"It's kinda the thing that happens when a young girl who drops out of high school hooks up with a rebel gypsy who wants to escape the ranch life. They were just a couple of sixteen year olds with no care but for themselves. And there were less strings attached with dropping me on dear old granny than adoption or some s**t," Billy explained as he peppered his sandwich.

"They came back once they decided they wanted to play house like adults. It didn't really work out. My mother couldn't give up the drugs and her family disowned her. My father got himself stuck in a soul-draining office job and pretty much took care of things before just kind of mentally and emotionally checking out. Besnik is nothing but an empty shell of a man now, stuck on autopilot. And mother took that as her cue to turn the house in to her own personal business. ...I knew more about how drug dealing and prostitution works than any kid should of. That kinda happens when it's a two bedroom house, so mother-dearest tells you to go in the closet while she uses your bedroom for her business."

And in that probably laid the reason why he had such disgust with the woman form.

"One day I'll find somewhere that boards horses. Maybe buy a couple and teach you to ride. Then we can go trail riding and camp out, too."

Billy shrugged, "They'll serve a purpose to me soon enough."

Honestly Billy had a lot of rage towards them. It came out in short bursts of passive-aggressive comments, but soon enough the fire would do away with it all, and nothing but ash and a nice monetary profit for all his troubles would be left. The very thought was cathartic. Billy was lucky enough to have been born with the mental fortitude to overcome the lot he'd been given. Even if the result was that he acted like a giant a**.

"I can teach you to ride. Like riding a bike - once you know how, you never really forget. And there's nothing to be afraid of - you just have to let the horse know who's in charge, and not let it push you around. Honestly, I'm sure it's more scared of the weirdo on its back," he chuckled, then paused for a moment, considering neither of them were really that tall...

"Maybe I could get you a pony instead."

Small, less intimidating.... Now whether that was the pony or Ladon........ Well, Billy was sure if he said such musings out loud he'd at the very least get a kick to the shin.
