A small concern for the stability of their balloon wormed around in the back of Cai's mind. He didn't trust the shady captain, his pokemon, or the creepy old man from earlier. Especially with how cramped these were. He shrugged at Anise. "It's not like we could have asked everyone their occupation before picking a balloon. We were under attack after all. If someone else was in trouble I'm sure they'd be asking around for anyone to help."
Corbin caused a raised eyebrow but no comment. Hell was by far not the worst word Cai had heard or used in his lifetime. It was so in-offensive to him at least that he was surprised someone even apologized for it.
To Lex, Cai shook his head, declining the food. "I grabbed a couple slices of bread and some cheese. I'll save it for later."

"Thanks a bunch!" Genesis said, smiling wide. "Name's Eliza, by the way!"
She unwrapped and bit into the bagel when Corbin spoke, shaking her head in the negative.
"I'm just a traveler," she said between bites. "So I only know the basics that everyone usually picks up."
Ajax shook his head when Aaron scampered off, but in all honesty he was no better himself. He didn't run away, but he didn't say anything, either; merely looked at the two with impassive eyes.

"It's nothing," Lex waved off the thanks and paused shifting as he caught a sight of black.. had that been a Murkrow? They did not need a murder of crow pokemon after the flock of insane pidgey trying out for the cast of The Birds 2.
If Cottonee's could pout, Hollin managed to. He wilted, giving a sad note before perking up when the Riolu was popped back beside him... and the hat. The Cottonee stared at the blue hat for a bit before attempting to clamber into it.
"I am more of a groomer... so there is a bit of knowledge but mostly cosmetic." Lex shrugged and decided to forget the possible Murkrow. And Hollin was attempting to crawl into that Riolu's hat. Cute.

Though Anja wasn't that big a Pokemon, Sabre returned her to her poke ball anyway, just so she could have a rest from the previous chaos. But his attention was diverted to the sound of something tearing, like cloth, coming from above. Eyes snapping right to the source, he stared at the small tear that began to inch its way across the fabric of the balloon that kept them afloat. That couldn't be good...

Cai touched the bandage on hs forehead, tugging loose a couple stands of hair. He hated having his hair loose but the pidgeys had torn his tie free. He might have another but he didn't want to empty his entire pack jst to find it.
"I wish more travelers would learn the basics but then I might be out of a job."

Ah yes, the old trick. Genesis followed Sabre's line of sight, looking up without really thinking about it. At first she thought she'd been fooled. Then, "...Do you guys hear that?"
Ajax only stared as the Cottonee tried to get inside the hat. Then, he chuckled, the sound short and sudden but there all the same.
"There's room for you both."
((Fuuuuu-- 4/6 tears so far. xD))

"Ah well not that many actual healers but it seems we all know the basics." Corbin commented. He felt the balloon drop slightly and looked at everyone else. "Hear that? More like feel that. We don't seem to be quite as high as before." He said. Corbin looked around for the captain as he wanted to see if there was anything they could do about the rips that were appearing. Instead when the captain flew by he spouted something about the landscape and flew off before Corbin could get a word in.
Aaron froze when Hollin began trying to climb into his hat. Then he was in action trying to keep him out. "No stop!" He cried doing his best to get Hollin out of his hat and not hurt the other pokemon or damage the hat, "Leave my hat alone!"

"But it is huge, and looks comfortable and I want to curl inside of itttt," Hollin chirped, actively trying to disappear into the large brim witch like hat. He churred and peered down, "He gets ittt, we can both cuddle in it."
Lex glanced up and frowned, "That did seem to be a bit of a drop..."

Genesis nodded; they did seem to be going lower. Again she looked to the area Sabre was watching, and this time noticed a growing hole. It didn't look to be the only one, either.
"Did... did something puncture our balloon?" she asked, pointing and remembering the Murkrow that had whizzed past earlier.

Corbin nodded at Lex and then shook his head at Eliza. "I don't know. I haven't seen anything but then again I haven't really been looking up. For all we know the balloon had holes in it before we took off." He said looking at where Eliza was pointing.
"But you'll break it!" Aaron cried. He reached up and practically tore the hat off his head, leaving Hollin to sit on his head. He then turned to Corbin and waved his hat at him crying out.
Hearing the familiar cry of Aaron, Corbin looked down to see him waving his hat at him. "Huh... what's up with your hat kid?" He asked before noticing the Cottenee on his head, "Oh. You really could share. It is big enough......" He sighed when the hat was waved more violently. "Fine fine. I'll wear it then." He grabbed the hat and put it on his head. The wind tried to catch it but it fit snug on Corbin head and wouldn't blow off.

Lex glanced over at Eliza. “Did you see the dark bird Pokémon as well?” He asked not naming the Murkrow. It wouldn’t do to send everyone into a panic. “Of course, we are in balloons crafted by the same person that crash an airship into a flock of Pidgeys.” He snarked slightly and turned over, looking at his Cottonee. “You are such a dork, Hollin. Leave the poor thing alone.”
Hollin pouted, staring up at Corbin and gave the human his best wibble face. His leaves dropped, and his eyes went big and he made little quivery motions. Pleeeeassss can I wear the hat? Pleaseee?

"I did," Genesis replied, though a quick survey showed it was nowhere she could see. They both had a point -- what else could be expected of the self-proclaimed captain? The situation would've been hilarious if they weren't in the balloon themselves, but at least the descent was slow enough it'd been almost imperceptible until now.

Anise glanced up at the balloon, trying to spot the rip everyone was talking about. "I'm starting to wish I'd brought my Altaria instead. A large flying pokemon might be useful about now. But Oki wouldn't let me go without him, considering the strangeness surrounding this trip and it's unexpected invitation."
(Edit: *facepalm*)
As she scanned the fabric there was a sudden, particularly loud ripping sound, and then the large hole could be clearly seen. "That doesn't look good," she nervously stated the obvious.

The hot-air balloon started to descend. The fire pokemon on board started panicking when their efforts to inflate the balloon came to no avail. Their clamoring brought the attention of the Captain's flying crew, who where resting on tops of the balloons or flying about.
The balloon picked up momentum. It was difficult to stay in the falling basket without holding onto something. There was chaos in the basket-- people screaming, pokemon panicking, luggage and loose items flying about. You could see the flying pokemon coming towards the balloon. You wished they could hurry up.
Then, to your dismay, you were floating, lifted up from the basket and drifting away from the balloon. You realized that you were being held by a flying pokemon and calmed down. Hope everyone else was safe as well.
The flying pokemon brought you, your friends, your belongings, and your pokemon down to the ground. You were never so happy to see solid ground.
(( You can RP any flying pokemon carrying you in whichever way you'd like. ))
