There was an even longer pause: for someone who stated they had issues with time they sure did just about everything to milk how awkward this whole meeting was, or just this situation in general.
"I will agree that your ability for disguise at Wonder Park, even without purpose was better than that of others working as Hunters- " Mark, who was now being stared at, sank a little lower - "but that does not give you clearance to work on such a vague condition. Until you understand what operations are needed undercover, your proposal will be put on hold, and then reconsidered when you have given a clear condition that needs to be fulfilled. I will assign Otto to supervise your concerns for the time being, as he is also working undercover, I'm sure that your ability to at least have a general ******** clue of what you're doing will benefit him as well."
He didn't seem to notice that Edgar was steadily sinking lower from his perch in the wall, leaving a very notable gash that was beginning to slide downwards.

More ******** babysitting. Otto gave Lawr a nasty glare, his icy blue gaze piercing through strands of blonde and pink hair.

Taym eyed the wall and wondered if spontaneous building collapse would be enough to get him out of public speaking, possibly forever.

The Death lead eyed his cell phone. "That is about as much time as I have for bullshit, if-"
- CRACK-
- And then a section of the wall behind Edgar crumbled. As in the drywall part of the wall crumbled entirely, revealing the hollow framework of the wall, a gap that ran around three feet wide between this current room and Caelius's office behind this room-
- With a decomposing body - or just the head, as the entire wall hadn't crumbled, just a section. The head was mostly hollow, a skull with straggling hair sticking out - and the smell was terrible.
Mark looked like he was about to be sick, again, Sam gave Caelius the most incredulous look as if even for the Death lead that was going a little too far-
- As the Death lead himself snapped around, Edgar had been fully pulled out of the wall, flung across the room, Circe was summoned, the weapon tearing into the pliant wall until the full corpse was revealed.
A corpse, rotting, just as foul, hanging by a thick rope - a noose - on the beam of the hollow wall extension. There was a sign hanging from the corpse itself.
THE SERPENT WILL CONSUME ITSELF.
- O
There was a long, drawn out pause. Then, a few things happened at once, Mark shouting some sort of gibberish, Sam gagged and backed up, and the Death lead moved his desk, grabbing his cell phone. "No one leaves this ******** room until I get back." Furious was a light word to describe his situation, even for those who were terrible at reading facial cues or expressions.
Seconds later, the door slammed closed, and he was off - god knows where - leaving Mark, Sam, and the rest of the Death Hunters in the room.
"Can we do something about that smell?" Sam was gagging, and had finally pulled up her scarf to cover her mouth and nose. OOC WELCOME TO OPEN INVESTIGATION- There is a body in the wall - surprise. There are very little clues involved other than a sign hanging from the the body, a thick rope wrapped around the body's neck like a noose, and the body itself. The wall itself spans around three feet wide. The other end is not broken, only this room's end. The drywall is crumbling at best. - As your Hunter has been REQUESTED not to leave this room, you can go ahead and investigate as you see fit. You can look at the body and do any examinations in red or talk to other Hunters in the room. - If your Hunter was not here but they are a Death Hunter you can just sort of assume there were here the entire time but very quiet

Lawr listened intently to Cael and nodded gratefully, he wasn't going to push his luck, he was perfectly willing to start right at the bottom and work his way up to what he sought, even if that meant working under a hunter who looked like he perhaps wasn't long out of school - though appearances were deceptive, he knew nothing if not that.
Otto got a winningly bright smile for his glare, and once again Lawr was back into his faux American accent. "Wonderful. It's a pleasure, Otto."
When the wall crumbled, his attention shifted back to it, raising a white blonde brow. The sign was immediate in its implications, anyone with any sci fi or occult credentials worth their salt knew about ouroboros, but what it meant here was most curious.
They weren't allowed to actually leave, so he made no move to, instead he got to his feet with carefully unthreatening slowness and moved over to look at the body a little more closely.
In his head, Butch snapped awake with a slobbering snort and a snarl.
He ignored him, trying instead to focus on the matter at hand, the obvious was that it was an intentional threat, the noose either a threat towards someone in their division or a reminder of something else. Upside down it could have been the hanged man card. He didn't know enough about the politics of the division to say anything further on the matter.
He gave the other hunters in the room curious looks instead.

Oh, good. He wouldn't be doing any public speaking after all. The day was looking right up.
No, wait.

