Margarita didn't allow the fact that the 'party' didn't quite meet her expectations bother her. This was so much more interesting!
"Ooooooh, spooky! Exactly the sort of thing for Halloween!"
She eagerly held out her hand for a blinking bracelet.

When they arrived at their destination, Castille stepped out of the limo and immediately was hit with a sense of deja vu. Her memories rose to the surface...the Negaverse's plan to lure children into energy sucking traps, the attack of the giant monster from the lake... She shook her head rapidly, and donned the hood of her costume once again. The location made her nervous, though not out of fear of the dark or something. She looked at each of the people involved with new-found interest. This party could be a trap. However, the nerves didn't keep her from accepting the blinking bracelet. Perhaps she was being paranoid. When everyone was given an explanation, she kept looking around, suspicious. She thought she could even spot the cabin that she had been in charge of off in the distance. When Isha asked a question, Castille sidled over to his location. She felt safer being around someone from before, and dearly hoped that teams were allowed. There was no way this girl was going off into Camp Larkspur on her own!

Being in a limo with her friends and new people was amazingly fun, especially when coupled with the thought that they were all going to a fun halloween party. What was not so fun was finding out they had been brought to a dark, rather spooky looking campsite, and were being left here over night.
Orah visibly drooped as she inched closer to Arian and Gwen, itching to latch onto one of their arms. She wasn't exactly the bravest girl... she hated scary movies and was probably the first to scream in haunted houses. While she didn't know the history behind this camp, she was not immune to its creepy feel.
Still... if her friends were staying, she would too. Obediently, the teen stuck her wrist out for her bracelet with its little blinky light, running a finger under it when it was secured around her tan wrist.
"Don't leave me alone, ok?" She said softly to them. "This place gives me the creeps."

Mathias just smirked and allowed the bracelet to be attached to his wrist. Great - they were going to be fodder for a serial killer snuff film. Oh well. Looking around at the group he moved over to Ruthie and nudged her gently in the side with his elbow. "I'll watch your back for crazy psychos if you watch mine," he said after leaning in close to her ear so others couldn't hear them. "Not sure if this is a first come, first win race - but I'd like to think I know you enough to trust you not to stab me in the back if it is."At least he hoped so. -- Darren accepted the bracelet with a bit of unease. He'd been about to answer Castille's question when they'd stopped, so he joined her when she moved over to Isha. He didn't care if they could work in teams or not - there was power in numbers. "To answer your question," he mentioned as he tapped the blade of the sword. "It's just foam and latex - but I made it myself if you're curious."It had been a royal pain in the a** - but he'd managed it. After about five tries and almost a month's worth of his cut from the band. But it'd been worth it in the end. "I'm game to hang with you two if it's allowed - or just conveniently be near by if it's not. If you catch my meaning."He didn't like the thought of wandering the dark alone either.

Castille looked over as Darren found his way over to her and Isha. She listened to his explanation, nodding. "I guess a real sword would be really heavy." she reasoned, eyeing the sword, impressed on the workmanship. She didn't catch his meaning, and her head tilted sideways in her classic sign of confusion. It couldn't have been too glaring, so she hoped she wasn't the only one who didn't get it. "You can hang out with us for sure! I think there is safety in numbers." She meant is only half jokingly.

Delilah had remained quiet during the drive out there. The limo was almost relaxing so as she watched the world go buy out doors but inside was full of excitement. What really amused her was that she had ended up in the limo with her cousin. Small world yet again.
But after standing out there in a dress of the Egyptian Queens, Delilah was really wishing she had chosen to wear something with pants and flats.
"Well this is new." She sighed looking down at her wrist where the bracelet flashed up at her. They were being tracked. That was the only reason she could come up for this.
Now her mind was at work as she looked around. She could hear voices that she recognized but most seemed to know people better. Still, it interested her to see who was pairing off with who.

