Jack looked at the pokeball for a moment longer before hitting the button to open it. A red beam of light flashed out of it and formed into a shape, as the light faded a large purple snake with yellow markings solidified. "Ekaansssss" "Ah!" Jack cried in surprised, he head heard of Ekans before but he had never expected the pokemon to be quite so large, despite being curled it it appears that stretched out it would be longer than he was tall.

The snake flicked its tongue out tasting the air as it over looked its trainer, there was a pause before the ekans decided that the boy would do and slithered over to him. He wouldn't have to worry about accidentally stepping on at least jack thought, and it seemed to be friendly he watched as it slowly slithered its way over to him, he went to put his hand out like he had with Xanders eevee. But the large snake decided instead to slid its head up his leg and then coil its body around him as it moved up. Jack would have tried to shake the pokemon off but he couldn't seem to move.

Viper shifted and coiled her way up her trainer, being careful not to knock him off balance until her neck was stretched across his with her head resting on his left shoulder and her back handing down his right side until she coiled it around his stomach. He was warm and she was a very happy snake. Viper flicked her tongue out and touched her trainers ear with it.

Jack nearly jumped as the snake's tongue touched him but he relaxed after a moment when it seemed to be just relaxing and not trying to strangle him or anything like that. He moved his left arm up to pet her scaly but surprisingly smooth skin.

Viper hissed with pleasure as jack petted her head. The boy seemed like a bit of and odd duck, he had seemed scared of her, who was scared of their own pokemon? But he would do and he was hers so the snake coiled around him tighter before relaxing again in a snaky hug.

Jack continued to pet the snake a smile slowly forming on his face. He had a pokemon, he actually had a pokemon. The Ekans was pretty and he tensed for a moment before relaxing when he realized it was just a hug from her. He stroked her head some more before taking a few tentative steps trying to get used to the weight of the snake pokemon. Once he was stead he went over to the duffel bag bad went to zip it up when he found a scrap of paper that said 'Viper' on it, flipping the scrap over it said. "Rename at will" Blinking he turned his head as best he could to face his shoulder snake and said "Viper?" In a questioning voice. He was greeted with pleased hiss and a rattle from her tail. which Jack took took as a yes, so his new friend was named Viper.

Jack nodded, he'd have to look up the attacks an ekans have and what the rules for battles where. He hoped there was a book on it. "Thanks" Jack replied as Xander picked up his bag, he wasn't sure he would have been able to carry it with the snake coiled around him. He supposed it was amusing to be tangled up by an ekans.

Viper was enjoying the warmth she was picking up from Jack and was in no mood to move or be moved and continued to hang out on him. She flicked her tongue in his ear. He should start walking all ready.

Jack nodded and continued to follow Xander, his hand on the rail as they went down the stairs trying to steady himself so that he didn't fall down with the weight of his new Ekans as he tried to climb down the stair well.

Jack continued slowly down the stairs trying to keep steady he hoped that he wouldn't fall and knock Xander down too. That would be embarrassing. Luckily his slow and steady pace got him to the bottom without falling or fumbling.

"The one in the back" Jack responded pointing to his bed. Viper shifted and slid higher up so she could rest her chin on his head to see their new habitat. It was small, and they had to share it with a bunch of others which displeased the snake, she wanted more space and the lack of room meant she couldn't get a heat lamp.

Jack listened to Xander and tried to figure out which would be more useful to him. Learning how to get around the base would be good as well as learning to battle. Jack suspected he would need to do a lot of battling in his new life.

Hearing the word battle Viper coiled tighter around Jack letting out a delighted hiss while rattling her tail and showing off her fangs, although Jack couldn't see them since her head was over his at the moment.

From the sound of it and the way she was gripping him, Jack guessed that Viper wanted to battle and wouldn't take no for an answer. "Battle I guess." Jack responded to Xander.

Viper was pleased to have her her instructions followed and relaxed, loosening her grip on her trainer and sliding her head down so it was on his shoulder again.

Jack nodded and followed Xander as they headed off to the training room. He was starting to get used to the weight of the Ekans that was coiled around him and his steps started to get steadier.
