Aedan smiled as Siobhan came up to greet them, not noticing that Rhys hid in the snow. "Oh, it was the Knight Bus, not particularly good, not terrible." he said as he looked at his sister in law. But the moment the words were out of his mouth Sobhan commented that one of them was missing. He immediately turned, a bit scared. Rhys! he thought as he saw who was missing. He turned around rapidly, looking for the quiet boy. Then Prudence spoke, she found him in the snow. Aedan let out a sigh of relief, stepping closer. "Rhys, Merlin's beard, ya scared me. Come on out. I'll show ya the Library and get you some sweets, how does that sound? Get in the warmth?" he asked as he looked at the white haired boy. He then noticed the owl flying away, leaving a letter falling and landing on the snow covered ground. "What's that Siobhan?" he asked curiously. He did not wait for an answer before he swapped his attention to Rhys. He held out his hand to the boy.

Siobhan scowled every so slightly at Prudence basically pulling on the little boy's hair, but her humor leaked through. They'd only just met and they were already acting like cousins. Typical. She followed behind Aedan and scooped her daughter up, setting Prudence on her hip and smiling at the little boy. "There are plenty of warmer places to hide from us, mac dearthár. You'll find them all soon enough, I think." Her attention drifted as the owl approached. She watched it curiously, her questioning expression deepening when it deposited a letter at her feet and took off. She adjusted Prudence carefully and kneeled to retrieve the letter. Her lips pursed. "No idea. Let's get inside and we'll look at it. And feed the kids. We waited on lunch until you all got home, it's almost ready. There's a stew simmering." Siobhan made her way to the front door, setting Prudence down at on the porch, ruffling her hair gently. She was glad that the kids ages were ranged like they were; Kenneth could be friends with Jarlath and Devin, and Caty and Rhys were about Pru's age. There'd be no uncomfortable middle child, not really... Rhys seemed a bit anti-social, but she chalked it up to being nervous. She made her way into the house and to the kitchen smiling, waiting to open the letter until the others had joined her.

Fay smiled as she watched the children all interact. Fay turned her attention to an owl that had just fluttered in and deposited a letter to Siobhan before flying off. For sure all were curious about the contents. The kids, however, were priority at the moment and with the mention of a stew inside, Fay's stomach growled. She had smelled the stew before coming out, wafting through the house. It smelled delicious. As Siobhan turned and made her way back inside, Fay did as well. It was much warmer inside and the smell was divine. "I'm looking forward to the stew are you Prudence?" She was sure that the other children would like the stew as well. She took a seat and waited for the others to come in as well.

→Ciaran had a sense of deja vu as all the family poured out from the house and surrounded them and the children. It felt like the day Aedan brought him home only more people and generally more suspicious. He was shocked out of his thoughts by Siobhan's comment about a child missing and began looking around frantically for Rhys when he was, thankfully!, found by a misguided Pru. His husband went over to him to comfort and ease up his nervousness while he felt cold feel wrap their way around him and try to enter his jacket by a sleepily shy Caty. "C'mon then lets listen to our Auntie Siobhan and get warmed and fed. You too Kenny, don't think I haven't noticed." he shot a quick grin to the older boy following the mother into the house and kitchen before taking an seat and using his hands to rub all of Caty's hands and feet to warm her up. He was afraid to cast warming charms since he didn't know what age he should or shouldn't for children and didn't want to take any risks...gah he didn't know anything! How was he supposed to be a parent?! "Siobhan, when's it safe to cast charms on children?" Ciaran asked nervously. ←

Siobhan's expression grew puzzled at Ciaran's question. Charming children? Whatever did he mean? She set the envelop down her the table and ran her fingers across her lips, a habit from when she'd broken herself of biting her nails. Her other hand was resting on the envelope, her nails tapping the table. "What exactly do you mean, deartháir? As long as you're skilled enough and it's nothing permanent, it's perfectly safe regardless of age. Why?" Siobhan then recognized the look in his eyes. It had been one she'd seen often enough in Davin's to recognize, and one she knew she'd worn plenty of times. That look new parents got where they couldn't imagine how on Earth they were going to do well if they had to ask such a question. She offered him a gentle smile. "Ciaran, there's no need to look so panicked. You'll do fine. You're doing fine." She stood, figuring that she'd take a moment to check the stew and, upon seeing it was ready, levitated the pot onto the table, setting it gently on a large potholder. There were already bowls and spoons set out for the family, so it was simply up to each person to serve themselves... and their children. She poured bowls for her own children and handed the ladle to Ciaran, and proceeded to pour them all tea as well.

