"Not... here, really. Ok, here too, but I mean. You never can go civilian again. I um. I like talking to the new recruits. It's... it's kind of like. I dunno. We all are a bit weird to be here, I suppose," He rubbed his nose and started poking at his sandwich, but his appetite was suffering, and his cooking attempt wasn't really helping matters.

"Yeah." Gnat glanced up at him.
"You can't be that weird, right?" She gestured with a foot. "I mean, look, you is on a date. Nice view, picnic, that sorta thing."
Never mind that she had sort of agreed to it out of guilt. She reached over and took a bite out of her own sandwich.

"Y-yeah," He laughed weakly, forcing a smile. "A date with a pretty girl. So um. Why'd you um... what made you want to ah... k-kiss me the other night?" His blush had turned more bashful at least this time as he beamed curiously at her.

She decided to go with honesty; she was a terrible liar anyway. "Cos it would make my brother mad, an' you was drunk, an I didn't think you'd remember either way."
She sighed. "An' cos I guess I was a little lonely. Didn't want my knuckledheaded brother to be the first to get some island nookie."
Natasha didn't look at his face, instead watching the fog roil across the sky.

"Oh," He cleared his throat, taking a sip of juice as he glanced up at something bird-like flitting through the shining trees.
Well, at least she was honest.
"I um. Hope this wasn't uh. I mean. I'd understand if you had said no to this. But I bet he was pretty mad when he heard you were going out with a guy like me, ahahaha."

She smiled and closed her eyes, enjoying the warmth of the sun through the fog on her face.
"Heh, prolly will be. When he finds out where I went off to."
Gnat could help but be a tiny bit pleased at this thought.
"Not that I ain't havin' a nice time," she added lazily.

"Th-that's good! I'm glad! It's... it's important to just. Just relax sometimes, and there's only so much-" He hesitated for another sneeze as he reached for his guitar. "-Staying locked in your room can do in that regard, ahaha..."
He strummed quietly, nothing easily notable but pleasant as background music all the same.
Meanwhile, something just down the cliff side stirred at the sound of music. Jerry didn't notice the vines shivering across the moss.

"Ah, y-yeah, my allergies are terrible out here, but I really do love it... It's sort of a trade-oooOOOAAH!" Suddenly, something had grabbed him by the ankle, whipping him around and sending his guitar tumbling across the moss as he was dragged toward the edge of the cliffside.

Gnat's eyes snapped open, and she sat up.
"What the hell?!" She scrambled forward, trying to grab his hands.
She did not want to explain to Tuck that some guy fell off a cliff trying to escape her company.

"Aaaah AAAH!!" Was Jerry's helpful response, trying his best to keep a grip on her hands- Leaves shuttered at the cliffside behind him, a massive green plant sprout curled and expanded it's way up into view, beautiful, exotic, red petals twisting open around gaping thorny teeth.
Feed it, Jerry, so it can grow up big and strong.
Jerry, meanwhile, didn't know, and had so many reservations.

On the one hand, Jerry wasn't trying to throw himself off the cliff.
On the other hand, the local flora was getting really, really out of hand.
"That's a serious ********' allergy, man!" Gnat cursed gleefully, giddy with fear, bewilderment and adrenaline. She let go of one of his hands, summoning Edward. His presence roiled in her mind, dark and sharp; all angles and corners and precision.
She released the Jerry's other hand. With a feral snarl she leapt forward on the the plant-thing, punching at it with her gauntleted fist.
Rumble in the jungle.

As Natasha's blow came down, the creature squealed, vines spasming and allowing Jerry to twist onto his back, summoning Roar with a strangled snarl as he aimed him along his stomach into the beast's mouth- as the weapon barked it's explosion, Jerry accompanied it with a loudly screamed profanity as well.

Gnat kept punching what she assumed was an approximation of it's face - until the blast from Jerry's weapon nearly startled her off her foothold.
She clung to the plant-thing desperately, trying to resist the urge to oggle the very clear view she had off the valley and river below.
