Rishima smiled at the Alkidike woman before turning to look over at Gerraden who looked like he was pouting a bit over the fact that he was given the order to go and help his father to gather supplies for dinner. He felt a little guilty that he was going to be staying behind while Gerraden had to go and do some chores. He supposed that since he was a guest it should be alright, right? Maybe he was just used to working so hard to please his sisters and earn their praise he thought to himself. He watched as Bosh seemed to pacify her son easily, sending him off to do as he was told. He couldn't help but to chuckle a little as he was rushing out the door with his father left to follow in his wake. He really was an excitable one, wasn't he?

Smiling he turned his attention back to Bosh and gave her a smile, "I have to say that I am unsure, I haven't had tea before. I would like to try some though." He didn't really mind trying something new, tea especially, since it was something that he'd at least heard of before but hadn't had a chance to try. He turned to rest his spear against the wall before he walked over to the chair indicated by Bosh, settling down onto it, hands resting on his lap. It felt a little odd to be doing nothing. In fact it had his antennae twitching, fingers tapping against his legs lightly. He felt as though he should be helping, "Is there anything that I can help with?" He asked of his sister, not wanting to just sit about if she could use his help with anything.

The older woman nodded her head, readied a pot that was held over an open flame and then returned to regular preparations for making dinner plus one. As she reached for a knife with one hand and then a basket that contained some strange root vegetables she spoke again.

"Its a bit bitter in flavor..the shifters introduced it to me. It helps steady your nerves." She explained as she went about cutting out any imperfections in the vegetable before skinning it and cutting it into pieces.

"You will have to forgive my son, he gets...very passionate about...well everything. I admire him for it but...he needs to learn there is a time and place." Bo'shi continued as she slowly went about prepping food.

"Tell me about yourself Rishima, how did you end up meeting my son?"

***

Outside Gerraden however was rushing around trying to get all the chores done as quickly as possible. Of course he would then mess it up and his father Tailow would have to stop him and make him redo it.

"Gerradan...I know you seem to really like this boy..." Tailow began as his son had been rambling ever since they got outside about how wonderful Rishima was and how happy they were going to be. It made it sound like he had already proposed to marry him!

"But you need to slow down...after all he is older than you..."

"I know but he is just ...PERFECT. I mean he isn't even seeing anyone right now so how can I just ignore my feelings?" the half breed was trying to bundle up some wood to help with making dinner..but the knot seemed to be failing him by undoing itself..often.

Rishima watched as the Bosh made easily work of the vegetables while explaining what tea was like to him, something that actually sounded interesting. A drink that would help steady ones nerves? Now that was something that he could probably use a lot of he thought to himself, antennae twitching. A relaxing drink would be great, though he would need to figure out how to brew it up himself, perhaps he could watch the way Bosh made it and ask her about what ingredients were used in it he thought to himself.

"Hm? Oh, yes, I have noticed that. He seems to be quite enthusiastic about things when he puts his mind to them." Though some things might be a little more dangerous then others he thought to himself, glad that he was able to dissuade him from heading to the Chibale Isles, not a place he wanted to go without a plan after all. Especially given that when it came time for Rishima to go there he'd already gotten rank within the tribe as well as an escort in Jerarda, and then on top of all of that he'd done work for one of their more important sisters while he was there. At the mention of how Gerraden had to learn there was a time and a place his cheeks colored a little and he nodded. All the hand holding, personal space invasion, and Gerraden tackling him had him agreeing wholeheartedly with that idea though he kept the thoughts to himself, not wanting Bosh to know that Gerr had done such things.

"How? Oh, I was leaving the Chibale Isles in search of one of my sisters when I ran into him." He explained, glancing in the way that Gerraden had gone and then back again, "He seemed curious about the place but meeting me seemed to distracted him from that."

The older woman chewed her lower lip after hearing Rishima's description of her son. There was part of her that wondered if she should further warn the man about her son's....personality. Not only was he enthusiastic but a rather pig headed when he wanted something, and by all counts...it was very obvious at least to her that what her son wanted...was this man's affections.

