Auden was excited that his friend liked the idea of him teaching him to cook. He looked forward to the day that Xander would come over. He hoped that it would not be once but many times.

"What do I normally do?" As he thought the question over he spoke it. What did he do in his free time? Was it anything worth mentioning. "I'm home schooled and mom believes in a good education so I do a lot of studying. I do spend a good bit of my mornings trying to shift my tail into human legs. In the afternoons I like going the orchards for apples and swimming in the ocean or streams."

"You? What do you do? What's it like living on a ship?"

"My ability to shift my tail into legs may be magic but it hardly makes me a magic user. I cannot throw fireballs or create great rifts in the earth." Auden grinned. He rather liked that he was nearly ordinary. He did on occasion wonder if someday him conjuring magic in such a fashion. But overall he was happy with how things were.

"When I'm older? I honestly don't know. I'm struggling now just to make it through the day. Whatever it is that I do decide to do I want to be good at it." He took to the pushing the last few bits of his pancakes around his plate. "My uncle with my moms permission offered me a position in his restaurant. I just don't know if I want to do that because my mom sings there and my uncle manages the place. Family is great and all but too much you know."

"I would love someday for you to show me how to make knots. And also of those songs and games you play. It sounds like a lot of fun."

Auden laughed at the thought of him doing something destructive. He did enough destructive stuff to himself... without trying. He was typically a pretty decent guy. So he thought at least. "Yes. Guess you are right there. I don't plan on trying to learn anything other than getting my legs back. I miss them."

"I'm not sure I'd like it. It is cooking in the kitchens or waiting tables. But it isn't always about being happy it is about being stable and able to take care of yourself and the ones you care and love." He grabbed the glass of juice and finished it. "Let me know. I'm kinda excited."

"You've got to have money to make money. At least if I took that job I'd be well paid and looked after. I could save up the money that's left over after normal expenses and then use it to do something I like." Auden smiled. He hoped that that would put his friends mind at a bit of ease. "But like I said I'm not entirely sure. Things are just a bit jumbled up right now. And you know first things first gaining the ability to have legs instead of a tail again."

Auden raised a hand when he saw the waitress coming. Before she could leave after dropping off the check he handed her some money from his satchel and told her not to worry about the change. He had left her a little over six dollars in top. They had after all sat for a good little while.

"I'd very much like it if you walked me home. But, mind you where we are going isn't permanent. It is temporary until we are sure I am completely one hundred percent."

And with that said the headed towards Auden's current place of residence.
