"Yes," Sasha answered Evan's question. "I am absolutely certain there are predators in the woods. Very likely they are predators that are not like anything we've ever seen before. The very shadows here are predators."
She stood beside Wash and kept her eyes locked on the near-dead creature.
"I want to go inside." Sasha glanced up at Wash, and then at Jerry. "You two first?"

Evan's retort got Jerry even more red-faced, grumbling under his breath until he nearly stumbled into Wash's shoulder as they stopped to consider the wounded rabbit.
He backed away quickly, straightening his glasses to peer over the other man's shoulder at the little creature. "Was it like... attacked by a raccoon?" he ventured with a nervous smile. At least they had a distraction from the previous line of conversation.

Wash frowned grimly. "A 'coon wouldn'ta left it alive." He approached the door cautiously, waving Jerry over. "Is it locked?" He asked, before jiggling the handle. It gave with only a slight squeal, and he leaned against the door jam, trying to make himself a small a target a possible as he shoved the door open flat-palmed.

Jerry followed after Wash, one hand on the whistle hanging from his neck nervously. It was just a rabbit. A randomly... maimed and in view rabbit. But... nothing to get too nervous over, right? "What do you see?" He urged the other man.

"A dead rabbit. Well, almost dead," he amended. He stepped forward cautiously, summoning Sally on his arm as an afterthought.
He prodded it with his boot, trying to get a better look at its injuries.
"See any signs of how it got in here?"

Jerry glanced around, wishing he had a proper flashlight, "I don't... see any blood trails or anything..." At least not that he noticed at first. Lizbot hey there any signs of how it got there?

The only visible blood was that which matted the rabbit's fur as its body shuddered one last time and stilled. Something glinted around its neck.

Wash knelt, careful of the still-warm blood staining the creature's fur. He tried to get a better look at what was wound around its neck.

"Ugg, careful. It could like. Have some sort of disease." Jerry grimaced, hovering over Wash's shoulder curiously.

The delicate silver chained was wrapped tightly, biting deeply into the rabbit's fur. A silver pendant hung from it, engraved with an oval overlaid by a cross.

Wash searched for the clasp with clumsy fingers. This was strange - strange and cruel. He'd hoped at the sight of silver it was Nona's totem, but then that would have been too easy.
"Recognize this?" He called to Sasha, holding the pendant in his palm where she could see.

Evan cautiously made his way into the cabin behind Sasha, sparing Wash, Jerry, and the poor, poor adorable little rabbit a glance before looking around the rest of the room. The door had been closed when they had gotten here, and the rabbit had to have gotten in somehow.
