Dubhan heard her before he saw her. The door swung open and a flood of words poured out of her mouth, punctuated by a shriek.

"Captain Ailuro, I know who you are," he said, turning his body in his chair to face her. He stood up and plucked his head off his stack of books, placing it safely in the crook of his arm to speak to her. "I am too old to take offense, but bear in mind that I cannot soften the blow of my appearance," he reminded her, as he did with seemingly every new member of staff.

"Let me make something very clear," he said, watching her closely. He did not know much about Preed, as the earth was more his domain, but she was part of his staff and therefore, under his supervision. "This is not your fault, but I am fed up with constantly hiring and firing members of staff who do not last the year. I will not hesitate to show you the door if you do not live up to my expectations of education and decorum while you are at this academy. Do not give me a reason to doubt you and send you packing."

Honestly, he had a good feeling. The Captain seemed to know what she was doing and exuded confidence and a no-nonsense attitude, far more than Harrison had. He doubted she'd see much trouble, but with the students they had...

He opened a drawer of his desk, and picked up a set of keys. "To your classroom, and your dormitory," he said, holding them out to her. "The school is at lunch break right now. Once the bell rings, they will be attending third hour class. I fully expect to see you teaching."

Dubhan watched her closely, trying to gauge how well they would work together. "Any questions before you go on your way?"

Captain Marrah was wide-eyed from curiosity. She huffed, then adjusted her coat. She began to pace slowly as she spoke, "I was told that the students here are either royal or nobility. We don't really have those kinds of positions on Preed. We have those that can and cannot. In the most possible respect, I don't show respect for individuals just because they have some sort of importance that has little to no significance. I won't hesitate to whip this little bastards into shape and if they refuse to comply, I'll see they hang. We don't tolerate weakness and noble or not, learning to fight is essential."

She stopped and turned back at Duhban. She took the keys, threw them in the air, and caught them, "Thank you for the concern, sir. I'll be getting started. Today is assessment day on their abilities. I'm quite eager to get to know my new privates," she said as a sly smiled, "I'd love to stay and chat, but I've got a classroom to prepare and it seems like you need time to decompress. Good day, sir." She bowed her head and with the click-clack of her shoes, was on her way to her class.

Dubhan frowned, listening silently to Marrah as she spoke. She definitely had everything under control... but her attitude might end up getting them in trouble, if her class was more boot camp than education. Perhaps he ought to send her to Sir Robert for a quick crash course in human etiquette and what royalty entailed. Just because she would not treat them royally did not mean they wouldn't expect it.

He watched her leave and decided to wait it out. If Sister reported too many students sent in crying about injuries, real or imagined, he'd set her up with the etiquette professor. For now, he wasn't about to mess up a good thing.

Dubhan turned back to his computer, staring blankly at it and trying to recall Sister's lessons on clicking and typing before his next class began.
