Ah . . . So Nevada hadn't given out a name. Excellent.
Stormy continued to smile at Evan, but did not quite answer at first. She waited instead and watched, her hands behind her back, as Nevada dropped a quick word to Roland and got their food and left, and as Heidi dooed over Tuck. Only once her bestie had left the room did she speak.
"If it's a small island, then you'll figure it out. You're smart guys, right~?"
She ghosted over to snatch up a cookie, leaning against the table. "Unless you guys like cheating the game. Then I can help you. 'Cause see, games means you have to play nice and not look like you're going to stomp over to a certain boy and bark at him like he's evil incarnate.
"But that's not here or there, because I'm way more interested in hearing about who you guys did or did not go with," Stormy continued, tennis-balling her eyes between the three. "Like a certain moon's twin~ You were saying something too, Heidi?"
Meanwhile Medi felt bad because Stormy was pretty much ignoring Roland and Peyton and Mimsy while this issue raged.

There was no good answer to Heidi's question, except to blurt out that she had made a gross miscalculation about the facade she'd presented in tandem with the sweets. Mimsy was at least clever enough to know better than to do that, so she just ignored the question entirely. When in doubt.
She did acknowledge Stormy, however, giving her a halfhearted wave - just enough to look polite. There was no way to judge how much they would put up with from her compared to their desire for cake.
The rest of the interactions, as awkward as they were, went completely unnoticed, until Tuck began to choke on a cookie.
"That is not my fault," she insisted, though the words were not very audible through the rest of the commotion.
<'Oooh, not true, not true! You're killing the Green one! Killing him all the time!'> Svensyl sang. He'd meant it in jest, but did provide her with enough perspective to realize that only one of the two endangered associates was partnered with Song.
Thankfully, Heidi was attending to the more personal portion of helping him. She did her part by nudging her pitcher of water towards them with the end of her pen.

Tuck shot Mimsy a grateful look and downed a cup of water before slamming the cup down. He watched Nevada leave with an odd expression on his face - an incredible frustration mixed with something a little harsher, but difficult to place. Once she'd completely left the room, Tuck wandered over to stand next to Heidi, loosely wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
"This is Heidi, an' she's my girl." He shrugged, though a volatile irritation tinged his features. "An' you can't blame us for feelin' protective, Stormygirl. We're your brothers, remember. S'our job to look out for you."
Tuck shifted on his feet.
"Nevada told me that this dude is a gentleman. I'ma believe her. Evan's gonna do whatever he wants, but I trust Nevada, an' I trust you."
He took a second to hug Heidi closer before releasing her.
"I gotta run. Was kinna in the middle of laundry when I saw the tweet."

While nobody was watching, Mimsy made a face that would have properly conveyed the ha, you were wrong, loser that she wanted to show Svensyl, if only he could see it. She returned to quietly eavesdropping on the nearby conversations just in time to hear Tuck claim that he was in the middle of laundry.
Her nose scrunched up as she made a puzzled expression.
Was that meant to be sarcastic? Deus had a laundry service, didn't it? What other explanation was there for her clothes being cleaned and folded on a very regular basis?

Ohhh. Boyfriend troubles? Kind of? Heidi winced. She was so glad she didn't have issues like that.
Wait. What.
Heidi blushed as Stormy turned her attention on her again. Right, she was about to say she was Tuck's girlfriend. It was just kind of weird to have someone ask her like that. But luckily Tuck took over, giving her a slight hug and claiming her as his girl. She beamed up at him, raising a hand to hold the one on her shoulder. "Makes me glad my brother's not around. He would have a field day with this."
She made a happy little noise as he hugged her, though she looked surprised and fairly disappointed by his announcement. "Aw, but.." Wait..that...was a strange look on his face.
Tuck was usually so boisterous and sociable. Was something bothering him? "..Okay..." Heidi pursed her lips a moment. "I'll just...grab some snacks here and come find you after, 'kay?" Something was bothering him.

Lavender grey eyes widened just a touch as Ro's recount of his Promotion mission, and she nodded her head after, lips pursed. "Nice. That's an interesting mission, but congratulations on doing so well on it." Ro's promotion, along with that shiny new jacket, had the small trainee itching to progress herself. She blinked though as the taller hunter seemed to turn down her offer for a rematch, and pale brows pinched at the mention of danger. "Well there's always a chance at danger, isn't there? I mean," she snorted, features twisting incredulously. "We're beating on each other with weapons, accidents happen." Like the time she gave Tuck stitches. The look she was giving him was one that suggested he best be out with whatever sissy a** reason he had for not wanting to fight her, though it momentarily shifted to a smile as Nevada gave her a wave before heading to the door. She returned, then went right back to staring up at Roland.

