He realized too late it was the cave of tentacles. With a yelp, he tried to swim faster, but the beast was on him, tentacles cold and clammy clamping around him. No no no no no- bubbles rose as he tried to scream and thrash, kicking and wriggling, but that only seemed to enrage the beast further. Frantically he twisted, giving the thing a sharp kick that at least distracted teh beast long enough for him to slip free...

He had found enough, he figured, and started his ascent back to the surface. No sooner had he left the caves, a massive shadow passed over him. He glanced up, paling in the sunlight flickering down from above... something was coming...

He struggled, pawing at teh water to try to claw his way free, but the fish was quite interested in eating him. Another bite, and it was latched on. In a panic, he flailed his arm, trying to knock it free...

Jerry sank down, close enough to the rocks of the caves to bash the fish frantically until it finally let go. He was feeling winded and dizzy, his air running thin. While the thing was dazed, he kicked for all his might toward the surface, breaking up into the air in relief.
HE HAD DONE IT!!
AND HE HADN'T DROWNED!
Proudly, he dog-paddled back to shore with his stones.
He'd need to find a new swim suit before the next time, though.

Jerry went back to his room as quickly as possible, considering his state of undress, rinsed himself off in his cold shower, changed into his comfy sweats and positioned himself on his comfy couch.
He lay the stones across his coffee table (after cleaning up the ukulele project to make room), and breathed deep.
Inner piece, huh? He held his hands over the runes, trying to clear his mind. The insecurities kept bubbling up, but if he hummed softly, he could feel the tension leave him. Several crumbled, but after a while, he seemed to get the hang of it, the symbols glowing to life. By the end,he considered himself a RUNIC MASTER, staring proudly at the superior rune glimmering in his hand.
At least now he could power his phone!
