reasonably object to the young man accompanying Harry. Snape's eyes widened ever so slightly, but he nevertheless nodded curtly. "Follow me; I'll show you the way." With that, he began leading the two boys to Dumbledore's office, Harry saying a quick "See you later, Kat," before following Snape and Phobius.

Katherine blushed when Harry called her Kat. "Be careful you two. See you tomorrow morning. And Phobius? We got to talk." She said seriously. She felt that she could talk to him about the more darker things that she has seen so far and hopefully go through them with him to protect her new friends. The witch turned and walked to the dungeons. She got her own room on the fact that Slytherin girls don't trust each other. Katherine sorted out her books on the bookcase before thinking over the friends she made. Smiling, Katherine fell to her bed happy. Before she went to sleep though she laced her door with minor protection charms she knew. Then to the curtains around her bed. The witch promised to look up more powerful ones later. Hermione settled down in to her bed ignoring the squeals and talking of the other girls in the shared room. She went off to sleeping thinking about Phobius.

The two boys followed Professor Snape until they came upon a gargoyle guarding a staircase; a quick mutter from the Professor caused the gargoyle to spring aside, and Snape turned to the two boys. "Go ahead inside." Harry and Phobius nodded, Harry murmuring a quick thanks to the professor before they entered the Headmaster's office. Professor Snape couldn't see what was going on, but several minutes later, the Headmaster and the two boys came back out, the Headmaster looking rather pale and glancing over at Phobius every so often, Phobius looking rather amused at Dumbledore's obvious fear, and Harry glancing between the two in bafflement. Dumbledore cleared his throat. "Severus, would you mind escorting Mr. Potter and... Mr. Black..." he faltered slightly, obviously unnerved by the boy, before continuing, "to their dormitory in the Slytherin common room?" Snape nodded, leading the two boys away. Once they were out of Dumbledore's earshot, he glanced over at Phobius and spoke. "Exactly what did you tell the Headmaster that made him that pale?" "Just my mother's name and the date of my conception; I let him draw his own conclusions from there." At Snape's puzzled expression, Phobius smirked and added, "Virgo Black and September 5th, 1979."Cue Snape paling drastically - an impressive feat, considering he was already a rather pale man. "...I see," he murmured after a moment before walking a little faster, causing Harry to send his friend a baffled look. Phobius just mouthed back "Some other time" before Snape let them into the Slytherin common room, the two boys heading to an empty dorm and getting settled in before falling asleep.

((IS HE SIRIUS'S SON?!)) The next morning, Katherine quickly dressed and picked up her bag. She left the dungeons to get to Gryffindor's door. She wanted to be sure to walk with Hermione. Though, it was early in the morning. 5 am to be exact. Hermione walked out of the portrait happily surprise seeing Katherine there. the two witches walked together talking. Katherine sat with hermione at Gryffindor table as they talked about their classes that were to start that day. Katherine wrinkled her nose when Hermione drank coffee as Hermione wrinkled her nose at her for drinking hot chocolate. Both girls laughed at each other for this. Hermione was looking forward to transfiguration while Katherine was looking forward to potions.

Don't be silly! ...Sirius is his uncle. 3nodding ) "I didn't know anyone besides me got up this early," Phobius noted calmly, getting a cup of coffee for himself, sitting next to the girls, and sipping his drink without even adding cream. "Even my mother doesn't get up as early as me."

And I might have Katherine have a little brother or sister that is also witch or wizard)) Hermione nodded to her fellow coffee drinker as Katherine made a face. "Yes well I get up so I can get in some more reading or look over what needs to be done for the day." Hermione explained. Katherine shrugged, "I figured it would be quiet and I could talk with Hermione. Besides, I do love being sure I got everything." Katherine said as her hot chocolate refilled itself with added affect of whipped cream. The witch then got a plate together for herself. "So Phobius, what class are you looking forward to?" Hermione asked as she buttered her toast. She liked to have a light breakfast. Katherine listened to the two as she ate. She smirked slightly thinking Hermione had a budding crush on the other boy. Her thoughts were interrupted as her familiar came in with a few letters. She smiled seeing one is from her parents and the other from her sibling. Her little brother was a year younger than her and was so excited to know that all the weird things that happened to the two of them was because of magic. Though alot of the weird things happened when he was bullied and with her protecting him. The letter from the parents was basic enjoyment of her liking her new school and to keep up good grades even though her parents probably wouldn't understand a single thing. Katherine got out some paper and started to make replies for them. Sorren helped himself to the plate she had for him. He looked at the two humans next to his witch, looking them over before dismissing them as ok for his witch. The owl ate happily as Katherine wrote couple paragraphs for each letter.