Prudence looked at the boy when he spoke. The snow was his hair. "Ooooooh. I'm sorry I never saw heir like snow. Its very pretty!" She said and then was picked up. She held on to her mother. "Yay food, I'm starving. We've been waiting forever." She said and looked to her aunt Fay "Yep I love stew."

Kenny looked up as he heard his name. He was not used to so many adults around him and he felt like he was being put under the microscope. Rhys had the right idea and tried to hide. He nodded a bit when he heard that they where heading inside.

Devin had been lost in thought in his room, almost unaware of the excitement going on downstairs. He was seated on the floor, with his back to his bed, a Teddy bear hugged closely to his chest. It had been a gift from his father when he had been much younger. The fur had lost its shine, one eye seemed to be a little more loose than the other, but it was well loved. A few more moments passed as he sort of rocked back and forth before his stomach grumbled in protest. He blinked, suddenly aware of the wafting smell of stew, and loud chatter from downstairs. He carefully placed the bear under his bed, wrapped up in a small blanket, before putting on a sweater and venturing downstairs.

He yawned, stretching before blinking in surprise at Caty, and the three extra bowls on the table. He looked over at his uncle, then back at the kid, then looking at his mom, tilting his head to the side. "Am I missing something Mum?" He asked, clearly confused, before sitting down at his place at the table. "Yum!" He said with a grin, grabbing his spoon and digging in without blowing on it. "Aaaaa, -ot." He said, opening his mouth and waving his hand to try and cool down the food in his mouth.

Siobhan gave her youngest son a smile, ruffling his hair a bit. "Your uncles brought home your cousins today. If you didn't spend so much time off in your own little world you might've heard us tell you that last night," she told him, her words a reprimand, but her voice light and amused. He reminded her so much of her late husband in some ways... his tendency to zone out being only one of them. He hadn't done it nearly as much when Davin had been alive, he'd been much more sociable and outgoing. Since his father's passing, he'd grown more introverted. Most of the time it was nothing, but there were occasions where it made his mother worry for him.

When he burned his mouth with the stew, Siobhan tsked him, still with that amused smile on her face.
"I just made your bowl a moment ago, dear, let it cool off a bit first." She glanced at Prudence, pointing her spoon at the girl, her eyes sparkling. "That goes for you as well, little miss. I know you're hungry but I don't want you all wandering around with burnt mouths." Unlike many parents, Siobhan wasn't likely to simply mend her children's mistakes with magic. She was of the firm belief that, while it was helpful, it was nothing but a tool, and should not be abused. Allowing them to suffer small indignities was a set up so that they could manage larger ones later in life. That way, if they came across a problem magic couldn't fix, they didn't panic. She glanced at Ciaran. "I do hope that Caty has better clothes than that for the winter, deartháir. You really should have bundled her up before taking her out in the cold." It was delivered softly, kindly, an easy word of advice to the younger man. Something for him to keep in mind. Of course, if the child didn't have proper clothes, Siobhan would be more than happy to go shopping... it was the holidays, after all, and what good were the holidays without presents?

                                                          She glanced at Devin.
"What is your brother up to, Devin? He needs to come meet his cousins." Siobhan knew that Jarlath was probably very happy to be home, but she felt like she still hadn't seen much of him, aside from at mealtimes. Other than Prudence, her children were very quiet, very introverted... which she didn't mind, but she would like to spend a bit more time with them.

Cathryn watched all the goings on, eyes wide. She had an excited smile when they headed inside, looking around at everything. When her new daddy started rubbing her fingers she smiled, the instant he touched her toes, the girl broke into a fit of giggles. It tickled so much! The man asked about charms, she tilted her head, still trying to keep her tootsies safe from his tickly fingers. She looked at all the people, then at the pot of what she presumed was soup. One boy, who she had yet to see, said the soup was hot, so she looked at him curiously. "Don let your tongue on fire. It might melt your tummy." She looked at the yellow-haired woman, a smile on her face. "I can pwlease has soup too?" She shivered again, then leaned all the way over to tug her socks off. The two year old wiggled her toes, a satisfied smile on her face. There. Now she could warm her little feet!

