Thankfully, he did find a place to rest, and he laid down for a long while, maybe an hour or so, before he felt he was able to continue on. He felt a bit better for it, and walked with new purpose. The purpose of leaving this place and going back home to sleep it all off in his lovely bed.
Bulbasaur had learned to be a bit more careful when entering these dungeon rooms, and he walked slowly, carefully, noticing that the rocks were changing color again. The deeper into the volcano he had gone, the darker and hotter they were. Now they were coming lighter, more grey and brown, and he hoped that meant he was getting closer to the exit.

He was. He could recognize the area now, and he knew he was just a few more turns from the outside world. How nice it would be to get out of the smoke heavy air and breath some clean, fresh oxygen! It would do his bulb wonders, and he was worried he was beginning to wilt.
Passing through a room he was sure he had been in before, he held his head up a bit higher and hoped that nothing else would attack him between here and the oh so few rooms that were between him and freedom. He knew his luck was not the best, but he could hold out hope. Too bad there was nothing wood to knock on, though, just in case.

Padding into a room very near to the exit, or entrance for those just taking on the adventure, Brynd stopped and looked down in surprise when his front leg kicked something cold. He realized it was another Vial of Water, which he was glad to find. Of course, he was just on his way out... but if he wanted to come back here, now he had the item that had so far protected him from the heavy and burning air that would have overwhelmed him a long time ago if he had come in without it.
padding into the next room, Brynd saw light spilling into the area from across the way. The door! The door was right there! He just needed to get across this last room and he would be home free! He was looking forward to it, and he was delighted as he sprang into the room, all but skipping and running his way toward it.

Right before he reached the door, Brynd saw another glistening bottle and reached out with his vine to pick it up. This one, however, was not filled with water, but smoke. Curious! He would have someone look at it when he got back to civilization. For now, though, he was too eager to pass through the door and into the sunshine outside to care about much else. So that was what he did, grinning the rather large distance between his ears as he did so.