(WRONG! His father isn't human, I'll tell you that much. 3nodding And I have no objections.) Phobius shrugged. "Well, Potions seems interesting," he answered. "You?" Of course, it was at that point that a small black cat came over, purring happily as she hopped into Phobius's lap. Phobius smiled faintly, starting to pet the cat, actually looking a little creepy as he waited for Hermione's answer to his question.

((Then how the ******** is Sirius the uncle? He only had the one brother. Is it remus? How the hell is he a black? This is driving me insane! gonk )) Hermione told him that it was transfiguration before asking, "Is that your familiar? I wanted to get a familiar or at the very least a pet but my parents said not til second or third year." She pouted a little thinking about that. Katherine looked up from her letters and gave them to her owl. She looked to Phobius, "And if you don't mind me asking, where is Harry?" She asked trying to not let the worry enter her voice. She sipped her hot chocolate.

(Or you could be forgetting the most obvious possibility: that his mom's an OC younger sister. 3nodding ) Phobius nodded in reply to Hermione's question. "Yes; Hermione, meet Confusa. Confusa, this is Hermione." He then turned to Katherine. "And don't worry, Harry's fine - he's just asleep like the rest of the House." He then paused slightly. "...On second thought, make that was asleep.""So this is where you went?" Harry asked Phobius as he joined the group; he still seemed a little bleary-eyed, however, unlike the others. "Yes," Phobius confirmed calmly, taking another sip of his coffee before handing Harry a coffee cup of his own. Confusa, meanwhile, hopped up on the table and padded over to Hermione, examining her curiously before hopping into her lap and firmly nudging the bookworm's free hand with her head, obviously wanting Hermione to pet her.

((God damn T^T)) Katherine stood up, "Oh no you don't. You are not going to corrupt him with that evil drink. Here Harry. Try this." She said pouring him some hot chocolate. She looked amused at his hair. "Is that bed hair or is that how it naturally is?" Katherine asked patting his hair a little. Hermione cooed at the small black cat as she started to pet her. "It's nice to meet you, Confusa." She said before looking up to Phobius, "She is really a sweet cat. How did you come up with her name?" She asked curious

(Yep! ...Still going to need to figure out what the dad is on your own, though I might have Phobius give a hint or two if you ask nicely. Heck, even his name is a bit of a hint about what his dad was. twisted ) "It's like that naturally," Harry admitted ruefully, taking a sip of the hot chocolate. Phobius shrugged, watching as Confusa purred happily. "Well, frankly, she was a little hellion as a kitten, and she still has a tendency to make situations fall into chaos without even trying. Add in the fact that I got bored once and learned Greek and Latin, and naming her Latin for 'chaos' seemed to be the right thing to do."

Hermione put down her cup before saying, "That is an interesting way to go about it. But you have to admit, your life has to be exciting with her as a pet. Anyways, you know Greek and Latin? I only know Latin and French."

(I love me too! mrgreen ) "Well, I did read some of the DADA and Care of Magical Creatures textbooks," Harry admitted. "I have to admit, DADA certainly seems interesting... dunno how good the class is going to be, though, considering what Professor Quirrell's like." True, he'd only met the man for a few moments, but if the first impression was any indication, he wasn't going to get his hopes up concerning the class. Phobius shrugged. "Que puis-je dire? Mon nom dérive du grec, et il m'a fait curieux. Comme pour le latin... bien, je m'ennuyais," he answered with a perfectly straight face. Confusa, meanwhile, rolled onto her back, obviously wanting Hermione to pet her belly.
