Zecora was slightly frustrated with being so helpless and unable to climb a tree. "Are you sure? If it is such a long way up, you should not hurt yourself," she felt a little like a burden. Whatever was up there, he seemed really excited. "Why can't you tell me?" she asked, anticipation building as she grabbed onto the vines that he had made for her. Zecora poked him playfully, "Tell me what it is you found, Enki."

"I'll be fine don't worry. It's worth it, trust me." He made sure she was securely tied in before making her she was tied to him. "Ok hold on tight, next stop, up." He said as he started to scale the tree once again, though much slower so not to freak Zecora out. There was no danger this time after all and if he when too fast he'd just burn himself out before they got to the stop. He grinned as she poked him and laughed. "Then it wouldn't be a surprise now would it?" Clearly he wasn't giving up what he had seen.

Zecora held on as he suggested, watching as they moved up. Were those... spears...? Zecora was slightly concerned. To her it didn't look like a staircase, it looked like someone had climbed a tree and was pursued by a hunting party with spears. Now the question was... who was at fault, the creature in the trees or the creatures with the spears. Zecora wondered about the possibility of running into either up in the tree, wherever Enki was taking her, and what sort of fate they had. "No, I suppose you are right." Zecora said breaking away from her thought. She was certain she was in for some sort of surprise, and while Enki seemed to believe it was a good surprise, Zecora worried about the lurking dangers.

Enki kept quiet as he climb, keeping his pace and trying not to over do himself. It took him a long to get to the top, but as he reached the hut in trees he smiled. "Look at this!" He said as he helped her up to the hut. " I haven't seen anything like this...It looks really old too." He pointed to a bridge. "And it looks like there are more just across this bridge....Like there's a village up here....And nuts! The trees are full of nuts!." The male seemed to bounce with excitement before he walked out to the middle of on of the bridges, looking out to the moon with a smile.

Zecora's eyes grew wider as the hut came into her view. It was lighter up here then it was in the forest, since the moon shone through the leaves, but it was hard to see all of the details of it in the night darkness, but its mere presence gave her even more questions. The biggest question of all was if anyone still lived here. "Hmm..." Zecora did not want to voice her thoughts and break Enki's spirit, he was so excited about his discovery. "You have done well, Enki." she told him as she undid herself from the vines. "Dis is good ting." Zecora smiled at him. "Do you tink we should wait until daylight to explore doe." She remembered the bags, "Unless we have another source of light."

Enki seemed to be lost in his thoughts, and yet listening at the same time. "It would probably be safer." He finally replied to her, looking out into the trees. "I didn't really explore the hut before I came to get you so we should at least start there." He didn't seem to want to leave his spot, clearly thinking about stuff. "Who could have lived up in the trees like this? The trees are too thick to be flying through...Where they faun?" He pondered out loud. Faun were the only group that seemed to live in the trees after all. There were so many questions, but no answers. Maybe they'd find something out in the morning with the light.

Zecora stared at Enki, even though he admitted it would be safer, for a moment it seemed like he wanted to ignore the safer option. She was relieved that he had questions too, it had seemed like he had been too quick to jump to happy conclusions. "Faun... if it was faun, dese huts be very, very old. From what I have gathered of your histories there was no faun here for a very long time..." Zecora did not have much experience with pae-types other then faun and Enki who was half-faun so it was hard for her to tell if they had or had not lived here. "Mayhaps we will know with the exploration of de homes." Zecora said hopefully. "You want te explore dis one now?" Zecora asked pointing to the closest one. If it was safe, they could rest in it for the night and resume their explorations in the morning light.

Enki finally looked back to Zecora and nodded. "It's just so..Wonderful though...Type of place I'd like to live in...You know?" To have such a village meant there were those who lived in the trees, but as far as he could hear the night was silent. The way the trees had grown it seemed like there was little upkeep. Was this all abandoned or was their something still up here? He shook his head as he headed back to the first hut. He stopped at the door and seemed to wait, his ears twitching slightly as he listened for sounds. Still nothing. Figuring it was safe enough he opened the door and moved inside the dark room.