There were several things that may be good to investigate about this man...after all he was older than her son, but he seemed to be a nice boy.

"Yes...but don't let him get carried away...sometimes he can't take a hint you must be blunt about things." She warned him , after all it was the decent thing to do. Returning to what she was doing she prepared the pot and then got out two cups. Moving over she sat them in front of the young man listening as he explained he was looking for a sister. It took a moment for her to realized what he meant, it had been so long since she been with her own sisters..

"Oh? I havn't seen any full bloods here in a long time besides myself. Though tell me...does your own mother live close by?"

***

Back outside Tailow was having issues getting his boy see to reason, without being...well horrendously realistic. The boy he had brought home was not only older than Gerraden but seemed quite oblivious to his sons...keen interest.

"Gerr...I just don't want you to get hurt....what if he doesn't ..you know feel the same way as you do?" He inquired slowly trying to slow their progress down by dropping wood on occasion and having to pick it back up.

"Daaaaad, come on! I am sure Rishima will come to understand my feelings and accept them whole heartedly in time."

Rishima gave a nod of his head, "I will do what I can to keep him in line then when he gets to overly enthusiastic." Already he'd seen signs of that with Gerraden's desire to get onto the island so badly. It was likely a good idea that he keep an eye on him so that he could keep him from charging off into danger. The last thing that he wanted was to see the kid get hurt just because he didn't spend enough time thinking before he did something. Given that his parents seemed like good people that was just all that much more reason why he should see to it that the boy was taken care of he told himself, "Gerraden seems like a good enough young man so I will be sure that he doesn't get hurt while I am around." He told his sister, not wanting her to worry. He'd do his best by Gerraden.

"Yes, mother and I live in a small group nearby. She was called to the Chibale Isles recently though, she is a powerful warrior so the seem to bring her in from time to time when such power is needed." He explained, glad that he was actually being treated the same by some of the elders these days. That he was even given the important task that he'd been given, the same one he'd finished not long ago, pleased Rishima. Of course after all of that travel he was a little exhausted. Still, he'd agreed to this visit and he wouldn't excuse himself early just because he was a little tired.

Giving Bosh a smile he added in, "If you like I can see about having her come meet with you sometime. I don't know if she would agree to meet here because... ahh..." He paused then awkwardly waved his hand, "Umm, but she might still wish to meet with you since you are a fellow sister." Due to her past love his mother couldn't dislike the Shifters completely after all, if she did surely she wouldn't have raised him herself. As such he felt that she might actually enjoy talking to Bosh since they had much in common.

Bo'shi didn't need to press for details with it came to Rishima's mother, there could be any numerous reasons why she wouldn't want to come visit a shifter village sometimes she wished they could move further away, though her husband liked sticking close for whatever reason she couldn't fathom.

Moving she went to pour RIshima some of the tea she had promised him. It was a natural energizer, perhaps she was hoping to give Rishima a bit of an edge over her son who would probably chase him down if he tried to leave any time soon.

"I can always go meet with your mother, what is her name? That way if I won't be so rude when I meet with her." Bo'shi continued as she then went about pouring herself some tea as well. It wouldn't be long before her son and Tailow would be back, after all the man couldn't only prolong getting branches for a fire for so long.

***

Tailow felt himself want to curse and held it back, Gerraden just didn't get it. You couldn't just force your feelings upon a person and then expect that they would instantly reciprocate it.

"Your not going to do anything stupid are you?" He asked finally as he straightened and basically positioned himself in line of sight of the door back to their home.

Gerraden who had by now such a large stack of branches he could barely see over them looked at his father as if confused.

"Stupid? In what way? I love Rishima, how can that be called stupid?"

Tailow tried not to roll his eyes, "Think of it this way...Rishima..is older than you and will be I gather much harder to impress than a flash of your smile. Don't be TOO forward with him...he may not like that and will leave."

