Anastasia looked up to Vincent and gasped as she was easily taken down. Being so small and light had made it easy for Vincent. She struggled beneath him and turned bright red. Despite wanting to spar and learn from him she never thought how humiliating it felt to be taken down so easily and pinned, unable to move. She looked to him her face bright red. F-fine! Fine! Just get off of me! she squealed kicking her feet. When he released her she narrowed her eyes his way, Again! she said wanting another demonstration. More so because she wanted to take him down herself.
Although she knew it was impossible, she was easily taken down a second time, her face flushing bright red. A-again! she said loudly trying a third time and again she was taken down.
She turned away from him rubbing the tears away from her eyes and clenched her teeth. It was humiliating and her pride was injured. Tears of frustration pooled and she quickly dismissed them, rubbing her eyes furiously. A-alright, I'll give it a try now. she said looking back to him.

Exodus nodded, taking his stance again, but lowering his arms a bit in preparation. "You have to be here, otherwise the fight doesn't begin. Your only real goal is to throw me off and hold down my abdomen. Even if you don't weigh much, a human body is more than enough to hold another one done if you're positioned correctly." Exodus' eyes narrowed again as he studied Ana before blasting off from his spot. He was not a forgiving teacher, but if he felt that he was actually going to strike Anastasia when she couldn't defend against it he'd stop. "SHA!"
Exodus shouted as he threw his all in to a powerful kick sweeping from the ground all the way up to the side of Ana's head. Once more, he'd stop if she didn't show she was going to stop him, but he gave her the perfect chance by purposely using only a single leg to keep himself balanced. It was more of a show on how to take down somebody who'd rather kick you than punch you, as such, this one might be easier for her to master. "Come on, do it! The path is traced for you...just take advantage of it! Don't back out!"

Taking a moment to catch her breath she looked up to Vincent and nodded her head ready for the next attack. As he swung his feet Anastasia quickly reacted by holding his leg and clumsily pulled on it hard making the man fall over. She quickly lunged for him and pinned down his abdomen. However, she was pretty tired at this point and wasn't really able to hold him down well enough despite that, he didn't move. Beaming at her victory she smiled brightly, her innocent smile brightening her eye. I did it! she said breathlessly. Smiling down to him she suddenly realized her position and jumped off of him. W-well...I think that's enough for tonight. I still have things to do. she said heading for the door.
I-I'll see you tomorrow. she said before heading to her room. There she began cooling down after the tedious work out and tried practicing her forms on her own, sparring with an imaginary partner for further practice.

Exodus rolled up from his back in to a handstand before standing straight up. "You're not bad...a bit of refinement and you'll be a professional." As they parted ways for the night, Exodus crossed his arms behind his head with a smirk painting his face. What an interesting turn of events...and what an interesting girl. Exodus felt like he could calm down around her...maybe even let his guard down just a bit. But only a little bit.

"Ezra, come!" Exodus shouted, watching the black horse come to his call. Exodus whistled to show the horse his position, and as it came next to him, Exodus rubbed the side of its neck, allowing Ezra to realize who it was talking to first off. "You know my voice by now, then...? I wonder how close I am to my goal now." Exodus looked like a little kid, smiling like he just achieved some non-trivial feat. He had yet to ride Ezra, as he was unsure how he'd fare when it came down to it...he trusted Anastasia would know well enough what he should do if he were to start failing, however.

Anastasia spent the next hour practicing what Vincent had taught her before going to bed. The next morning she headed towards the stables to meet with Vincent. Today she was going to feed and groom her horse, Luna. She noticed Vincent in the distance among the other soldiers and noticed how the bond between him and his horse had grown. Smiling she pulled Luna's reigns over his way and called out to him. And how are things peasant? she asked as Luna sniffed around Ezra's handsome face.
He seems a lot more comfortable this time around. However he still doesn't see you as an equal. I think at this point you're more of a servant to him. she said and smirked. It's befitting for someone like you. she said and got on her horse. Let's circle around the area for a bit, you'll just have to walk beside Ezra for now. she said sending Luna ahead and looked back expecting Vincent to follow. She tried very hard not to blush, still embarrassed about the night before.

Exodus frowned, but he was more than aware of that fact. "Of course he sees me as a servant...all I've been doing is grooming and feeding him. And I have a name, you know. It's Exi--Vincent." Exodus scratched the back of his head, noticing just now that the entire time she either called him peasant, peon, or Vincent he didn't bother to correct her. "That's all, Teacher? Alright then..." Exodus followed Anastasia, taking note of the fact that she seemed a bit more quiet after their sparring session the previous night.
Exodus crossed one arm behind his head while leading Ezra, the proud horse held itself in high regard as far as Exodus could tell...this might take some work. "How're you feeling? You're not sore or anything, are you?" Exodus asked, almost mumbling since he didn't want to seem too concerned. He was still thinking that Anastasia would rather not associate with him in public, so when he spoke, it was in short and quick sentences that got his meaning across quickly.

