Dysmas took the shower head and coconut from Sweetie and set it on the ground and then kneeled down beside it. He started whacking at it for a while, but not much was really happening except for little bits of the outer shell chipping away. It would take a year at this rate. Dysmas narrowed his eyes at the coconut feeling slightly defeated and trying to think of a better way to approach it with the tools he had. Dysmas held the shower head so that the sharper end that was usually attached to the wall was sticking up and started pushing it into the green shell. Once he was able to get that under the green shell he was able to start pulling off larger chunks of it until he was left with a stringy looking ball. Dysmas smiled, it was a little bit easier now, pulling off the fibers until they had a brown coconut. "That look more right to you now?" he asked holding it up to Sweetie. He wondered if the coconut shell pieces might make good kindling.

Sweetie tried not to be impatient while he worked. Instead she looked around, pacing the area a little. They would need to find a place to sleep tonight wouldn't they? She heard the grunting of him changing his methods, and came back from wandering the immediate area.
"That looks a lot more like a coconut now!" She grinned, clapping. He'd worked a miracle. And best yet, it looked pretty darn edible now that it wasn't all green and weird looking. One good whack and it would be a delicious and milky coconut they could share. He'd done all the hard work, she would be more than happy to let him have the majority of it and the whack to open it.
"You worked a miracle Dysmas!" Sweetie squealed, hugging him now. He really had, and she couldn't express it enough.

Dysmas grinned as Sweetie hugged him, basking in the appreciation. It was an unusual feeling to be proud of himself for something. While his parents were great and he knew they were proud of him, it was a different feeling to have someone outside of his family display that. Dysmas raised his arm and was going to give the coconut one final whack to crack it open when he paused mid-strike. "Hm... If I break this open now, all the juice will go into the dirt and sand."
Dysmas looked around the immediate area for any fallen leaves, and when he found one pulled it towards him. He cracked open the coconut on top of it and all the milk and water was caught by the leaf. "There..." He handed her one of the pieces, giving her the bigger piece because he thought she should have it. "You should drink some of that too, I hope it helps you feel better." He said as he started scraping out the meat of the coconut with his fingers. It wasn't the tastiest thing in his opinion, but it worked.

She blushed a bit, backing up once she'd finished hugging him. It wasn't that she minded hugs, it was more that she really didn't know Dysmas. But he had entirely deserved that hug. He'd done so much so quickly.
"Are you sure?" Sweetie blinked, looking at the piece he'd handed her. She wasn't about to shun it, but she wanted to make sure he was nourished just as well as she was. But then again, he was scraping the white stuff out of the coconut, he would be okay if she drank what he'd handed her.
Trying not to think about the taste, she sipped at the milk, slowly at first. About two small sips in, she uttered a very soft moan of pleasure, gulping down the remainder of what she had. Oh Sweet Celestia that made her throat feel better. "Thank you." She rasped, taking to nibbling on the shell she was still holding while watching him work. Something about how sure he was about this...
"Do you live on the beach?"

Dysmas looked up from his coconut and stared at Sweetie for a brief moment after she had asked him a question. "Yes..." he responded, wondering how much she might be piecing together about him... about his identity... since he was no longer a pegacyst... or whatever it was... in her eyes. His glance quickly shot back down to his coconut as he ate some more of it. Since she was done drinking off the leaf, Dysmas took the opportunity to drink some as well. It felt cool in his throat, dried out by the sand and sun. Dysmas realized then that he should probably go for a swim soon. "What about you... where do you live?"

She pondered for a moment. Where did she live? She felt safe inside the tree, in the same place that both Princess Celestia and Princess Luna lived, as well as the chief. But was it really home? No, but it was safe and where she lay her head at night to sleep.
"I live in the great tree." She offered, smiling weakly. She appreciated everything everyone there was doing, and how they were so kind to one another, it should have felt just like home. Why didn't it? Was it because she hadn't found that special somepony yet? She'd been doing without that for years before the move, why would it bother her now? Or was it something else entirely? Sweetie hoped it was something else. She didn't need a special somepony to make her feel at home.
"Everyone there is very kind, it's a little overwhelming sometimes." A soft smile graced her lips, remembering everything that happened on a daily basis. A very busy and bustling community She almost missed it.

"The great tree..." Dysmas repeated. He only knew some about it, it's name and general location, though he had never gone to see it himself. It made sense to him that she lived there, she was some sort of faun afterall. Dysmas looked at her with a tilt of his head, wondering how the tree would be overwhelming. He didn't know what life was like there, his life growing up had been so simple and carefree. Dysmas set his coconut down, for a moment he had relaxed and forgotten that they were stranded on some unknown island. "I should probably head down to the water..." he told her. It was the dryness of his skin that reminded him that a dip in the water was just what he needed.