"From what I hear, most trainee missions are interesting to say the least. But from here on out the work gets a bit more serious and the solo missions become a bit more like uh well the boat job was just had."
Bugs, monsters, potential death and drowning. Nothing like stealing furniture from Ikea.
"Well it's a danger, yeah, but if it's something I can't control the release of then it's really a danger. I don't need my weapon ripping someone to shreads just because it has enough fear to do so and suddenly does."

Tuck merely nodded at Heidi and pressed an absentminded kiss to her temple before giving Evan a 'bro-nod'. Stormy received a gentle smile and a half-hearted thumbs up, and Tuck snatched up one last cookie before giving Mimsy a smile.
Then he ******** high-tailed it back to his room, escaping any questions that Stormy or anyone else might have had for him.

It was the smell that actually had Robert drifting, almost off the ground, towards the cookies. The smell reminded him of something, some vague, almost forgotten memory that he couldn't quite snatch back. But the smell remained, and it led him in like a pig to slaughter. Or, maybe a less horrifying metaphor like a moth to the flame. He burst in the door and stopped, just long enough to not inhale the cookies, because something distracted him. It was the fact that Mimsy was there, and from what he could tell, she was the one who'd baked them. Mimsy. Mimsy. Robert's eyes started to tear up. "MY MIMSY'S BETTER CROCKERING!" It was literally the best thing he could have seen. It meant Mimsy was getting softer, not harder. He was doing a good job.

Heidi watched Tuck leave with a worried look, eating a cookie for herself. She would give him a few minutes head start before she checked on him. Something was wrong, he wasn't just leaving because he had laundry to do. That excuse was just lame, Tuck. Worry became a blank stare straight ahead when she heard a familiar voice. Is he wearing clothes this time?Matilda chuckled. I cannot see him.Heidi chanced a glance over her shoulder at Robert and immediately relaxed, giving a sigh of relief and grabbing a nearby plate to put her cookies on. Se also grabbed a few more fr Tuck. "Hi, Robert," Heidi hoped his name really was Robert and the other hunters that day hadn't just been messing with her. "Did you ever find your dinosaur?" Honestly she was just relieved he was wearing clothes.

"I am doing what?" Mimsy asked, setting her report down on the table. Crockering? Was this some sort of slang for 'baking'? Each new interaction made it very clear that she should have researched the positive social repercussions of baked goods...or how to pretend you did this all the time, at least. She wondered if it really would have been better to claim that they were part of some sort of testing phase. That was something they would unquestionably pet her for, presumably. She was so distracted by her potential shortcomings that it took her quite a while to realize how he'd referred to her. Eyeing him with narrowed eyes, she struggled to find any reason he would use that term of possession, but ultimately came up short. Every time she thought she understood something about him, he completely changed the game. "Your...I'm your Mimsy," she slowly repeated, carefully enunciating each word so he could clarify which part she misheard. Because she definitely had to have misheard that.

"HeiDEEEEEEEE," Robert drawled out, mussing her hair as much as possible. "How you doin', cutiepants? Yeah I found my dino. Someone ******** unstuffed it and left the skin out for me to find. Who the hell would DO that? But it's cool, 'cause now I can wear it like a costume? Sooo I've got a costume for Halloween. Sa-weeet." He stole one of the cookies off of Heidi's plate, and wandered up to Mimsy, who looked about as confused as he did whenever she opened her mouth. The following was spoken in a voice that even a grown man could manage when talking to something so adorable and precious, it could only be one of four things. A beloved car, a baby, a dog, or a precious little sister. "Damn right you're my Mimsy, whosmywiddle Mimsy, yes you is! Yes you is!" Was he snuggling his cheek against hers? Little bit.

Heidi laughed and swatted at Robert's hand as the large man ruffled up her hair. She didn't bother fixing it yet, it was just hair. But Heidi did look somewhat horrified by the description of his mutilated dinosaur. They..ripped it out? And then just left the skin out. That was some mafia crap right there, dude. "Well at least there's that." That was a really big dinosaur. Geeze.
When he stole one of her cookies she whined in protest. Noooo! Her cookies!
Fine. She replaced it with a too-big slice of cake. Take that.

"All right, see ya . . ." Well okay, Tuck, be like that. Don't play her game. Stormy was very grateful for your acceptance of Nameless Boy, really, but she did feel a stab of guilt as the moon hunter wandered off. They'd have an actual talk later, she decided, assuming she didn't make more messes.
Because clearly those had been her fault, right?
"We should hang sometime," she called airily after Heidi. "It's only fair since you're dating my brother and all~" Wow, she never thought she'd ever say those words.
Snagging a cookie (because no sweet tooth or not, she was hungry), Stormy strode over to Roland and Peyton, a little guilty over ignoring them as well. Besides, she ought to at least talk to her fellow Mist more! "Couldn't help but overhear a bit about weapons and lots of Fear," she chirped between nibbles. "I'm guessing you guys have a little bit of trouble handling charges too?"

Somewhere in his house Gale got the strangest feeling someone was talking about him.
Then he shrugged and went back to whatever he was doing.