Rishima gave a smile as the tea was handed to him, "Thank you, sister." He said, holding the cup for a moment in his hands, starring into the dark liquid, before he lifted it up to breath in the scent. It smelled really good, helping to perk him up a bit before he took a sip from the cup. It was much different from what he was used to but he had to admit that he rather liked the taste of it. It was strong but it was really good, something he would love to learn to brew himself. He was glad that it was helping to wake him up some as well, feeling that it would be a bit rude of him to nod off while he was visiting with others. Once he was done here he'd see about finding himself a high perch somewhere to nap in. For now he needed to stay away and on guard, not that he really felt there was any danger to be had here, but just as a precaution.

"Hm? Mother's name... wow, it's so odd to actually say it instead of just calling her 'Mother' but its Alosia." He told Bosh, wondering if maybe the two of them knew each other in the past. It would be interesting, especially given their common taste in husbands, though it was a thought he pushed aside. No reason to think too hard on that he told himself, especially given despite his searching he'd yet to find the man. Not like he was giving up but he had hit a snag was all. Giving Bosh a smile he added, "I will be sure to tell her about you when next I see her." Likely when he returned to the Chibale Isles to check there again for Jerarda. Surely his sister had to be somewhere after all. Not to mention that he had to pick up Itzal sooner then later, though last he saw him the Radaku was resting peacefully while being spoiled by the Younglings. It should be alright to stay put for a while longer he reassured himself before taking another sip of the tea.

Bo'shi didn't really get time to reply to Rishima's comment as the door to their home burst open, it was obvious that Tailow and Gerraden were in the midst of a heated argument, which was off for Gerraden as he was the type who liked to get along with everyone. Perhaps though it was different when it came to family members...fathers especially.

"Oh...Tailow...I see you got the wood." Bo'shi started seeing the rather meager amount of fire wood her husband had in his hands compared to her sons.

Gerraden broke off mid sentence with his dad to then turn to his mother, his eyes lighting up again when they then strayed to Rishima. Time to make things enjoyable! No more arguing with his silly father. Everything would be alright he just knew it!

"I made up for dad's share mom." He announced in a jovial tone, placing his share of the wood near the hearth before he immediately moved over to RIshima, pulling up a chair so he could be as close as possible to him.

Both his parents gave a look that tried not to look worried before continuing without a beat.

"You like meat yes Rishima?" Bo'shi inquired as the youth today were getting picky..eating only plant material...wasn't right. But it was nice of her to ask wasn't it?

"So Rishima you like it here?"Gerraden asked almost immediately afterwards.

Rishima looked up from the tea as the door opened up, revealing Gerraden and his father. The two seemed to be engrossed in a rather heated conversation though what they were chatting about he could only guess. The slightest of smiles appeared on his lips when Bosh set to teasing her husband about the amount of firewood he'd gathered compared to what Gerr had. It was a smile he hid behind his cup though so as not to appear rude. As though by magic though it seemed the Gerr had dropped off the firewood and was suddenly sitting next to him by the time he lowered his cup, something that caused him to nearly choke on the tea in his mouth.

Once he was able to keep from inhaling it, instead swallowing it down normally, he turned to stare at Gerraden as he sat so close, giving him a smile. The guy was a bit like a puppy, wasn't he? A really enthusiastic one who had perhaps gotten into far too many sugary treats... but still, at least he was friendly he thought to himself, "It was kind of you to help out your father like that, Gerraden." It was good to see that he had a good work ethic, it would help him in the future, especially if he wanted to get strong enough to perhaps be accepted by some of their sisters. One had to work hard to do so after all and perhaps under all of his puppy like behavior Gerraden had it in him.

Turning to look over at Bosh once more he gave a nod, "Ahh, yes. Meat and fish both, I have found they are both quite good, especially during long journies." While there might be those out there who were more picky about their diets he'd learned that when one was traveling from Jauhar to Zena or Jauhair to Sauti and back there was no room for picky eating. Instead one needed to eat whatever would keep their energy up.

His attention was then pulled over to Gerraden and he gave him a smile, saying, "Oh yes, it's been very nice talking with your mother, and your home is very comfortable and welcoming. I am glad that you invited me, Gerraden."