Sweetie rubbed her arm a bit, knowing that the tree shouldn't be overwhelming. All of her friends were there, the princesses were there, even the faun that already lived in the tree were there. But change wasn't something she was used to. Maybe that was why she'd found the move so overwhelming. Everyone there was so nice, it really was just like being at home.
"Is something wrong?" She asked, concern coating her voice. Why would he need to head down to the water? They had made it all the way back here without any issue, and it wasn't like they could drink the ocean water. Hmm... "Or are you just hot?" The weather was a little toasty out here. She tilted her head, really worried about him.

"Well... uh... no?" Dysmas responded at first, but then her second question offered a suggestion that he took her up on. Although he kind of laughed about it, "Yeah, I'm just hot." The male said it with a wry smile, implying the double meaning. He didn't normally say stuff like that, and he quickly shied away and shut his mouth. "It is pretty warm... I mean we're shaded now... a swim would be nice. Do you swim?" Dysmas said in an attempt at recovery.

Sweetie smiled, glad there wasn't anything wrong with him. And then he continued it. The faun blushed, grinning. "I think I agree with that." The faun continued grinning, not at all minding her admission. He was good looking and he deserved to hear someone else say it. But then he got awkward? Confusion crossed her face as he asked her if she swam.
Truth be told, Sweetie Drops was no good at swimming whatsoever. She usually sank like a rock. But he seemed to want to go pretty badly. Enough to make her worry about his well being. She tried not to take too long to figure out if she was willing to risk swimming or not, honestly not wanting to be far from him. Maybe she could offer to go with him and pretend the water was too cold? No, that would be really lame of her. Just as lame as getting in the water and revealing so quickly she couldn't swim. Best just to be honest then.
"I really don't swim very often..." She rubbed the back of her neck. "The water is pretty and everything, but I..." Sweetie blushed again, "I don't know how to swim..." She trailed off, very quietly. It wasn't like she had need of it often, and she was more than content to just look at the waters most of the time. Swimming had just never really appealed to her. At all.

Dysmas blushed, not entirely sure which comment she was agreeing with, he had kind of started babbling. His heart sunk though when he heard she didn't know how to swim. It was like his mother and father, his mom hated the water and that was where his father belonged. Always torn between the two worlds. Did Sweetie hate the water too? "Well I could teach you..." Dysmas offered, if she was open to it. He wasn't even sure if he would really be able to teach her, swimming had come so naturally to him when he was young that he didn't know any way to really break it down for her. "Or I mean... we can just stay in the shallows... so you don't really have to swim, just stand."

Sweetie smiled wide, enjoying the thought of being taught how to swim. She wondered if it was complicated or if it was something that would be unbearably easy that she'd be embarrassed for not knowing. In any case, she was more than happy to take up his offer of learning.
"That sounds like a lot of fun Dysmas! Lets go~" She kept smiling, enjoying the thought of learning how to swim. Or maybe it was just the prospect of learning from him. Either way, she was happy about it.

"Alright!" Dysmas smiled widely as he stood up. Well at least it hadn't sounded like she was completely opposed to the water, that was a relief. He wondered if it was at all possible that he and Sweetie might be friends after they were rescued. Dysmas was still holding onto the hope that there was rescue. He looked at the coconut and shower handle.... he didn't really want to carry those things down to the beach. "Maybe we should set up camp here... when we're done swimming." He suggested as he began the walk back to the water, thinking of the crown and bottle that he had left on the beach.

Sweetie nodded her agreement, glancing down towards the coconut and shower head. It probably would be a good idea to leave both objects here.
"Sounds like a smart idea Dysmas." She smiled, stretching a bit. If they were going in the water, she would need to stretch out a little first wouldn't she? Or maybe that was something the water helped with? The faun really wasn't sure about any of it. "We can look for something to sleep in on the way back too." At least something to keep any bugs or things off them while they slept...
The faun was caught up enough in her thoughts that she'd almost forgotten to follow him when he left. With a squeak, she hurried to catch up with the other.

Dysmas turned his head over his shoulder when he heard her squeak, it was kind of cute. Ok, it was really cute. It made him crack a tiny smile, "I wouldn't have gone too far without you." She didn't want to be alone, and he would make sure that didn't happen. Though he was thinking about the things she had started to say before: something to sleep in. They were going to be sleeping here. The thought made him sad, until the cruise he had only ever slept in the home of his mother. At least the boat had been comfy, he hadn't thought about sleeping here, they were supposed to be rescued...
