“ My theory is that for some reason, the planet was evacuated. Maybe it was attacked, and that’s why the ruined biodome is, well, ruined. Then looters came through and picked through what was left behind. I don’t know what happened to the Pomonians, why they didn’t come back, but it’s the only reasonable explanation I can think of.”
The sight of the huge Bjorn raising his hand was funny. Here he was, a tall guy by any Earth standard, in a kitchen that was clearly not designed for someone with his height in mind; he was brushing the ceiling. It was comical, and she couldn’t hide a grin.
“ You make this place look like it really was meant for hobbits or dwarves.” She shook her head in disbelief at his offer. “ That’s very generous of you. That’d be a lot of time and work, and I wouldn’t want to impose. But… if I could fix it up, that’d be nice. A way to honor their memory.”
