"Instant." Evan made a face of mild disgust. Even before he had learned how to cook actual food, he at least knew what to do with potatoes. "It's worth it. You'll thank me for it later."
Half-and-half, vanilla, honey, cinnamon, and a little bit of salt all went into the egg mixture, which was stirred and left to the side while Evan looked for the bread. "I'm up, might as well. Kicking your a** always makes me feel better, anyway."

Gnat chose to concentrate on the task at hand - she wasn't looking forward to getting her a** kicked later.

Tuck's gaze cut to his twin sister, and a huge grin spread across his face.
He was looking forward to kicking her a**.
"Is breakfast done yet?"

Evan just kind of wanted to kick anyone's a** at that point, an urge that grew every time one of them complained. "That depends, are you done with those potatoes yet?"

She had done like. Four potatoes ok.

"Four more. Mebbe five."
Tuck liked potatoes, okay? And he was really ********' hungry.
"Hurry up."

Glare.
She picked up the pace, and as a result probably left most of the skin still on.
Whatever. It all tasted the same with ketchup.

Once Gnat finished, Tuck made quick work of grating the potatoes. It had taken his sister so long that some of the potatoes were turning a curious shade of brown.
He set the bowl down next to Evan and started rinsing whatever dishes had been dirtied.
"I said I was sorry, man," he grumbled softly, feeling genuinely guilty.

Evan mumbled something that could have been "Whatever" as he dumped the potatoes into a pan. He flipped and turned and stirred things with brisk efficiency, finally deciding everything was good enough before turning the burners off and dividing the contents of the pans into three relatively equal shares. "Breakfast. Served. Powdered sugar's over there," he said, nodding in the general direction of the bag.

Gnat clapped her hands in uncharacteristic glee, taking a plate and dousing it generously in sugar.
"Evan, have I ever tole you you da bes?"

Tuck grabbed a plate and carried it to the table, shoulders tense and mouth tight. He didn't say anything as he crammed food into his mouth.

Evan pointedly didn't glare after Tuck, but forced a smile for Gnat. "Not so far as I know, but it's always nice to hear."

"Well, it's true." She took a seat and started shoveling food into her mouth, seemingly oblivious to the tension.

Tuck continued to be silent for a long, long while, methodically shoving food in his mouth before chewing. Once his plate was clean he rose to his feet, plate in hand, and moved back towards the kitchen.
He reappeared moments later looking mildly irritated.
"Meet you on the field," Tuck grunted before leaving without waiting for a response.