It was obvious that both parents weren't entirely sure it was safe to leave Rishima and Gerraden alone together as neither of them wanted to leave the vicinity of the room.

"That is good to hear, we have some fresh meat in the pantry...why don't you go get it Gerraden?" Bo'shi tried to sway her son into helping out more as ...well he had already managed to re-stick himself to the older hybrids side. The look she got however was like she had just kicked her son in the privates as he gave a lingering look to Rishima before sighing and standing back up.

"Alright, was it the meat we just got this morning you are thinking of?" He inquired, and though annoyed he had to get up and move away from Rishima he wasn't the type who would throw a fit about being asked to do chores. He respected his parents, both of them. But there was no lie if he was asked who was the matriarch of the family. His mother definitely wore the pants in the family.

"Be right back." Gerraden winked to Rishima as he moved off towards the pantry. A subtle sigh escaping both mother and father as he went with little protest.

Tailow too it upon himself to now take charge of the conversation, leaving his wife to eye roll at him and go about preparing the rest of the evening meal.

"So Rishima right? I notice you carry a pretty impressive spear. Have you wielded it in battle?" He inquired, leave it up to a man to discuss weaponry at the dinner table...though Tailow was actually just trying to learn more about Rishima as any protective father figure may do.

As Gerraden hopped up to go and fetch more things at the behest of his mother it seemed to cement the puppy idea into Rishima's head all that much more. He really was good at going to get things for people, wasn't he? Good natured about it as well, he didn't really put up too much of a fuss even though he'd just sat down. He gave him a smile and a nod when he said that he'd be right back before turning to look over at Tailow as the man started to ask him question that pertained to the weapon that was leaning against the wall near to the door.

"That particular spear, no." He said as he turned back to Tailow, "It was actually just granted to me along with a rise in the ranks. I've yet to practice with it, though I really should do so soon." The last part was mostly said to himself, as though reminding himself of the many things that he still had to do. He didn't want to rush though, he wanted to enjoy this visit because it was a bit of downtime after his rushed journey to and from Sauti that Eshe had sent him on. That he was so lucky as to meet Gerr and get invited here, it was a blessing from Aisha, she wanted him to rest for a time and with someone who was like him.

Giving a smile he added, "Once my find my dear sister, Jerarda, I will likely end up in training again. She tends to make sure that I don't sit idle." He added with a bit of a laugh, sure that Jerarda wouldn't want him slacking off. Once he was rested up the search for her would be back on.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 27, 2013 9:40 am

In the pantry Gerraden searched for the package of salted meat they had just acquired this morning. At least his father had, her had been out exploring and on the beach discovering the love of his life there. So where did his father put it?

***

Bo'shi was listening to Rishima's talk and her head tilted slightly to look at the spear before returning to what she was doing. She looked a bit wistful as if she didn't expect that her son would follow in Rishima's sensible foot steps and take up a traditional weapon of her people. Though she stiffened slightly at the name 'Jerarda'. Blinking a bunch as she half turned to look over her shoulder at him.

Jerarda? ....was ..making sure he wasn't idle? This must be a different sister than she was thinking of, since the Jerarda she recalled was a rather spirited and hot headed child who liked to get into a lot of trouble.

"This sister of yours sounds like she really cares for you." Tailow continued as he eye'd the spear another moment before returning to look at Rishima. "Have you two been together long?" Though he wasn't trying to sound noisy he just didn't want his son to get his hopes up too high.

***

The meat was not in any of the obvious places to be found...it really was bizarre but where could his father of put it? Maybe in the cellar? Exiting the pantry and went around a corner, tossing another wink in Rishima's direction before heading that way.

Rishima's antennae gave a happy little twitch and he nodded, "She does, she is my most precious sister." He said, giving a happy smile. There was nobody amongst the tribe, save for his mother of course, that he loved more then Jerarda. She was the one that looked at him and didn't just see a halfbreed smaller then herself but instead saw a fellow Alkidike and helped him to become just that. Not to mention that unlike the others he hadn't had to prove himself to her first before he was able to finally stand alongside her. No, she was always kind to him, something that had always made him happy.

