"And what if I don't? You gonna fight me, strongman?" Heidi narrowed her eyes. She was as threatening as a hummingbird.
When asked her plans she steepled her fingers in front of her like a villain. Oh, no. She had better ideas. "I shall don the guise of the moon ninja and put a few cubes down the back of your shirt whenever you get a boner. And then I will disappear before you hit me for dropping ice cubes down the back of your shirt."
She rolled off his lap then, completely by accident but she pretended it was on purpose. The way she flailed and squeaked was all part of the act. Tuck really was a nice guy. She had no right to judge him for just one mistake, and no amount of disappointment in him would change what had already happened. "Wish more guys were still like that. Your parents taught you well, young padawan." She sat up on the floor now looking more disheveled than before.
"So, aside from chillin' and not wanting to get out of bed, what're we doin' today?"

"Hell no, with my luck you'd beat my a**," Tuck chuckled, totally not threatened by her show. She was so goddamn adorable, and Tuck tried to look as serious as possible when she steepled her fingers. He failed. However, the talk of ice down the back of his shirt whenever he got a boner was ******** serious business, and that helped him look at least half serious. "That's playin' dirty." He paused. "But so long as it keeps me outta trouble, fine." Tuck narrowed his eyes. "But if I need to sleep, then one? I sleep better when I'm with someone. You volunteerin' to have all of the sleepovers with me?" There was a dirty grin. "What's the word I'm lookin' for. Platonic. That's the one. My platonic sleepin' buddy." If there were morning boners, she would have to just.. keep some ice somewhere. "Ain't got a clue what we're doin' today. What do you wanna do today? You wanna spar, or maybe get breakfast, or just ... hell if I know. It's up to you."

Heidi grinned up at Tuck when he gave her the look for what she had just threatened to do. What? She was just kidding! She wouldn't actually do it! Following Tuck around all day to cockblock him sounded exhausting. She folded her arms on the edge of the bed and rest her head on them, her grin faltering at Tuck's sudden...offer?
Wh..what?
Her cheeks turned hot pink. A..a sleeping buddy? Platonic or not geeze Tuck give a girl a warning before you do that. She cleared her throat. "Every night sounds kind of excessive, Forest. You'd get sick of me real fast, I think." Plus she wasn't sure she wanted to sleep with someone every night, especially someone who, despite being really freakin' awesome, she had only just met.
"Have breakfast, spar, have lunch, and then I dunno...do stuff?" Whatever came up, really. She was still kind of reeling from the platonic sleeping buddy comment. Geeze, Tuck.

If Tuck's shamelessness hadn't become obvious by that point, it probably never would. Though, judging from the pink that tinted Heidi's cheeks, he'd embarrassed her. He felt kind of bad - only kind of, though - and he shrugged his shoulders while having the decency to look sheepish.
Kind of sheepish, at least.
"Doubtful. Besides, you only live once, and I've adapted to that whole way'a thinkin'. Never know when you're gonna get out there and never come home, you know?"
His voice was soft, apologetic in tone.
"It's hard for me to sleep. I get some awful nightmares most times I close my eyes, so usually I just don't sleep 'til I'm too tired, an' even then it's only lil catnaps."
He felt energized this morning, though. "I think I can whip up some cereal, an' then beat you in a spar."

Oh. Well. Okay. That made sense, she supposed. It had just been so sudden and it was kind of weird he was a guy and she was a girl could she make it anymore obvious--
Nightmares? Heidi frowned, looking a bit confused. He hadn't had nightmares last night, had he? That sounded so unhealthy. Passing out night after night? Napping? Did he never get a full night's sleep? That was just terrible! "O-oh...well I mean..I could come every once in awhile, but not every night." She blinked. "I'unno..once a week're somethin'? Or you can just call me over I guess. I dunno..." This was new, no one had ever just gone 'hey we should sleep together so I don't get nightmares' to her before. It was different, very unexpected.
Her smile returned at the prospect of breakfast and that challenge. "Yaaay, cereal. And I bet I beat you in a spar, dude. I bet I beat you so hard."

"You know, forget I said anythin'. I really didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, s'just that you make me laugh an' I like bein' around you." He smiled. "No harm no foul, Heidward, I swear. Probably came off kinna creepy."
Tuck laughed.
"You ain't gonna beat my a**, short stack. I been practicin'."

Ah crap! Now she made him feel bad! Heidi gasped and sat up, shaking her hands in front of her a little to try and stop Tuck mid sentence. "No! No! It's fine, really! S'no big, I just was, like..surprised, y'know? It was super forward but it's okay really I had fun last night I don't mind coming over for sleepovers when you're having trouble sleeping I mean it no seriously dude it's okay." Okay so she may have been a bit frantic in her efforts to not make Tuck feel bad or something. He'd told her not to, so she wouldn't let him do it either.
"Uh, dude, I've been practicing too." Bring it on, ********>.

