Team Purple Parrots
Team Members: Themiscyra + Valhalla

Valhalla grinned upon seeing both Myrkvior and Pharos, having briefly met both of them at different times in the past year. It was nice to see others he recognized. Themiscyra seemed to be up for working with the others, whether or not it was to get ice cream, and he wasn’t about to refuse to help, regardless of if they were on his team or not.

“What kind of key is it...?” he wondered, glancing towards the puppet with curiosity.

Somehow he didn’t think it was going to be easy getting this puppet to cooperate with them, especially since this was supposed to be a race to the finish...? Maybe all it was doing was distracting them until the other team got out.

He laughed softly at Themiscyra’s question about Myrkvior, shaking his head at her. “We’re both knights of Jupiter, if that’s what you’re asking. I’ve never gotten into the habit of lumping knights together by what they swore loyalty to in the past, though... Seems unfair when we’re all different and complement each other’s magic better the more diverse we are.

Despite their differences, he was pretty certain that he and Babylon of Mercury would have made a pretty tough team to beat, as well as Naica of Cosmos, despite what his best friend might say otherwise.

“This is Themiscyra, by the way... she’s new to all this,” he introduced, offering the opportunity for the other two to introduce themselves if they wanted.

((Sprained wrist makes heck to try and keep given time limits. stare anyways... on to the fun!))

The puppet's head moved, quite owlishly as if trying to locate where everyone was, or perhaps it could really see them? As it stopped on each one as they spoke. Creepy either way as it remained unblinking and listened to each of the questions.

"Ah yous gots some good questions!" The puppet seemed excited by this. "Lets answer last to first, I likes my answers backwards."

There was a chuckle, "The fastest path is the path which the key leads." The puppet held up his finger, "Though yous would hafta be willin' to make some short comings." There was a hum as the ice cream cart rocked a bit, "Tah be honest, yous see, I fixed me a shortcut in this maze. For I can't very well travel the whole road without worrying that my ice cream will melt. Its too hot." He finished. Though he never said where the short cut was.

The puppet then turned back to Val, "What kind of key? Welp, yous see, this key is nothing but a skeleton." The puppet laughed, "The door is very old fashioned, took me ages to get it to stand in this corn field."

Finally when the puppet turned to Themiscyra there was a wary laugh, "Wells for yous to get the key, yous have to play my game. If yous play my game and win yous get a key! If yous lose, well I'll still give yous ice cream."

He was looking back at Myrkvidr who hadn't asked anything yet, "Well... most of yous anyway...unless...." There the puppet left the word to hang in the air to see if the other would speak up.

Where Pharos was confused about the magical fours comment, she completely agreed with the idea to work together. She nodded practically bouncing and looking at the other two.

"Im sure they will not mind if we work together, as long as we try to come to agreements quickly so we aren't stuck in here all night. Bigger groups have a harder time with the agreement thing."

She however returned to confusion when Myrk started talking about the key being a skeleton. "You dont mean like an actual skeleton, because I don't think thats what he means. Most skeleton keys are like um master keys of sorts right," she said nodding, "but anyway not really as important right now as getting the key."

She turned to the puppet excited, "what she said, lets play."

Oh joy.

Myrkviðr looked long and hard at the puppet as if waiting for it to change its mind. Unfortunately, it seemed it was the night before christmas: Nothing stirred, nothing moved, not even a mouse.

Shrugging at the other three people in the group, Myrkviðr ambled over to the basket in the corn stalks. She picked up two, handing one to Pharos as she passed her by. Sticking her hands into the ice-box wouldn't be that cold, but it probably had all sorts of sanitary issues attached.

The brunette bobbed the end of her pole, watching the magnet sway to and fro with the motion. She eyed the cart and the fish. It was probably rigged.

She dropped the magnet down into the cart anyway and plucked out a fish.

No match.

Second fish.

No match.

"What happens if no one gets a matching fish?" she skeptically asked the puppet before passing her pole to the nearest of the Purple Parrots.