Zecora smiled lightly and nodded her head. "It does seem like a good place. I wonder if there is some other way to get up here farther along." Zecora went thinking about their previous conversation on who had lived here before and who it was possible to live up here now. If the spears were the only way up, then the previous residents likely flew up. As she followed Enki into the tree-hut, her eyes winced at the darkness. "Dat was silly of me, leaving my pack down dere." She said with a light facepalm. There was probably a better source of light then the moon in her pack.

Eh? The packs? Oh right. He had forgotten them down below....He didn't really want to leave Zecora in the darkness though..."Well if you want to wait in the moonlight I can go down an fetch them." He said as his eyes found it hard to focus in the darkness. "It wouldn't be that long..." But I still don't really want to leave you alone up here. Enki thought the last part to himself. He'd already left her alone twice already this night...Was a third time really wise? Though they couldn't see and aurrrgggg. Either way he looked at it, it wasn't very good. "I'll do whatever you think is best Zecora." He looked to her and rubbed the back of his head with a weak smile. This night was never going to end now was it?

Zecora thought about it for a while, looking around in the darkness. It was possible that they could just trust this hut, feel around for a little bit until they find something comfy and wait until the morning to see what they slept in. Zecora's mind was suddenly filled with visions of skeletons on the floor from whatever ancient people once lived here. It wasn't that she was particularly frightened of skeletons, but she didn't want to disturb the remains. "Yes, perhaps we should get de packs." Zecora decided as she headed back out the door. "I will be waiting for you out here, if dis is alright?"
PostPosted: Thu Oct 10, 2013 2:22 pm

Enki nodded. He'd get the packs for the both of them. "Ya, stay in the moonlight...I'll be back as fast as I can." It was clear from his voice he didn't want to leave her. This day had left a sour taste in his mouth, what else could happened to them? He sighed to himself. The faster this was done with, the faster this day would be over. He almost feared what the next day would bring after all this.

He moved to the edge of the tree before looking back to Zecora for a moment before walking off the edge and dropping down. The male had done this way to many times but it was just so much faster to fall then to fly down. He started to flap his wings once he felt far down enough, it was hard to tell how far he was in the dark. His wings felt oddly heavy for some reason, in bafflement he hovered in place for a moment. He shook his head before looking for the branches he had left the bags on, he much just be tired.

It took him longer than he would have liked to spot the bags, fearing for a moment that he had lost them. He sighed as he spotted them and flew over to the branch he had them rested on and quickly snatched them up. This was taking him way too long. He was getting worried. He looked up to the top of the tree before jumping and starting to fly as fast as he could back to the top. "Zecora?" He spoke as he appeared from beneath the branches.

Zecora was nervous for Enki, sending him back down below where the creatures of the jungle lurked. She at least was assuming that none of the dangerous creatures were lurking up here. At least she could see in the moonlight, though to think about it, perhaps the remnant embers of the fire would help him down there. "Enki..." she sighed a sigh of relief when he showed up, it had seemed like he had been gone for an eternity. Whether it had actually been a long time or not, she wasn't certain.

"Did you find dem?" Perhaps that was why it had taken so long, was it possible they had stolen. They had left the bags right next to the hammock... Zecora could recall exactly where they were. When she had confirmed that he had them she said, "Quick, pull out de lights."
PostPosted: Thu Oct 10, 2013 2:54 pm

Enki sat down and opened one of the bags and started to dig through it. It took him a moment before he pulled out his pocket lantern and handed it to Zecora. "Here...They fill these things up before giving them to us?" He asked as he stood up and swung the bags over his shoulder. "Hope there's something to sleep on in these huts...Today has been too long." he rubbed his eyes and yawned. There was only so much excitement he wanted in one day, at this day had enough to last him a year.

Zecora smiled softly at the male, they had been through so much today, she hoped it would be over once they found a place to lay. She hoped there was a place to lay. While Enki was searching for a lantern, Zecora was digging around for the matches. She pulled them out and quickly lit the lantern he had handed her, casting dramatic shadows on the treetop village. "Yes... it has been most long," she agreed sadly as she shone the lantern into the hut.

No skeletons. The place looked long abandoned. Things were skewed and thrown everywhere, but how recent or long ago this apparent ransacking took place, Zecora did not know. In one corner was a simple bed, material covered in a cloth sheet with holes in it, likely caused by bugs. That was all Zecora cared about now. It smelled musty and dusty in here, but it didn't matter. There was someplace to sleep, safe and sound now.
