Miroqi was about to get moving again, when he heard the sound of some one or something stumbling. He blinked and turned, trying to spot what it was. He blinked and frowned, not sure where... then he spotted the bear. A bear? He didn't know there were any in these woods.
He moved back, slowly and carefully, but says, politely "Are you all right there? It seems a little late in the season to be wandering around... Aren't you... supposed to be getting close to hibernation?" Didn't most bears hibernate in the winter? Was he confused?

Damnit, time for a change of plans. Her eyes darted about looking for some reason to get closer.
"Not time for the long sleep yet," she did her best to sound pained. Her gaze settled on something almost out of her field of vision. There it was. The answer was in that old rose bush.
She turned to limp toward him, "I was going along, and I stumbled." She held up her 'sore' paw, keeping the pad turned away from him. "I stepped on a thorn- Ah! It's so deep!"

He frowned some, watching her eyes dart, wondering why she was doing that. But the pain in her voice made him concerned, nonetheless.
Cautiously he let her approach, watching her, trying see the thorn. After all, today had been a bad one... he didn't need to risk anything else, but she did seem to be in pain. "Perhaps I could extract it for you, if you'd let me look at it...?"
He'd help her if he could, and then send her on his way, because he just felt really nervous and off kilter by everything.

"Oh please, please," she whimpered, inching closer to the stallion. Oh, this was the one. She could smell the feathered stallion's scent all over him.
"My teeth are so sharp I'm afraid I would only make it worse!" she raised her paw, further, but still didn't turn it.

"You'll need to turn your paw so I can see the thorn, or I can't help you... um... Miss." He wasn't sure what to call the bear, so he chose the most basic thing he could to be as respectful as he could.
She did seem to be in pain, so he was beginning to feel bad for her, but he needed to be able to see!

She reached it up a bit higher, then pulled it back as if something had just occurred to her, "It's weird..."

He turned his head, trying to see, but when she pulled it back, he pulled his head back as well. If anything, he looked offended, thought that was unintentional. It was more surprise and confusion. "What's weird?" His ears twitched as he tried to work out what was up with the bear.

She grinned, "Someone told me I would be able to find you here." As her form shifted she stepped forward, closing what little was left of the gap between them.

"Some one sent you to me?" He blinks, confused, and starts to ask "Who would se... OH GREAT SPIRIT..." He yelped the last as she started to shift, and tried to turn to flee, his eyes huge with terror now!

She lunged, and this time her strike hit true. His flesh under her paws felt divine. Time seemed to slow as she pulled back on his leg, straining to reach him for a bite.
Just a bit. Just a taste.

The feeling of that paw in his leg made him throw his head back in a loud, whinnying scream of pain and misery. "Noooooooooooo!" He tried to pull free, but the shock made him weaker then usual.
He couldn't pull free. The pain and the terror, the fear that he was going to die... And the sorrow that he'd never be able to fix things with Mencari... All of this flashed through him.

She bit into his leg, savoring the warmth as she twisted and pulled him to the ground.

He was scrabbling with his front hooves, trying to drag himself free but the feeling of her biting him made it easier for her to pull him down, as his legs buckled in pain, and his mind froze. He kept screaming in pain, tears pouring out of his eyes now.

She let go and slowly raised herself, never taking her eyes off her prey. Would it be enough to keep him down?
"I want you to lay there~" she sounded as though she'd found a particularly juicy apple and was just waiting to dig in. "Lay and wait for the darkness."

His eyes rolled to look at her, and he shuddered, not moving. "Who... who would send such a one as you..." he gasped in pain and horror, thinking at least his last question could be answered. After all, he was alone. The odds of some one coming in time to save him were, in his mind, low. He made no attempt to move, for he felt quite sure the damage she'd done to his leg meant he'd not be able to get up with it.
