Tian wasn't sure if 'little girl' was supposed to be an insult or not. She gave the Negaverse officer no pleasure in seeing her wince at the pain. Instead, she ripped off the bottom of her skirt and tied it tightly around where the gash was, making sure that it didn't get too much worse before the nigh was over. Thank goodness for getting closer to being a doctor.
"Little... That's interesting." There had to be better insults than that out there, right? She did not fancy being swung at with an actual weapon, but gladly she had been a fencer for many years. There had been many dirty tricks and swinging a weapon at the legs definitely counted as one. Tian jumped backwards just a bit, missing the swing. "Cheap trick, Old Fart. What do I get if you miss?"
There was a bit of hidden anger in Tian's face. There was no way she could win her by herself, but it didn't matter. Instead, Tian focused on taking down a youma flying towards her, giving it an upwards kick and destroying yet another one. It was amazing how powerful anger could be.

"NO!" Tony got to his feet as quickly as he could. Kyndall was in danger and she could not afford to be dropped as he had been. "Please, no!"
He leaped on the youma's back, latching on and it lowered Kyndall a bit but it did not let her go. It did alter its grip on her, holding her in one of its hand by the shoulder while it reached back to try and grab Tony and throw him off.
"Let go of my wife!" he yelled.
He hoped desperately that one of the fighters in the area would help him, knowing he saw some white moon in all the chaos, though everyone seemed rather distracted and focused on their own battles, which he couldn't blame them for.

Running shoes were awesome. It helped that Columba was mostly legs anyway as the gangly chibi senshi darted this way and that to avoid the youma she had unceremoniously allowed to sneak up on her.
She needed to get snake boy. She had righteous fury and hellfire to rain down on him, after all.
She stopped, and looked around. Something that needed to be done, since she had mostly been running in circles with her had down. He wasn't even chasing her! She was sure he had been. No, instead he had been deterred by a civilian lady with a water gun, and that wasn't okay. She was just one lady, and she had to save her, obviously.
Well, technically she had saved Columba but, hey, semantics.
Changing direction, she darted back towards them, this time, she would be the one to attack Serpentine. Sort of. It was more like she had no intent to make a punch or anything sensible and would just tackled him kamikaze style if she didn't completely miss him all together.

Serpentine maintained his steadfast grrip on the super soaker wielding girl's arm. He was attempting to drain as much energy as he could. If she survived this day, then he intended to gurantee she would learn her lesson about interfering in matters not her own. Others might have spoken to ingrain that lesson, but not this lieutenant. No, he gazed at her silently and continued on with his business. His uniform was avenged, and the Negaverse's cause was pursued. The perfect meeting of desire and duty.
He thought he had more time for this action before a Senshi demanded his attention. Yet, the tackle of a very determiined Columba proved that he did not. She may have been small, but that just meant that her kamikazi tactic struck him directly in the knees. His stance buckled, sending him down to one knee, his grip on the civilian loosened, and the lieutenant found himself blazing with shame for the second time that night. Shame was not an emotion that Serpentine intended to endure for long.
He reeled back the fist that gripped his "weapon" and aimed for the girl's face. Child or not, a Senshi was a Senshi. And this one was proving to be a particular thorn in his side!

Regina's first instinct was to scream. The second was to struggle.
In the name of braverism, she did neither.
Well, maybe it wasn't all in the name of braverism. A good part of it was how draining it was being around him (ba'dum cchh). It started with a lightheaded wooziness and went right on to a weak wobble of her knees, grip loosening slightly on her makeshift weapon only to tighten back up when she felt his weaken.
She managed to wriggle just enough while his attention wasn't on her to fall to the ground, scrambling back just a bit closer to the booth so that she could make sure that the hose giving power to her water gun didn't get pulled loose. One pump... Two... Aim. Wobble. AIM. "FIRE." She said out loud in an almost drunken manner as she pulled the trigger, wobbly aim back at the jerk that was still picking on the kid who'd just saved her butt.