Ana looked down to him and smirked, Peasant suits you fine for now. she said arrogantly and continued riding her horse. As he asked how her body was she turned bright red. I-is that really how you're going to ask me? she asked kicking his shoulder knocking him down. P-people will misunderstand when you say it like that you stupid! she squeaked her face bright red and her voice cracking. She stiffened her lip and sent her horse trotting faster to get as far away from him as possible.
She was suddenly mindful of the people around. None were really paying attention but she couldn't be caught being around someone like him, considering her own status. She blushed however looking back to Vincent wondering if he was alright.
Hur-hurry up already! I'm not here to wait on you all day! Move it! she barked waiting for him and trying to lose the color on her face by thinking of chemical equations.

Exodus shrugged, not expecting to be knocked over and falling flat on the ground when he was. Oh, what a joy to be around Anastasia, she even had the nerve to ride away after knocking him to the ground. He got up and dusted himself off, continuing his walk and shaking his head as he caught up with Ana. "Sheesh...I was just worried about you. No need to strike me." Exodus was sour about it, but he, at the very least, didn't act like he did when they first met.
Exodus looked up at Anastasia and shook his head, a small smile crossing his face. He didn't know what it was about somebody like her, but she looked better that way. A smile, a laugh, or even a blush...they made Anastasia look real, but he wasn't going to say anything like that out loud. "Let's keep moving then...no need to get caught up because I 'tripped' is there?" Exodus seemed extraordinarily calm given what just happened too.

Anastasia pouted her soft lips looking back to him before huffing and continued riding her horse. After a while she stopped getting off and approached Vincent. Alright then, I want to see if he will respond to your call. I'm going to take Ezra off somewhere. Call for him and depending on his response I can figure out how long it will take before you can try riding him again. she said.
She took Ezra's reins and climbed on the horses back. There was some fuss before she pulled on the reins, not falling or moving from the saddle. He managed to calm down a little before she rode Ezra off somewhere. She waited somewhere close enough to hear Vincent and waited.
She thought about the time she was spending with Vincent. It was nice, and he was surprisingly pleasant company. When he isn't being completely brainless. She was glad how easily the two were able to talk, even though they haven't talked of much but training each other. She wanted to know more about him, but she was afraid he might think it none of her business. She didn't want to ger her hopes up for no reason. Who would want a friend who kicked them down? Well...he wasn't angry e-either... she mumbled to herself, shyly fussing with her eye patch. Besides, who would want a woman who only had one functional eye?

"I doubt he'll go easily. He seems to enjoy challenging his will against mine." Ezra may not have been bred as such, but he was a wild one...Exodus didn't think they understood human concepts, but Ezra knew well enough where he stood on all matters. It was impressive, for a horse. Exodus waved as Anastasia left on her own with the rowdy beast. After a moment of silent contemplation, Exodus looked up and sighed...time to begin.
Exodus whistled, but Ezra didn't respond at all to the summons. Perhaps he didn't hear it...or maybe he mistaked it for somebody else's call? Exodus never whistled to bring Ezra to him, so he doubted it was going to work this time. Maybe it was silly, but he addressed Ezra by name to show they were standing on equal ground...he'd just have to do what he normally did if he was going to call to his horse.
"Ezra!" Exodus shouted, getting a minor response out of the horse. Ezra seemed to be trained on his voice, but didn't approach at all. Exodus crossed his arms, giving it a little while to see if Ezra approached, but it didn't seem like it was going to work for him like that. He just had to keep trying to see if he could actually summon the beast to him. Still, at least it responded to Vincent's call...that had to mean something.
One more time to be sure that Ezra heard him correctly. "Erza! Here!" That got a response. Ezra heard him, and moved towards him, but it didn't seem as though Ezra considered it urgent, despite his fast response. Exodus assumed it was still because he found Exodus to be used instead of seeing him as a partner. Exodus blushed and crossed his arms behind his head, averting his gaze so he didn't catch Ana's eye. D-don't mock me...I tried." Exodus closed his eyes, wanting to throw a pillow over his head...it took three tries to get Ezra to respond to him, and that was nowhere near good enough.
"Forget it...laugh all you want." Exodus didn't know what he was doing wrong here...how was he supposed to foster a stronger bond with such a stubborn beast? In hindsight, Exodus ended up defeating himself already when Anastasia had said nothing about his progress. It was because it lacked the perfection he was used to...he should've been able to call Ezra with no problems, and he did so...but only just so. Anastasia waited beside Ezra looking to Vincent. It was clear he was struggling, she glanced towards the horse wondering why the horse was not responsive to Valentine. Anastasia looked to Valentine as his efforts didn't work the way they wanted. She brought Ezra towards Vincent and looked to him. That was a pretty good effort. But I think Ezra is acting a bit spoiled. she said. He's a pretty young one, so he's just acting rebellious. she decided and went to her horse pulling out some rope.
She snapped it before tying it around Ezra's neck. She then tied it to Luna's neck and placed her hands on her hips. From now on, we'll be doing it all together. Grooming, brushing, bathing, feeding. she decided. We'll ride together and we are not to separate them until Ezra behaves. she said.
Luna is an older mare, so she is going to be able to simmer Ezra's attitude. Until then we're going to keep up your training. she said and then smiled. For a peon, you did pretty well considering the circumstances. At least he registers your voice. she said.

