Once she'd introduced herself to Suri and Krishna--My name's Vanya--I'm not new, not really, I've been here for almost nine months now--she turned her attention to Porsha. "Some, ma'am," she said. It'd been really stunning to realize that Xenotime was younger than Vanya. But at the same time, Vanya wasn't that put out by it. Porsha had been learning to fight since she was small; Vanya's closest comparable experience had been taking ballet from the age of five to fourteen. "I'm trying," she said to Porsha, but--well, she didn't think it was going too well. Too quiet by half, she knew.
The shrill whistle from Ever really caught Vanya's attention; she jumped and almost grabbed onto Porsha's arm before remembering herself and tucking her hands between her calves and her thighs. She got up and took her card, as ordered, and then returned to the cushion she'd come from. Hopefully her expression hadn't given anything away, she thought--she'd never been a very good poker player...
Vanya put her forehead on her knees and waited for 'night' to end.

"Alright then. Heads up everyone -- and I have good news."
Ever looked entirely too pleased with himself when they lifted their heads, bright eyed and overly excited by something so dumb as a game played by children at camp. It was the look of an extrovert surrounded by people, feeding on the energy of a room, even if it was a quiet sort of energy --
"This one night only, you've been given a pass. The majority of your wolves decided to hold off a night, to see which of you will be the best targets, which the rabble rousers, which -- well. Which need to be offed immediately and which can hold out a bit longer..."
He tapped his card against his knee and cleared his throat.
"So no one is dead. Yet. But tonight, they will certainly take a victim, and I suggest that you kill one of them before they kill you. Who will it be?"
In this first round, there was little for them to go on. But there had been some sounds in the night. Had they heard a neighbor lift her head as Ever moved around? Had someone made a questioning little sound? Had someone felt a neighbor shift, almost imperceptibly?
Maybe it was all in their head -- but what else did they have to go on?

OOC NOTE:
It's lynching time!
Some number of wolves decided not to kill anyone off in the first round, which means you got a pass -- this time. In the future, this isn't an option. From now on, people will die.
For the next 48 hours, you should discuss in character who you think might be a wolf, who should be lynched, etc. If you want to say you think you felt someone move in the night -- go for it. If you want to go based on your knowledge of people in character -- go for that. If you want to lynch your BFF because it's hilarious -- also solid grounding.
I only have one request: Keep your posts brief. If possible, stick to 3-4 sentences max. Make it easy for people to read and keep the play going! You can post a bunch of times or you can post once, and that's up to you.
By 48 hours from this post, however, you should post in red bold font who your character is voting to be lynched. I'll post a reminder at the halfway mark!
As always, if anyone's confused, just shoot me a PM/IM. I'm around a lot. XP

Krishna frowned as he looked at the other people around him. Eventually, with no better clue to go on, he picked out an easy target, one that had already offended him. He motioned towards the glasses thief and spoke simply, "Her."

'Oh, good! Still alive... beat still my beating heart!' Richard thought with a rather snide smirk as he straightened up as best as he could given his 'condition'. It was no surprise when Krishna made his decision, and it didn't take long for Richard to make his own.
He, too, pointed at Porsha, before adding. "Not sure I can disagree. Looks shady to me!"
Perhaps the sudden burst of enthusiasm shouldn't have surprised Ever, in a room full of negaverse officers, but -- still. He blinked, bemused for a moment, before offering a grin.
"But why? Just because you don't like her face?"

"I didn't hear anything," said Vanya, looking uncertainly at Porsha. Surely not. "I don't think Ever even came over here."

Richard gave Ever a look, and a little bit of his old tendencies shown through as he flashed Porsha a wink.
"Hm, I find her body to be more appealing than her face, if you know what I mean. On the streets and under the sheets, she's an animal."
He glanced at Vanya and shrugged. "Or maybe I should switch my vote to you, if you're hearing so well. Like that of a wolf?"

Oh, gross.
Chin lifting, Avery's gaze flicked from Vanya to the two men too old to be taunting young women. Krishna, then Richard. "Excuse me," She interrupted.
"Shady? I hardly think you're one to point a finger. Look at you, ganging up on that girl with your pack mate over there. How bloodthirsty."
Avery took a small sip from her cup, before indicating one of them. Really, it could have been either, in her mind, but, "My vote is for you." Richard Moreau.
So many unfamiliar faces. So many of them didn't even have names! Vanya, Zac, Avery, Ever, Suri, Layne. Ever couldn't possibly be a wolf because he was running the game; you could hear those boots of his clomping around the room as he made sure everyone was playing the game properly. Had someone moved? There was some kind of Seer thing right?
Damn, she needed to remember to cheat more.
The bluenette had intended to choose someone at random, an unfamiliar face so that maybe she could learn something about them. Inspire them to get into the game. Instead, she pointed at Richard. "You're acting like an animal. Are you sure it's daytime?"

She really wanted to ask Porsha if there was something she was missing, because the red-headed man was being... extremely rude. The problem with voting was that she really hadn't heard anything incriminating at all. "I'm not a wolf," she said, "but maybe you are. Why would you be so hasty to spread the blame if you weren't?"

“I’ll be the first to admit I’d have a different vote for who did and did not qualify as ‘wolves’ for in this game and out of it. But really…” Zac leaned back on his hands flicking his gaze around the group thoughtful.
“But I’m going to break the chain here…. Sorry Krishna, you offered no reason behind your vote for Porsha, but maybe that’s because you have other reasons to want her taken down.”

Ma'am? It was unexpected, and Porsha blinked at the other woman before a rather smug grin slid over painted lips. She could definitely get used to that.
The cards were passed out, the game began, and when Porsha lifted her head everyone was still alive. It was amusing, though the teen wasn't sure why, and that amusement only grew when young man who was sitting on Vanya's other side--the one that had been glaring in her direction--nominated her to be lynched. It was echoed by Richard, and she lofted a brow in his direction before Vanya came to her defense.
"I'm with Zac, I think there's something shady about, what was it, Krishna?" She leaned around Vanya, grinning at the man in question.

Boaz supposed that he could be glad that no one was dead by the end of the first round though that in itself was quickly turning into a very acute problem with the accusations flying around. It was a good opportunity to sit back and observe for a bit so he did exactly that, matching its name with its associated face from his spot as he remained on the sideline for now.

Suri was quiet at first, watching the cliques form, the alliances take place. She listened to the arguments made on behalf of the differing factions, and when she felt appropriate, she nodded her head towards Krishna.
"You're awfully quick to throw out accusations, don't you think?" After her question, she smiled coyly, trying to draw out his reaction. "Why so on the offensive?"
Gabriel had started drinking that beer Laine had given him as subtly as he could. There was something nice about liquid courage in alcohol form, and it was actually giving him the courage to speak up.
He wasn't drunk, not really, not off one beer, so he could focus well enough. He eyed the man who had first spoken up, who had thrown someone else under the bus. "You know, I'm with them. I think you ought to go." He said, gesturing at Krishna.