Won't happen in this game, but when Regina's a Page they can totally have a rematch. XD

As much as he would like to try and get his mother to safety, he was a little preoccupied with this hard headed youma. The whack with his storm glass did nothing but crack the glass and was soon leaking onto the ground. Sessrumnir clicked his tongue, sending the weapon back to subspace for the time being, hoping that he would be able to keep this bad boy distracted long enough for Palatine to get his mother out of there.
"Get to your car, lady!" he called over to her. Seriously mom?? Now was not the time to be taking pictures.
The youma hissed and growled, unhappy that it had been hit, and now that its sights were on something edible, well, what else would it do but try to eat them? Or at least their energy.
More importantly, there seemed to be something of a scuffle farther down the Boardwalk. Someone yelling about someone they needed to find, and then what seemed to be a Nega fighting children. Naturally he was unable to help them, but if he could keep this youma occupied, that was one less worry, right?
But be was going to be seriously pissed if anything happened to his mother while he was unable to help her out.

There was little time to react as everything suddenly went to hell, and Rhiannon found herself being swept up into a fight she wasn't entirely sure she was ready for. There were youma and others hurting civilians, and for a while it seemed as though there was little any of them could do to put a stop to the madness. Powering up had only separated herself from Claire and Marissa, and while she worried about their safety, she couldn't do anything as a civilian. She needed the extension of her magic. It made her powerful... made her feel whole and useful.
Not far from where she had separated from her group, there seemed to be a young child and another maybe her age who were being attacked by some man in dark clothing. And while the young woman with the water gun in her hands seemed to be steady and in control of the situation, there was only so much she could do on her own.
Varuna knew... she had once been in her position. A young woman with only enough fight as her mind, body, and spirit would allow. But this extra boost of magic gave her the courage she might not have otherwise had.
A smaller senshi lunged towards the man, and the young woman yelled 'Fire!', putting up a decent fight despite looking worn down. Varuna called her attack almost immediately after, and as the words "Snow slip!" rolled off her tongue, a powdery mound of snow appeared, the whole sheet then rolling towards the darkly clad man with enough force to hopefully throw him off balance. Three on one might not be very fair, but she'd seen what a Negaverse officer could do, and she didn't want to repeat that experience.
Why was it suddenly so hard to explain to a normal woman why she should not be lingering around trying to find her son? If it had been anyone else Palatine might not have cared so much about trying to reassure her, but she felt like such a terrible person for just shooing Claire off with hardly any sympathy and no explanation at all.
"Just... let me find him, okay? You run and find somewhere to hide, or... get to your car and run over anything that follows you," Palatine said.
"But!"
"Do you want to be attacked by these things?"
"Well... no..."
"Then go!"
"But the others, too..."
Palatine didn't have time to argue further (though the reminder that there had been others brought her niece to mind, and she realized she was a terrible aunt on top of being a terrible mother). A youma popped out from behind another game booth and lunged like some starving beast from hell. Sacrificing herself for the safety of a woman who insisted upon being her friend was probably the noble thing to do, and Palatine did it and earned herself a claw in her side, but it wasn't necessarily on purpose.
She just happened to be closest to the machine at the time.
Stumbling back, Palatine looked down quickly to assess the damage and saw a splotch of red on the obnoxious pink of her waistcoat.
Well.
This was serious then.
Rolls: 1-10 (6): Assist 1-10 (7): Attacked by youma.
Everything, it seemed, had erupted into chaos around Natron. He could feel a large number of Order auras, but more importantly, he saw a rather large, burly civilian man, practically shoving others out of the way in his haste to get away. Brave, burly manly man he was not. The Captain smirked viciously and teleported to inches in front of him and reached out, sliding a hand into his chest.
"Oops." He said, and then he yanked, pulling the man's starseed and watching him drop. He tucked the object into his pocket, looking viciously pleased with himself. Yes, this was what he was supposed to be doing here today. Killing and terroriing and reminding everyone of the power of Chaos.

If Columba had the capability of organizing her thoughts into coherent sentences, she'd probably still scream. All that she comprehended, in specific order, was fist in her face, water gun blast, snow was attacking.
What?
To make matters worse, she could distinctly feel the sensation of another youma encroaching and she couldn't for the life of her regain her bearings to figure out what was happening, much less gauge her distance to the nearest game, and she was soon distracted by the fact she had been clocked. She saw that fist coming, she remembered, why didn't she move better? Involuntary tears welled up at the pain, but she wouldn't cry and she certainly wasn't going to admit it. She had a know it all speech about the nerves in her face prepared for later.
Even though she'd just collided with him, and his fist with her, she blindly and desperately clutched at Serpentine's uniform. She would take a nega who could swing a mean punch over the uncertainty of her surroundings any day. And she also might've been trying to bite him because even if she'd rather fight him than get dragged across the boardwalk by youma, she was still trying to fight him.