Rhys blinked at the girl, trying to figure out who exactly she was when she was picked up by her mum and carried off to get hot stew. Then one of the guys, he guessed it was his new dad (he didn't want a new dad!) said that the house had a library. He almost snorted. It kinda sounded like the guy was trying to bribe him to come in, but then again, it was cold outside, no matter how much he loved it. He could already feel that his pants and socks were soaked through, and it probably wouldn't be too long before his other clothes got soaked too. He could almost hear his mum now, telling him he needed to get inside before he died from pneumosomething. He couldn't remember the entire word, but it was worse than a cold. He bit his lip as he remembered his mum, her own hair the color of his own and always smiling at him, even when she was bone tired from working. Swallowing back another feeling of tears that threatened, he straightened up and looked around. His eyes alighted upon his book and wolf, and the tears he tried to keep back started. "M'book..." It was soaked from lying in the snow, as was his wolf, and suddenly he launched himself at Aedan, burying himself in the man's legs and sobbing. It was the last thing he had from his mum, and now it was ruined.

Devin smiled up at her, closing his mouth, chewing for a few moments before swallowing. "I forgot all about that! She is one of them, are the other two outside?" He asked, looking around the room. He picked up another spoonful of the stew, this time careful to blow on it before shoving it in his mouth. He was looking at the little girl, head slightly tilted. He didn't quite know what to make of her. When she spoke up, he chuckled. "That won't happen to me! Because…" He turned his head from side to side dramatically before leaning in, "I'm secretly a dragon." He said with a grin, before turning his attention back to what his mother had said.

"Dunno what he's up to. Barely see him 'cept around the table. Partly my own fault." He said with a shrug, eating the stew more quickly as it started to cool. His brother was a common sight to Devin, even after his departure to Hogwarts, but his cousins were completely new, and the focus of his attention. "Hey, how old are my other cousins?" He asked between mouthfuls of stew, looking over at his uncle.

Aedan stood in the snow, waiting for Rhys to take his hand and come inside. Yet what happened was unexpected. The boy was now clinging to his leg, sobbing. "Shh. It's okay Rhys. We can fix your book, and the wolf." He said as he leaned down and picked them up. With his free hand he gently took the boy up into his arm. These must be important. he thought as he looked at the boy then at the boom and wolf, now soaking his side. He started inside, carrying Rhys. Arriving in the kitchen he set the boy down at the table. "Siobhan, it seems the snow ruined Rhys' book and wolf, do you mind fixing them? Your much better at house hold charms than me." he said setting the book and stuffed animal on an empty section of counter.

He smiled at the group inside, a happy family, finally together. He took a bowl of Siobhan's stew and placed it in front of Rhys. "Eat up, then I'll show you kids around." he said as he set before Kenny a dish of soup. Before finally taking his own and sitting down.

Jarlath had once again gotten lost in his studies, he had not even heard the clock strike noon, when his uncles were supposed to arrive with his new cousins. A smudge of ink on his arm, he rushed down the stairs, stumbling slightly. He took a deep breath before pushing into the kitchen. "Sorry, I was doing an assignment on Hinkypunks." he said as he looked at his mother. Before he turned his gaze to the rest of the group. Two boys and a Girl? Just like us. he thought as he looked at the new kids. Sitting down at the table he smiled at them. "Hi, I'm Jarlath." he said to his new cousins. "I'm a first year at Hogwarts, so you won't be seeing me much except the holidays." he said as he took a bite of his soup.

Siobhan smiled at Aedan, and gave her youngest nephew a reassuring look. "Just let me look at them, they'll be good as new." She stood and walked to the counter, looking at the two objects. The bear wasn't really ruined, just soaked, and a little worn out, probably because it was old, not because of the little jaunt outside. Still, she could fix it up for the boy. Personal affects would make it feel more like home. The book, on the other hand... soaked as well, and the ink was running in some spots. But, it was an easy fix. She took out her wand and murmured a few quick charms to dry them off and repair the damage, and handed them to the child, simultaneously sitting a basket of fresh rolls on the tabletop as well. "Here you go, pet, no need to cry. Now, eat up. It'll make you feel better." Siobhan was of the firm belief that few things improved a mood better than a warm meal. She was a homemaker, after all. She was about to respond to Devin's question when she realized she didn't actually know. She looked to the two fathers for an answer. When Jarlath joined them, she smiled proudly. Working on homework over the break? He was such a good boy. She ruffled his hair a bit before sitting down at the table again and eating her own bowl of stew. She was rather hungry herself. She grabbed a roll and buttered it before dipping it in her stew and taking a bite. There were few things that tasted better than fresh bread.
