As long as he had a handle on things and kept up his last pattern of attacks, it wouldn't be long at all before the Titan fell. At least, he certainly hoped so. Fighting titans was tiring, and while had had resolved to fight as many as he could within the time frame he had left, he was sure his body would surely protest if it took as long as the last one. But he HAD managed to get some good hits, so surely, it wasn't long from now?

It occurred to him that he hasn't told Sherry yet about his predicament. She was already helping him enough with the patrols, and, well, if things didn't end up working out by the time 2 weeks was up...

... No, he couldn't think that. He had too much riding on this. Sherry... Chester...
He couldn't let them down.

It was hard to tell if the roar from the Titan was out of annoyance of being tethered, being poked by Jake, or just something it did from time to time so that it could hear its own voice. Either way, it was loud and distracting. Not so distracting Sherry took her eyes off of things, but still, she spent a moment being glad she wasn’t in front of the darn thing when it roared.

“Nice!” She yelled again, having seen Jake land another hit. “But watch it! I think it’s charging another! Down!” She was pointing again. They’d be fine, and make it through this alive, no trouble. She was hardly worried about it at this point, with as well as Jake was doing up there.

She would far more worried if she knew the whole story behind things, but that was not the case.

Was she pointing... down? All Jake knew by now was that when she was shouting and gesturing in some sort of direction meant to watch out for that particular area or that it was letting loose electricity. Anything else was either some sort of encouragement or was asking him if he was holding up alright.

While he appreciated the gear, and had to admit that it WAS rather advance and suitable for dealing with these things, he couldn't help but wonder if it was possible to install some sort of communication advice. Really, what with the stomping, sparking, and roars, he could barely hear anything else, and while Sherry's warnings did help MOST of the time, there was only so much he could keep an eye on.

And so, it wasn't too much surprise when his shield took another hit.
Pissed, Jake dislodged another spine.

At least they’d learned how to work together for this. Sherry thought they worked well together for most things, but… they were kind of starting from scratch so… this was good practice for their teamwork, she supposed. Though she would have been glad to have some other form of communication. Maybe the headsets were working again and the techs just hadn’t told them. She kind of hoped that was the case, because that would be nice.

She’d find out after this lumbering behemoth of a creature was a pile of armor on the ground. It had to be nearing that point by now, it seemed like they’d had it tethered for ages. Well, not as long as the last one had seemed to take yet, but getting there. Time was funny like that, seeming to take forever when it didn’t suit the person perceiving it.

“That’s it! Way to go!” Jake did seem to be handling himself alright though, shocked or not. “Looking good!”

If they kept this patten up, then maybe, just maybe, he could take down the Titan without having to even patch his shield up, and Sherry wouldn't have to worry. He had managed to slice off several spines and stab it a couple times, so surely it wasn't long before the infusers kicked in.

Time was indeed a funny thing, and though he had no idea how much time had passed, he had to admit it did feel a little shorter than last time. Of course, that was just his own speculation, and even now, it could go either way. The team seemed to have calmed down a bit, so he should take this to his advantage while he could.

It would be nice if they could take this thing down in the next few hits, before Sherry had to go digging for bandages. That was for sure. But they’d have to find out when they got there. It was entirely possible the beast would start thrashing around again or try to walk off in the other direction. Sherry had all the faith the anchor would hold and it wouldn’t get away, but there other things that could go wrong with that, too. Like Jake falling off and not getting his pack working again in time or something.

Sherry didn’t want to think about it.

Especially when she was still watching the remaining spines for charges. “Right! To the right!” She wasn’t too pleased to see the beast lean at the same time she saw the sparks. It better not be planning to move too much.

Spoke too soon.
He heard the crackling, but hadn't moved away quick enough. All he could do was wince as the shield was weakened again. So close... he was so close. Was he going to have to rely on bandages before he could finish it off?

Though it was hard to tell on top of the Titan, he couldn't help but feel as if it's movement was getting more sluggish. Was it just wishful thinking? He really hoped not, but it never hurt to be prepared, just in case.

Just a little bit more.
He wasn't sure why he was talking to himself mentally, but it helped sooth his nerves; he supposed.

Sherry winced, too. She saw that current jump. “You okay?!” It was the all important question here. No matter what his answer would be, Sherry was already digging into her med kit, just in case. She had to stay on top of these things, after all. Even if Jake seemed to not like asking for help.

“Let me know how that shield level is!” Even if the beast was getting sluggish, even if it was sparking less, they weren’t done yet. “And hang on, it looks like it’s starting to lean to the side a bit!” Hopefully that meant it was weakening, and not about to thrash.

As a bit of an afterthought Sherry edged back towards the anchor. She had to be ready to run when the time came.

... Leaning?
Oh crap, it wasn't going to keel over, was it? While it was good that the Titan was weakening, if it suddenly fell over, there was no doubt it's weight would probably pull the anchor clean out of the ground, and also, with him on top...

He wasn't even sure if his harness would protect from a drastic change in altitude and even with harness secured, there was still the chance of it coming loose from the force of the fall, and if it didn't, the whiplash would probably cause some pain, if not break a few bones. Crap crap crap.

"I'm fine! The shield can take a few more hits, and the Titan is almost down anyways. You should probably keep your distance!"

Sherry also hoped the beast wasn’t planning on leaning too far over. Bad things would happen, she was sure. She’d rather not find out exactly what those were. It was bad enough things exploded in the end.

The bandages in her hand were given a bit of a squeeze as Sherry gave Jake a look tinted with skepticism. No, no, he’d just promised to keep her updated and ask for help. If he said he could handle a bit more, then he could. She’d wait. He hadn’t even pulled out his own bandages yet. And the beast was certainly slowing down, even if it still looked like it was trying to sway. (Sherry hoped that’s what it was doing.)

“Okay!” Sherry said. She also, pointedly, did not move any farther from the beast. It was quite time to run yet.

Swaying was just as bad, though he supposed it was a good thing he didn't have motion sickness, or anything of the sort. It was bad enough trying to keep balance and not fall into one of its back spines, but to trying attacking it too was proving a bit of a challenge. He had some pretty well before, so why now?

... no, he couldn't let that get him down. It was just a bit more. He could do this.
Just... a bit... longer...

Sherry was watching Jake, and the Titan, and the rocking the beast seemed to be doing. At least it was visibly slow now, thank everything. That meant they were indeed getting close. Her gaze went back to the runic anchor. She at least hoped they were getting close.

Looking back to Jake she yelled again. “Almost there! Keep it up!” They were close, she could just feel it. Though she was a little worried about Jake not asking for any bandages yet. But he’d been hitting the Titan pretty fiercely, so there was a good change he wasn’t feeling the strain of the battle yet. A pretty good chance.

Hopefully after this they could grab a bit of food and some rest. She did of course know he’d want to hunt down more beasts, but he would want to take a break in between, wouldn’t he? Surely he would. Maybe had better come up with a plan just in case he didn’t.

Jake waved, and then pulled out his artifact, stabbing it into the exposed plates. A roar later and some stomping, he supposed the titan was starting to get grumpy as it was missing a few back spines and he assumed the equivalent of having toothpicks constantly jabbed at it.

"Ok, time to run!"

She almost didn't hear Jake over the roar of the Titan, but she didn't need to. Between the beasts attitude and Jake's actions it was pretty clear that the only thing they had left to do was run.

Well, grab the equipment and run.

So she did, quick as she could. Fancy runic equipment quickly released and gathered, Sherry took off. Like before, she made a point of glancing back to keep an eye on Jake, but kept running. Hoping to be at a safe distance when this ended wasn't enough. One had to make it happen.

She was fairly certain she had done just that.
