Oh. Oh oh he left. Was it a he? She barely knew she was a she even. It just felt right. And wrong. And right. And right-wrong. Existence was a tumultuous creature and she was barely holding onto it's mane as it ran into the distance with her.
It made her feel kind of dumb just following what everybody else was doing (seemingly), but it was the best she could offer at that time. But she grabbed at a crystal and it just stayed out of reach.
She gave the other dark shape-y thing the saddest look she could have managed with so little to show for a face.

The next attempt proved a fruitless one, but at least she was still trying. The two orbs she'd managed to catch were like little balls of hope. Maybe they'd attract more if she kept trying...
She wandered further through the streets, looking for more orbs to try and snatch up.

The crystals seem to really like staying away or just being difficult to the both of them. Rubbing where he got hit before with one hand, the other went to grab the crystal floating above. Decyl plucks another, and stared at the figure he had accidentally grabbed before. If he could, he would grin sheepishly at the being, but that would require more features on what is supposed to be his face.

He didn't know enough yet to know that the surroundings ought to be familiar. He didn't know enough yet to know that dodging out of the rain and hiding in bus stops and crouching in the yawning doorways of empty buildings was old hat.
Maybe that was for the best. Those were painful memories, ones he didn't know he didn't want.
Some bright thing flitted, and he reached for it on instinct, and missed.

Now there were others around, doing the same. Rochiej frowned a bit at this. He wanted all of these things! Huffing up some, he just stormed to the next nearest crystal, only to miss in his attempt to pick this one up too. Slippery little things. He wanted to know the purpose of them. Well. Maybe they'd help him figure out what he was forgetting.

Part of the problem, probably, was that he kept thinking he didn't actually want to catch it, although he wasn't sure why.
It's easier this way, was the idea, but not one he could have shaped into words, or understood. He didn't know a thing.
Maybe that was why his snatching hands seemed so half-hearted.

With a sort of scowl, he continued to rummage around. Rochiej wanted as many of these crystals as he could muster. Finally, he managed to get his hands on one of these things. With a grin, he held it close, not wanting to lose it now that he had it.
"Voooiiiiiiiiiiii..."
What. The ********. Was that. That grin of his fell as he heard what sounded like a distant shout. Or roar. He wasn't sure what the hell that was, really.

His fingers close on a fragment, finally, but he barely registered the quiet echo it produced in his rush to huddle beneath a tattered awning.

Zauus arrived safely at the Ruins. The most important thing right now was to collect fragments for the Goddess. They resembled little pieces of soothing light. Before her, a piece sat. Reaching a hand out, her fingertips brushed it gently. A sound. It sounded like the laughter of young children. With another stretch, the fragment was safely cradled inside of her fingers. Another sound. Zauus was distracted by the warmth that the fragment sent throughout her body. She continued on to collect more in hopes of feeling the warmth once more.

Lanaom had found himself in a new area, the place covered in what looked to be the remains of a city. Buildings, or what was left of them, scattered the surface as he casually looked about before slowly taking a few steps in the area. There was the soft glow of hearts belong to others in the area, but... he saw no reason to go to them. He didn't know them, they didn't serve a purpose for him. He didn't even question that decision as instead his eyes fell on what many appeared to be chasing.
Pieces... bits of something? He couldn't be sure. He narrowed his eyes before shifting to move toward nearby, only to find the thing slip away from his fingers. Perhaps... this was a mystery he should look into?

She shrugged her shoulders sheepishly back at him after her own failed grab at a crystal. Clearly they were both bad at catching things because they really liked getting away. Maybe they were important.
Maybe she'd be wise to collect every single one if she could. Not that she was any good at catching them.

It felt good and right--for now--to disregard anything but the relief of something between himself and the rain, and the urge to chase after more gleaming things.
The idea that he might want to remember what he was hearing didn't occur to him. There was just the propulsion towards another catch, this time successful.

Other grey forms, with similar yellow glows also went around collecting the pieces of light. She decided to hurry in case they were all snatched up by the others.

A fragment! It resided high up, almost out of reach. Stepping carefully on the buildings around it, Zauus managed to tip the fragment and safely obtain it. The sound came back, this time slightly different. come back. Don't go there. Zauus sat down, admiring the warmth. It provided a tiny glimmer of security in the vast, rainy ruins.