"Together long? Yeah, for a while now, since we were both prentices in fact." He told Tailow, oblivious to what the man was assuming. He thought that the man was referring to how long the two of them had been traveling and training together, "We have had many adventures together, first a long one to Zena and then another one to the Chibale Isles, it was all quite amazing." He said, smiling brightly at the thought. While he wasn't sure when he would be going on another long adventure, especially after his solo trip to Sauti, he did so enjoy traveling. He would rather at least get a little rest before he went on another trip though.

Turning away from the older pair he glanced over at Gerraden as he walked by, leaving the pantry to continue his search for the meat. It was odd to him, had it been misplaced? Were he more awake and perky he might offer to help with gathering fish for dinner but he'd given Gerraden more time to find what he was sent after. When the other gave him a wink his antennae twitched again before he turned back to Bosh and Tailow once more.

Both parents were listening to his story rather intently, after all the didn't want their son to set unrealistic goals and especially not ones for a man who may or may not be already taken . So they would make casual conversation for now.

"Oh? You traveled all the way to Zena? What for?" Tailow asked quite oblivious to the fact he had been summoned as well to go on that venue, but his son was so young then...he felt too guilty to leave his family despite the fact that Bo'shi would of been just fine with out him.

Bo'sh was surprised to discover that Rishima had been to the isles. Now..he had been accompanied by another sister and perhaps that was what granted him safe passage there but...flickering her gaze to where Gerraden had gone she looked back to Rishima.

"So you've met the elders? They must of been quite impressed with you ..you are a warrior now?" She inquired softly wondering if perhaps it would be a good idea if she took Gerraden sooner rather than later to meet his fellow sisters...she just..couldn't help but worry. After all Gerraden wanted to prove he was better being a hybrid and she wasn't exactly sure how well that would sit with her elders. Especially if he didn't choose a traditional weapon.

***

Going down to the cellar he found it dark and a bit musty but soon he was proudly able to find the location of the salted meat. Like a man who just found a precious stone he hurried back upstairs to the main floor and back into the kitchen.

"Found it! Why did you have it moved to the cellar? That's where the vegetables are...not meat." He scolded his father as he knew it couldn't of been his mother who had done that.

Looking back to Rishima he passed the meat off to his mother before he quickly sat beside the hybrid again. He was very close and both his parents seemed to be staring at them.

Tailow coughed, "Rishima was just about to tell us about his travels with Jerarda to Zena. Weren't you?"

"Why? Ahh... huh. You know that is actually a rather good question, I never did figure out exactly what it was that we were looking for." He mused, wondering if it were all just due to the Alkidike wanting to get a lay of the land, of those who lived in it, to see if perhaps it was worth conquering? He couldn't say for certain what the elders had been doing when nobody was around after all nor could he guess what it was that they were thinking, "We ended up traveling with others thought, quite a few of them, so it made it a rather strange and interesting sort of journey."

Turning to look over at Bosh he gave a nod of his head, "I have met with our sisters Yansa and Eshe, both of whom were eager to test my resolve and were actually the ones who gave me rank in the tribe." Or at least a rise in rank as far as Eshe was concerned he thought to himself before he turned to look over at Gerraden when he made another appearance. It would appear as though he had found the meat that he was looking for, it had merely been misplaced. Rishima gave a bit of a smile at the way that he scolded his father, finding himself a touch envious of their relationship, before he found all attention on him when Tailow mentioned that he was going to tell them about his travels with Jerarda to Zena. Was he? Ahh... well, he supposed if they wanted to hear about it.

"If you like I can tell you about it, it was some time ago though so forgive me if I forget a few details here and there." He said, his antennae twitching a bit before he started the story at the very strange beginning where the group of Alkidike, lead by Yansa, were joined by a group of Shifters and a group of Leaf Tribesman, which had been the start to quite a strange and long adventure indeed.