Valhalla had crossed his arms as the puppet moved, not bothering to try and figure out the mechanics since he was sure this was all just a part of the game. It was just a puppet, after all, and unless there was some kind of magic he had yet to learn about, it didn’t phase him much.

There was a moment in which he bit back his amusement of having a door somewhere inside a corn field, when, if necessary, pushing through the corn was an option. Then again, he was pretty sure there were people who would freak out if they did that and Valhalla’s partial grin settled back down to a thoughtful look.

“Seems kind of elaborate for a corn maze,” he commented, glancing to Themiscyra with raised eyebrows. There were times in which Valhalla would have taken the maze as a challenge and would refuse to stop until he’d made it through, but upon being paired up with Themiscyra, he knew there were more important things than just winning a game. Hopefully now she had a bit more understanding as to what she’d gotten into.

The fishing poles had his grin back, and he even laughed at their strange obstacle. He watched as both Myrkvior and Pharos had their turns, before trying for himself. After both attempts and no “big fish” he handed the pole off to Themiscyra. “Are you sure the magnet is strong enough?” he wondered out loud.

With all the introductions, Themiscyra grinned and waved to Pharos and Myrkviðr, taking in their names and the symbols that adorned them with interest. Never mind their apparent behaviors. Her opinion of her fellow knights thus far was... well, positive. As the game began, and the others took their turns fishing with magnets, Themiscyra hung back a moment. Found herself admiring the fact this felt more like a regular--if albeit strange--outing with classmates or something as opposed to... er.

Something out of a comic book.

Stark contrast to what she'd been feeling but minutes prior. Her arms crossed under her chest, and legs crossed at the knees as she watched. It was sort of amazing how much work had gone into this maze. All this, to get a key, to get out of the maze... and if they hadn't chosen to go up against the puppet? Wander around aimlessly? Though if the key's shortcut was the only real way out--

She didn't miss Valhalla's mumble or glance her way. In fact they'd served perfect to jumble up her train of thought and had a rapidly blinking Themiscyra staring back at the Jupiter Knight for a moment. She returned the look as her brain caught up with the situation, brows raising and eyes widening as her shoulders shrugged slightly. "People have a lot of time on their hands in this... war, I guess?" Whatever lesson Valhalla had hoped she'd learned, went right on over her dense skull.

Taking the pole from him, she shot the puppet a pout--pursed lips, hunched shoulders, and narrowed eyes, the whole nine-yards--before she punched her fist into her palm. After moving the pole into the crook of her arm, anyways. Her expression shifted, turning into a mocking smirk. Her voice held nothing but laughter as she jeered back, "Keep talking too much smack, and I've got no issue showing you some Martian fire." She glanced towards the cart significantly. Risk frost bite her a**. If they really couldn't fish the key out, she'd just go diving for it. See who was really pulling the puppet's strings.

For the moment though, she shifted the pole back into her hand, and like the other three before her... plunked the magnet right on in. Once. Blank. Twice. Blank. Thrice. Blank. And the magical fourth attempt~!

...zip.

"Well that was anticlimactic," she grumbled, leaning back on her heels with arms re-crossed and lips re-pursed. Her threat still stood, she guessed. Shrugging and flicking her smile back into place--no reason to dwell over a failure, after all--she looked back to the others. "Who's next?"

Valhalla shrugged lightly at Themiscyra’s response to his grumble, not really in a bad mood, but not liking to be caught up with too many more people. He seemed to do better away from crowds for some reason, and while he had nothing against the three women, he was unsure of what to think of the strange puppet.

He tried not to grimace at the puppet’s crude, strange accent, or at his stranger jokes. It was just a game after all, but there didn’t seem to be much of a point.

No, he knew better than to get cranky about something like that… Maybe he was just hungry… That was most likely the issue.

“Here, I’ll try again,” he offered, taking the pole and trying once more… Only to get nothing that time as well…

“Are you sure there’s even anything in there?” he wondered, eyebrow raised as he passed the pole to someone else.