Exodus raised a single brow, unsure how this was going to help, but he trusted Anastasia judgement since she obviously knew more than he did. "Hmph..." Exodus' response was quick, and not even a real response, but despite what she said, Exodus felt happy that he was getting along well. He was grateful for her assistance, but he couldn't think of any real way to say it without coming off as rude...as such, he simply kept his comments to himself.
Exodus looked at Ezra, shrugging his shoulders with a wry smile on his face. "You look good like that." Exodus chuckled a bit before placing his hands in his pockets, having calmed down a bit after Ana's 'compliment' of his progress. "Of course, just because you surpass me in this doesn't mean you get to slack off either. You know how the fight begins, but not how to end it." Heck, she hardly knew how to defend herself on the ground, but...progress was progress.
When Exodus looked at Anastasia after proclaiming she had to keep up her physical studies, he had a smile painting his face. There were still things he had yet to teach her that may prove useful...similarly to the way she was refining his riding skill, he'd do the same for her when it came to combat. He'd already thought about it yesterday, and he saw her expression as failure was piled on top of failure...but that look of triumph when she actually succeeded made his decision for him. Besides, there was practicality in it.

Anastasia looked towards Vincent and smiled when he spoke to Ezra. Even thought he didn't say, she could tell he was grateful. She sighed rubbing Luna's nose and kissed it. Be sure you show him whose the boss. she said as they brought the horses back to the stables. At the mention of his training to her she blushed again remembering how humiliating it was to be taken down to easily. It wasn't like she expected it to be any other way, but she was still mortified.
She sighed a bit forgetting that Vincent was right beside her and left the horses. You think we should out here? she asked. I know a more secluded area... she mentioned with a blush. She didn't want to be seen like that with the others around, and found it best to practice someplace she wouldn't get caught.
She led him through the trees and into a small clearing not too far from the barracks. This should do. she said looking around making sure they weren't going to be seen.ＣＵＲＲＥＮＴ ＬＯＣＡＴＩＯＮ: Outside

Exodus followed after Anastasia, and by time she turned to face him, he was already dropped in to his stance. "Let's not waste time with a recap...I'll show you how to deal with a kick now if you haven't figured out the best way. All you need to remember is that the fight gets started on the ground, never before." Exodus tapped the side of his head with his index finger, thinking about something else before nodding. "I'll also show you the full escape when you're pinned, but you're going to have to take me down first."
Exodus' eyes narrowed again as he paid attention to both Anastasia, and the free area he had around him. This was good enough for a fight, so it was time to show Anastasia a few new tricks. "Now!" Exodus commanded, waiting for Anastasia to make her approach. As she kicked, Exodus' arm on the same side as the kick wrapped around her leg while his free arm was used to cushion the blow. He then took his front leg and swept her back leg from underneath her, flooring her again before dropping to the ground and placing both of his hands on her abdomen in a fan-like shape.
"As I said, the fight gets started here. If you find that you're in between your opponent's legs, don't give them a chance to guard. Put your hands right here on their belly, and lean low to give yourself enough force since pushing from above will do nothing. Push your palms all the way up to the chin, and with even a little bit of force, the back of their head is going to hit the ground...that'll finish them off if you're on a hard surface." Exodus demonstrated, not at all phased by this contact. Normally it'd embarrass him, but he was fighting, so he didn't mind it at all.
"Of course, there's always a possibility that your enemy knows what they're doing. Put my back on the floor and I'll show you how to defend and escape." Exodus would even throw a kick so she could show her proficiency with the move he just showed her.

Anastasia looked up to Vincent getting into position and swung her leg towards him. She gasped as she was pinned down again and she looked up to Vincent as he explained what she should have been doing. However her face flushed bright red and she tried hard to focus. Placing her hands on his belly she pushed as hard as she could and then reached his chin finding it difficult since he was clearly stronger than her but continued to push until she managed to hold him down. She breathed heavily tired from the exertion of her strength. This isn't going to work if someone is stronger than me. I'm already tired, anyone could take me back down at this point. she said her face still very red and waited.
She let go of him and looked down to him. If anybody pinned me down I think I would be done for. she said sliding off of him and sat beside him her head on her knees. She took a moment to catch her breath before looking to him. Alright, let's try again. she said. To her, it didn't make a difference anymore. She didn't want to admit that despite the fact she knew he was only practicing with her, she was frightened. Not by him but by the fact she was so much weaker than him, and if she had been really attacked she wouldn't have been able to fight back.ＣＵＲＲＥＮＴ ＬＯＣＡＴＩＯＮ: Outside