The sight of blood was kind of disturbing, not because Palatine found those sorts of things to be gross but because it was actually quite jarring. Before now she'd been having an easy time of being a page. Sure, her weapon had been giving her strange vibes for a while and the stories she kept hearing about the war didn't really make her look forward to having similar experiences, and the fact that there were kids running around in the middle of all this turned her stomach, but she hadn't been injured yet or in any way involved in a large scale battle.
She didn't really know what to do about it now that both of those things were happening at once. For a few seconds she just stood there and tried to process it. When that didn't work she went on autopilot.
"Get out of here now," she demanded of Claire. She could hear people shouting and saw others engaged in battle, plus the youma jumping out everywhere and she could sense a pretty powerful energy signature that did not reassure her at all. The sooner she could stop worrying about Claire and focus on actually doing something, the better she'd feel.
Claire tried to argue again, but Palatine cut her off before she could. "I saw you with your friends earlier," she lied. "I'll find them and send them after you, just go before you end up dead."
Finally, just before Palatine thought she was going to have to drag her off and lock her up somewhere, Claire turned and ran.
After watching her long enough to reassure herself that Claire would be alright, Palatine turned to Sessrumnir and did something she would really rather not do to Michael Gallo of all people, but she was new to this and figured some advice and guidance wasn't going to hurt at all. She just wasn't really fond of admitting to any inadequacies to someone who might hold it over her head later.
"What's the better option?" she asked. "Fight the youma, go after the officers, or save the civilians?"
All of the above would be the ideal answer, but Palatine wasn't quite able to fool herself into believing that she'd be successful at all of those things at once. Option number three seemed the noblest, but now wasn't necessarily the time for nobility, was it?

Painite laughed at her remark, shaking her head and grinning almost ear to ear because of it. She loomed closer to the girl, walking slowly, as if not worried about a single thing the other powered being could do. Sometimes, she felt invulnerable.
She heard yelling around them, glancing around, even, to take a look at all the chaos the Carnival was in. It made her heart feel warm in its dark little hole in her chest.
"If you win, I'll let you pick which starseed you'd like to take home," she laughed. There was no winning. Not for the White Moon. Painite felt invulnerable, and she charged at Tian head long, spear tucked under her arm. She had it backward, the pointed bottom sticking out toward the senshi instead of the metal top, and she held it like it was a jousting lance.

The youma grabbed Tony by the back of his head and he felt the same stars that had exploded in front of his eyes when he was slammed onto the counter returning as the youma first patted his head then started to smack him as hard as it could.
It did not want this little human attached to it while it tried to feed.
"Please, someone help us!" He cried out, eyes screwed shut and hold on the youma's neck not loosening. It wouldn't have mattered at this point, since the youma was holding the both of them now. Why was it so hard to dust one monster?
He needed to power up, but he opened one eye and saw a Negaverse soldier glancing his way. If he powered up now, he would put all of his family at risk to be hunted down.
His future family, as well.
"Help my wife! She's pregnant!" As if that wasn't obvious, as late in term as she was. He was doing his best to stay calm, but it had been a long time since he'd been the helpless victim.

With a great amount of effort Kyndall found an opening and brought her elbow back onto whatever appendage was holding her and gave herself enough wiggle room to be able to be freed. Her husband had worked valiantly to save her and now was stuck. She didn't dare get closer to try and help him.
They needed Camelot. If he could manage to get free he needed to leave long enough to find somewhere to power up.
"When you get free, Tony, go hide. Leave me and find somewhere isolated."
The hope was that he'd take the hint and go power up. She'd be infinitely more protected by Camelot than her dear, brave, well meaning husband.

Tian's adrenalin was off the chart when she faced the Negaverse officer. It was more than clear that she was trying to toy with her more than anything, but little did the officer know that she's been practicing fencing a lot, especially since that time she ended up in the Surrounding.
With all the debris, Tian found one that resembled something she could use as a rapier. She picked it up and weighed it with her hand, ignoring the pain in her arm. She lounged towards a youma and attacked, destroying it with her lounge and swing. There was no way she was going to let them off that easily, especially this Negaverse officer.
She wasn't sure of the Nega's skills, but she was sure of hers. Even if she couldn't hurt her, at least she could more than defend herself.