Tuck's brow furrowed slightly.
"I got this habit of sayin' s**t without really thinkin' about it. Gnat's the same way. Last thing I want to do is make you feel awkward, or make it weird to be my friend, you know?" Tuck rubbed his stubbled jaw, watching Heidi with a contrite expression.
"I been handlin' my nightmares for a while now. I can keep on handlin' them. Ain't your problem, short stack."
He offered her a smile.
"You gonna beat my a**?"

"Yeah, I know. But when I say something is fine, it's fine." He didn't trust her? Heidi pouted. "I liked sleeping here with you, so really, I mean it. If you want me to, I can sleep here when you need me." Finally Heidi shrugged and moved to stand up, but really all that happened was she fought with the blanket she was now all tangled up in and stuck.
She fell over like a ragdoll fighting with the blanket tangled around her legs.
Yes, she is going to beat your a**.
"Just as soon as I get free of this okay yes I will kick your butt an cover up your old bruises with new bruises."
Why did she bring this blanket. She finally kicked free of the stupid thing and pushed it aside, straightening out her pajamas and making an effort to flatten her hair. It didn't work.

Tuck had planned on giving Heidi a serious response to the very serious topic of sleeping-buddies, but it was hard to have a serious conversation when he was laughing his a** off at you, Heidi.
Yes, there were tears streaming down his face.
Tears of laughter.
"C-can't.. breathe.."

Tuck would suddenly find Heidi throwing herself at him, the smaller girl was trying to pin down the brick wall of a man who was laughing at her.
Dishonor on your cow, Tuck!
"Teach you to laugh at me!" Heidi pouted, her cheeks still pink from before and even puffed out a bit as she glared down at him with all the ferocity of a dandelion.

Tuck allowed himself to be pinned back on the bed, and as he wiped the tears from his cheeks he continued to grin up at her. The grin was interrupted now and again by very manful giggles.
Yes, giggles.
"Shiiiit," he finally sputtered, "your cheeks are so ********' pink right now."

Heidi had never pinned a guy down before, it was kind of awkward. How was she supposed to do this? Did she use her legs? Did they..um...go here? And..um...
How..
She made the mistake of looking down to make sure she wasn't hurting Tuck with how she was sitting on him. She made a horrible mistake. The girl suddenly gasped and just as quickly as she'd thrown herself at him she moved off him. Oh god! She had never even noticed he wasn't wearing pants she just thought he didn't sleep with a shirt on and oh god did she just see what she thought she saw oh crap that was a mistake a bad idea abort abort abort!
Heidi cleared her throat and sat beside Tuck, only just now registering what he'd said about her face. "Y-yeah well it..it was rage! From you laughing at me!" Totally. That was why she was still blushing. Yup.

Heidi was there, and then suddenly she was gone, and it took Tuck a few seconds to realize what had happened. His expression twisted with confusion as he glanced at the red-faced Heidi before he glanced down at where the sheets were twisted around his hips.
Oh.
Oh.
"C'mon now, I got boxers on, Heidi." He sounded a little disgruntled. He had to remember that she wasn't a grown woman like Candace or even Nevada, someone who knew how to handle whatever was thrown at her, who knew what she wanted and knew how to take it.
"Why don't, we, ah.. meet up in the cafeteria. I'ma get dressed, you get dressed n' brush that mop of yours. We'll eat n' then do anythin' you want for the rest of the day."

"I-I know." Heidi cleared her throat, pointedly looking anywhere but Tuck. "Staring at a lady in her undergarments is rude, Tuckella," she explained seriously, covering up her embarrassment with humor. She'd get over it, it had just been a shock. Right. Guys woke up with..yeah. She lived with two of them, she should know this, except she didn't really think about her dad or her brother. Tuck was a guy but he was her bro, you don't think about bros like that.
S'just not right, dude.
Heidi blinked and finally looked Tuck's way when he offered up a plan for the day. Yeah, that sounded good. She smiled and nodded. "Works for me. I'll see you in a bit then." She stood on the bed and carefully balanced on it so she wouldn't fall on the springs moving under her feet, stepping around Tuck and hopping onto the floor. She gathered up her blanket and draped it over her much like she had earlier that morning; return of the blanket monster.
"Until we meet again, Tuckella." Heidi said in a deep ominous voice before she shuffled out of the dorm room to return to her own room. Awkward.