Gwendolyn Caspian was a bit surprised, but not entirely let down. She was expecting a huge, creepy looking mansion, with hoity-toity people scuffling about and danger lurking in the shadows, but the sight of trees were definitely unexacting. And a little unnerving, but Gwen wasn't going to let others see any of that. Even outside of her fuku, she was strong and brave, and what better way to prove that than in a creepy old summer camp in the woods? She was clueless on the details of Larkspur Summer Camp, but its history didn't mean all that much to her. It probably should have, but Gwen had a way of pushing those important details to the side, as she listened to Hayden's introduction, wondering how much was legit and how much was hammy acting. She glanced back at the limos but there was no desire to go home, not with Orah and Arian and the others that remained. She wasn't scared! She held out her right hand as instructed, giving her friends a little pep talk as she did so. "Don't worry, guys. We'll stick together and divide the prize among ourselves, since I know we're going to win!"--- Scott Erlea felt lied to and he wasn't sure if he liked it. He wanted to see a mansion, and this was certainly NOT a mansion. At all. Woods, zero visibility, and now the creepy introduction and backstory that was given made his mind shift from one horror movie trope to another. "Guess that rules out House on Haunted Hill and Clue." He said this allowed to no one in particular.
Now his mind was on the more 'slasher' genres, like Friday the 13th, and Scott wasn't quite sure he liked that. At all. The thought of running around in the woods with a psycho, in-human killer chasing after him just didn't seem like it was going to be a fun time, but at this point, Scott felt compelled to participate. The offer to go back to the limo was tempting, but how cowardice would it have been for others to see him flee? Not like he knew any of these people to care about his reputation, but he wasn't going to take that chance.
Immediately his eyes shot to a familiar face, and Scott practically pounced Isha, and his request was more like a demand as he grabbed for his arm. "Isha! We're going to team up! You've seen enough horror movies to know that we'd do better in teams! The first that splits up always dies!"
So, Scott held out his right hand for his bracelet. It was too late to turn back...

FUUU, and here he thought that he would be the one needing 'protecting'! And yet here he was, first having Castille come up towards him, then Darren sauntering his way over, then being bounced on by Scott, his dear ol friend!
Certainly, the second one was welcomed! How he adored the boy, yes he did, and he would have done anything to keep him happy and safe! He was quite glad that nothing changed between them after his little confession, and for him, everything still came easy and naturally. He turned to give the boy a full on hug with his giant lobster claws, laughing out loud at how awkward it was to do so in such a costume.
"That's beyond right! It's always the independent ones that die first. Or the overly flirty ones. Or the jerks. Don't be any of them, you got it? But no worries! If you need me, I'm here to help! I'll keep you safe, Scott!" He joked a little bit, nudging the other, then turned fully back to Castille.
"And I'll keep everyone safe here with me! Or try to! Surely they'll attack a lobster first before anyone else! We are too delicious to resist!"

Hayden watched them looking around nervously with a gleam in his eye. This was exactly the reaction he wanted - the trepidation and fear. As people grouped together, though, he had to give an inward grin. People were very predictable in these types of situations.
"Well, now, only one person can find the prize and claim it. If you want to try to manage teams you can but beware. Circumstances change quickly when you're in the dark alone."
Ah, someone noticed the bracelet. If they paid attention, and few people really did in his experience, they might notice that the bracelet light was flashing in time with their pulse. Some were flashing faster than others at the moment. It made him a bit happy to see that. It meant his tactics were working.
"Well, now, those bracelets are sort of tracking devices. They're locked onto your wrists now so good luck trying to remove them until the event is over. The light...well, I'll leave that to you to figure out."

When Margarita heard Scott mention that the loners get picked off first, she skipped over to him and the rest of the group forming around the lobster. "I'll go with you guys too! There's no way I want to be the first out!"

Delilah at first felt she was the only one listening to the rich man's words. So congratulations to them, they were his entertainment for the evening? Oh this thrilled her so much.
As she thought this, her bracelet lit up more out of anger than fear. Still, she turned to the groups forming and walked over towards one. One seemed to be getting larger and that made her more nervous at the size. So she moved towards the group of three women.
"So mind if I tag along?" She asked with a shrug. Had it been day light, she would happily done this alone. At night, she didn't want to end up face first in the lake. Not to mention, she liked hearing the woman claim victory already. That made the girl smile. "If four is not too many?"