Two hands suddenly clamped down on Lawr's shoulders -- Followed by a chin. Pandora had apparently been creeping on the dead body situation as well, though her scarf was tied up around her face and she sounded like she was breathing heavily through her mouth. " The serpent will consume itself. Signed... O?" she read aloud (particularly for Lawr) before taking a breath through the nose and coughing. "But that's not a serpent. That's a person." She corrected herself. "Was a person. Also, not eaten. Unless bacteria count." She nudged herself a little closer on tiptoe and whispered: " Is that Susan?"

"Yeah, sure.." Otto grumbled back at Lawr, heaving a sigh and rubbing his head. He already hated that damned undercover mission. It was draining pretending to be some monster high kid in Halloween, socializing with a bunch of freaks. And then the wall collapsed... a little bit. Otto tried not to gag, also tying his scarf around his mouth and nose. Why was there a body in the wall? O? Wasn't that the crazy dude who hijacked all of Deus that one time? The teen groaned, keeping a hand over his scarf covered mouth and nose. "Gee I dunno, Sam! Why don'tcha soak it in yur damn awful PERFUME!" He sassed at the other hunter.

"It's a person but I think the serpent will consume itself refers, in part to the concept of ouroboros, an old symbol of a snake or sometimes a dragon eating its own tail. A self perpetuating cycle. Possibly a play on the O underneath. And indeed I think it is a person."
He eyed the rotting, stinking thing and considered with horror, the question if it was Susan. Maybe it was. He always chilled himself to the core when his bullshitting fell close to the mark. "Very possibly, or perhaps a friend Susan was concerned about."

Normally, Solia didn't get excited about seeing rotting dead bodies.
But-
O.
"The Big O." She looked at Gale then at the body.
Her grin was a a mile wide as she boldly said the infamous lines.
"It looks like we got a mystery on our hands gang!"
She tried to tie her scarf around her neck like an ascot. She would be Freddy.
"Also urg-" She gagged for a second, the stench getting to her, eyes watering, "- The self consuming serpent could be referring to the whole case of who killed the council and Deus ex itself being rotten to the core and on it's way to destruction? It was all very deep and meaningful and stuff but if anything of what I have learned-"
She got closer to the body fighting the urge to retch. She wanted to see what the body might have been wearing, if they had been a hunter, and if so, what rank and division.
"Its that it wasn't the man that made this place stink. That is one mystery down."

This was not turning out the way it was supposed to have.
The stench of the rotted body floated out across the room, and Gale wrinkled his nose, resisting the urge to put a hand up to cover his nose and mouth. It reminded him of the Sahara, of the horrible, awful smell that surrounded them all, threatened to suffocate them. It hung in the air, stale and terrible, and Gale had a moment of nausea in which he wasn't actually certain if he could keep himself from retching.
But then he read the words left and the moment passed, Gale exhaling a short breath, not wanting to breathe too much of the air. He glanced sideways at Solia, catching her expression, and reached beneath the sleeve of his coat, on the inside of his left wrist. He pressed his fingers to something hidden there, vaguely, as though recalling something, and then narrowed his eyes.
His gaze cut to Sam because she had been there with him as well.
"Not these guys again."
Moving towards the body, his lips pressed together, Gale stretched upwards onto the tips of his toes, attempting to examine the rope that the body hung from.

The rope was too high up for Gale, he would probably need a ladder (or a chair). There was something positioned, glinting at the top of the rope. Something metallic? The Hunter was indeed still wearing surprisingly in tact remains of a Full Hunter coat, that in fact, looked a little too clean. There were several things to be noted. One, that the coat was very clean. The second was the division, which could have either been Moon or Death because the coat was tucked in at the back. The third was a long gash along the inside of the gold coat lining on one side, and the fourth, something sticking out of its pocket.

Taym had already yanked his scarf up over his nose and mouth but was, on the whole, dealing with the smell much better than most of the people around him. What this implied about the sort of things he was accustomed to smelling was dispiriting. He had been attempting to stay out of the way but on being addressed pretty much had no option but to slink up and pretend he was more irritated at the request than flattered at being noticed. He looked up at what Gale was looking at, realized the issue, and made a VERY CAUTIOUS reach himself, summoning Fiona to poke it gingerly and/or light the way because he isn't just gonna grab something shiny, he's learned his lessons, ok. But Taym isn't all that tall either, so if he had to, he'd drag a chair over first."This par for the course for a department meeting?" he asked drily.

The rope snapped and the body fell to the ground, now half-hanging off the 'hole' entry area. The head looked like it was about to snap off any second.