A satisfied smile lit the lips of the skeleton-painted face. Under the costume of a pirate who'd clearly seen better days--or maybe just was caught under moonlight with a blood money curse--Devlin was excited. It'd been a while since he'd gone to a real Halloween party. After a few years, hanging with his buddies pulling pranks or dinning on candy swiped from sibling or parents' stashes just... lost its appeal. Yeah it kinda sucked to hang in the back, watching as groups paired up and flitted around. No one here caught is eye, no face rung any bells. Though he wasn't sure if his would either, covered as it was in facepaint. Toying with the frayed edges of his dark coat, his cuffed boots crunched against the ground as he meandered forward a little.
Teams broke out pretty quick. Talk of horror movies made him snort. Somehow, he doubted the guy here had access to some real terrors. If he was too cheap to bring them to a ruined campsite, though, his funding could be thrown into something a bit more... thrilling. It was the rich guy's commentary that kept him from debating which 'side' he wanted to be on--that whole 'circumstances change quickly' thing. All this for some grand prize? Sure, why not.
"These clues on paper, or're we gonna be playing guessing games if a broken door's really an arrow pointing us in the right direction?" was his easy question to Pembrose as he wandered up to grab a bracelet of his own. The flashing light made him pause, squinting at it and the timing. Weird. All the easier to see them with, he noted, pulling the heavy cloth of his jacket over the device.
No, he wasn't expecting an easy time out of any of this, and certainly wasn't expecting a especially helpful answer from the guy as to the form of these clues. But hey. Never hurt to see what he'd answer honest.
-------------------- Garbed in a grey body suit with a hood that managed to--with the help of a hair net and more bobby-pins than she ever dared to count--keep the vast majority of her hair tucked away, Danika did not look a hell of a lot like Danika. The thick gold belt circled her hips, a whip wrapped and hanging from the belt that she toyed with. Often. Fiddled with both pieces more than she ever should. Her red eyes jumped from costume to costume, much as they'd done on the ride over, and she couldn't keep herself from grinning like a fool. But were they really in the woods for this party? Lot more fun than she figured it'd be, location wise, but she was relieved she'd chosen boots with thicker heels for this costume. The normal slender type Catwoman wore would have been murder out here.
Adjusting the black mask over her eyes and poking at the slender 'cat ears' atop her hood to make sure they were, in fact, still upright, she listened to their host's introduction--vaguely, anyways. Her attention snagged on a familiar looking Egyptian Queen, and her grin grew all the wider as she confirmed the sense.
She paused for a moment, grabbing one of the pulsating bracelets and peering at the light for a few seconds. Weird. She felt like she was being tagged--though if they could track people, then she sort of was. Was that supposed to be a red flag that they'd need to track people here? Although a camp had to be pretty big, right? Weird place for a party, indeed.
Scrapping the concern for the moment, she bee-lined back to where she'd stood before, scanning costumes as she went, before her eyes lit on the one she sought. Ignoring the fact Delilah had wandered over to a small group of people--the more the merrier, right?--she raised a grey covered hand with sharp nails. "Delilah? That you?" She skirted up closer to the younger girl, scanning her face to mentally match it up with the one she'd met in the craft store. She get lucky enough to know someone here? Kickass! Hearing what the other girl said to the group she was apparently joining with, she turned her slightly apologetic grin to the other three. "Do you mind if I barge in and make it five?"

"Ah, well, some clues will be easier to spot than others..."
As vague as was expected, sort of. Hayden laughed. The moon illuminated him again and he looked perfectly comfortable. It had taken him three weeks and two permits to organize his little shindig here. As they all made their teams the drivers quietly left the area, driving off and locking the high gates behind them.
"There are a few things I forgot to mention. From here on in until first light you may not cross the fence line surrounding the property. Cell phones and other such devices aren't allowed and will need to be surrendered when you take one of these."
He held up a fan of maps in his hand, showing them to the party-goers.
"Each person is allowed one map. There are seven zones in this camp and each map has a different starting location marked." Meaning whatever teams they'd just concocted were now shot to hell. "Come take one and move to your starting positions. You'll hear a signal when the games begin."

-EVENT!- ALRIGHT PARTIERS - the plot thickens. Each person may take one map
In your next post you will RNG 1-7 and will be assigned that subsequent zone to start in. No more than 3 people to a zone. If your number is the same as a full zone simply RNG again. While there will be 3 people in each of the seven zones to start with they are large enough that each person can claim a different place within the zone. In the beginning you will each be alone. (this may change later on but for now...)
Part 3 will be open for just over 24 hours until 4:45ish pm PST Thurs, Oct 10th. Everyone must post during this time to determine their starting zone for the main event. Players that fail to post in this time will have their zones assigned to them

There had been no way Ian was going to turn down an adventure like this, and had accepted his wristband happily. Sure, it might not have been the party he had expected, but that was alright. This was likely to be more fun.
The others had paired off, grouping up, but he had remained slightly apart. He wasn't going to make any plans until after the rest of the rules had been explained, and when Hayden had said that their starting positions were on the maps that he was about to hand out, he knew that that had been a wise decision.
He stepped up, taking a map in exchange for his phone. The flashlight app would have been nice to have, but eh, whatev. He could deal with a little hardship for this.
